Version
Psalm 23

23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to rest in green pasture and leads me by the still waters.

He restores my soul and leads me in the paths of righteousness, for His Name’s sake.

Indeed, though I should walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the sight of my adversaries. You anoint my head with oil; and my cup runs over.

Doubtless, kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I shall remain in the House of the LORD forever. A Psalm of David.

1 Samuel 15:32-34

32 Then Samuel said, “Bring Agag, the king of the Amalekites, here to me.” And Agag came to him pleasantly; and Agag said, “Truly the bitterness of death has passed.”

33 And Samuel said, “As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among other women.” And Samuel cut Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

34 So Samuel departed to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house, to Gibeah of Saul.

John 1:1-9

In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.

In Him was life. And that life was the Light of man.

And the Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not understood it.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John.

One who came for a witness, to testify about the Light; so that through him all might believe.

He was not the Light, but bore witness of the Light;

that is, the true Light, which, coming into the world, lights all mankind.
