12 How can I repay the Lord

13 I will take the cup of salvation
and call on the name of Yahweh.(B)
14 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all His people.(C)
Salvation and Judgment on That Day
25 Yahweh, You are my God;(A)
I will exalt You. I will praise Your name,
for You have accomplished wonders,
plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
2 For You have turned the city into a pile of rocks,(B)
a fortified city, into ruins;
the fortress of barbarians(C) is no longer a city;
it will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore, a strong people will honor You.
The cities of violent nations will fear You.
4 For You have been a stronghold for the poor,
a stronghold for the needy(D) person in his distress,
a refuge from the rain, a shade from the heat.(E)
When the breath of the violent
is like rain against a wall,
5 like heat in a dry land,
You subdue the uproar of barbarians.
As[a] the shade of a cloud cools the heat of the day,
so He silences the song of the violent.
8 You love Him,(A) though you have not seen(B) Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice(C) with inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 because you are receiving the goal of your[a] faith, the salvation of your souls.[b]
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets(D) who prophesied about the grace that would come to you searched and carefully investigated. 11 They inquired into what time or what circumstances[c] the Spirit of Christ(E) within them was indicating when He testified in advance(F) to the messianic sufferings[d](G) and the glories(H) that would follow.[e] 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you(I) by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.(J) Angels desire to look into these things.
