Malachi 4:1-2

The day of the Lord before the which Elijah should come.

For behold, the day cometh that shall [a]burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble, and the day that cometh, shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, and shall leave them neither root nor branch.

But unto you that fear my name, shall the [b]sun of righteousness arise, and health shall be under his wings, and ye shall go [c]forth and grow up as fat calves.

Psalm 98

98 1 An earnest exhortation to all creatures to praise the Lord for his power, mercy and fidelity in his promise by Christ, 10 by whom he hath communicated his salvation to all nations.

A Psalm.

Sing [a]unto the Lord a new song: for he hath done marvelous things: (A)his right hand, and his holy [b]arm have gotten him the victory.

The Lord declared his [c]salvation: his righteousness hath he revealed in the sight of the nations.

He hath [d]remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

All the earth, sing ye loud unto the Lord: cry out and rejoice, and sing praises.

Sing praise to the Lord upon the harp, even upon the harp with a singing voice.

With [e]shalms and sound of trumpets sing loud before the Lord the king.

Let the sea roar, and all that therein is, the world, and they that dwell therein.

Let the floods clap their hands, and let the mountains rejoice together,

Before the Lord: for he is come to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world: and the people with equity.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-13

[a]We warn you, brethren, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walked inordinately, and not after the instruction, which he received of us.

[b]For ye yourselves know, (A)how ye ought to follow us: (B)for we behaved not ourselves inordinately among you,

Neither took we bread of any man for nought: but we wrought with labor and travail night and day, because we would not be chargeable to any of you.

Not because we have not authority, but that we might make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10 For even when we were with you, this we warned you of, that if there were any, which would not work, that he should not [c]eat.

11 For we hear, that there are some which walk among [d]you inordinately, and work not at all, [e]but are busybodies.

12 [f]Therefore them that are such, we warn and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness, and eat their own bread.

13 [g]And ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Luke 21:5-19

(A)[a]Now as some spake of the Temple, how it was garnished with goodly stones, and with [b]consecrated things, he said,

Are these the things that ye look upon? the days will come wherein a stone shall not be left upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.

Then they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign shall there be when these things shall come to pass?

(B)And he said, Take heed, that ye be not deceived: for many will come [c]in my Name, saying, I am Christ, and the time draweth near: follow ye not them therefore.

[d]And when ye hear of wars and seditions, be not afraid: for these things must first come, but the end followeth not by and by.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,

11 (C)And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and hunger, and pestilence, and fearful things, and great signs shall there be from heaven.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the assemblies, and into prisons, and bring you before Kings and rulers for my Name’s sake.

13 And this shall turn to you, for a [e]testimonial.

14 (D)Lay it up therefore in your hearts, that ye cast not beforehand what ye shall answer.

15 For I will give you a mouth, and wisdom where against all your adversaries shall not be able to speak nor resist.

16 Yea, ye shall be betrayed also of your parents and of your brethren, and kinsmen, and friends, and some of you shall they put to death.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my Name’s sake.

18 (E)Yet there shall not one hair of your heads perish.

19 By your patience [f]possess your souls.
