Psalm 138

I Will Give Thanks to Your Name

Of David.

138 (A)I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing praises to You before the (B)gods.
I will worship (C)toward Your holy temple
And (D)give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your [a]truth;
For You have (E)magnified Your [b]word [c]according to all Your name.
On the day I (F)called, You answered me;
You made me bold with (G)strength in my soul.

(H)All the kings of the earth, O Yahweh, will give You thanks,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
And they will (I)sing of the ways of Yahweh,
For (J)great is the glory of Yahweh.
For (K)Yahweh is high,
Yet He (L)sees the lowly,
But the (M)one who exalts himself He knows from afar.

Though I (N)walk in the midst of [d]distress, You will [e](O)revive me;
You will (P)stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will (Q)save me.
Yahweh will (R)accomplish what concerns me;
O Yahweh, Your (S)lovingkindness endures forever;
(T)Do not fail the (U)works of Your hands.

Ezekiel 36:33-38

33 ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the (A)cities to be inhabited, and the (B)waste places will be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of being a desolation in the sight of everyone who passes by. 35 And they will say, ‘This desolate land has become like the (C)garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate, and [a]ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’ 36 Then the nations that remain all around you will know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, Yahweh, have spoken and (D)will do it.”

37 ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “This also I will let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 38 Like the (E)flock for holy offerings, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed times, so will the waste cities be filled with (F)flocks of men. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

Matthew 16:5-12

And coming to the other side of the sea, the disciples had forgotten to bring bread. And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and (A)beware of the [a]leaven of the (B)Pharisees and Sadducees.” Now they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “He said that because we did not bring bread.” But Jesus, aware of this, said, (C)You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread? Do you not yet understand or remember (D)the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets full you picked up? 10 Or (E)the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many large baskets full you picked up? 11 How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But (F)beware of the [b]leaven of the (G)Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the (H)Pharisees and Sadducees.
