Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
3 LORD, how my adversaries are increased? How many rise against me?
2 Many say to my soul, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah.
3 But You, LORD, are a buckler for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 I called to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His Holy Mountain. Selah.
5 I laid down and slept; and rose up again. For the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who should beset me all around.
7 O LORD, arise! Help me, my God! For You have struck all my enemies upon the cheekbone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD. And Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah. To him who excels on Neginoth: A Psalm of David.
12 “Woe to him who builds a town with blood and erects a city by iniquity.
13 “Behold, is it not of the LORD of Hosts that the people shall labor in the very fire? The people shall weary themselves for frivolity.
14 “For the Earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
15 “Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink and mixes it with your own skin to make him drunk, so that you may see their nakedness.
16 “You are filled with shame for glory. You drink also and are uncovered! The cup of the LORD’s right Hand shall be turned to you, and shameful spewing, for your glory.
17 “For the cruelty of Lebanon shall cover you, as shall the plunder of the beasts which made them afraid because of men’s blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the city, and to all who dwell in them.
18 “What profit is the image? For the maker has made it an image, and a teacher of lies. Though, he who made it trusts in it when he makes dumb idols.
19 “Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake,’ and to the dumb stone, ‘Rise up! It shall teach you! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver. And there is no breath in it.
20 “But the LORD is in His Holy Temple. Let all the Earth keep silence before Him.”
12 And the next day, on the way back from Bethany, He became hungry.
13 And seeing a fig tree at a distance which had leaves, He went to see if He might find anything on it. But when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves. For the time of figs was not yet.
14 Then Jesus answered, and said to it, “Never shall anyone eat fruit from you again while the world stands.” And His disciples heard it.
20 And in the morning, as they journeyed together, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 Then Peter remembered and said to Him, “Master, behold, the fig tree which You cursed is withered.”
22 And Jesus answered, and said to them, “Have the faith of God.
23 “For truly I say to you, that whoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be taken away and cast into the sea’, and shall not waver in his heart but shall believe that those things which he says shall happen, whatever he says shall be done to you.
24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you shall have it and it shall be done to you.
