Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)

The (C)desire of the wicked will perish.
Who Is like Yahweh Our God?
113 [a]Praise Yah!
(D)Praise, O (E)slaves of Yahweh,
Praise the name of Yahweh.
2 (F)May the name of Yahweh be blessed
From now until forever.
3 (G)From the rising of the sun to its setting
The (H)name of Yahweh is to be praised.
4 Yahweh is (I)high above all nations;
His (J)glory is above the heavens.
5 (K)Who is like Yahweh our God,
The One who (L)sits on high,
6 The One who [b](M)brings Himself low to see
The things in heaven and on the earth?
7 Who (N)raises the poor from the dust
And lifts high the needy from the ash heap,
8 To make them (O)sit with [c]nobles,
With the [d]nobles of His people.
9 He (P)makes the barren woman of the house sit
As a glad mother of children.
[e]Praise Yah!
23 “(A)You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a (B)malicious witness. 2 You shall not follow [a]the masses in doing evil, nor shall you [b]testify in a case so as to turn aside after [c]the masses in order to [d](C)cause justice to be turned aside; 3 (D)nor shall you [e]be partial to a poor man in his case.
4 “(E)If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him. 5 (F)If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him.
6 “(G)You shall not cause the justice due to your needy brother to be turned aside in his case. 7 (H)Keep far from a [f]false charge, and (I)do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for (J)I will not justify the guilty.
8 “(K)And you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and [g]subverts the cause of the [h]just.
9 “(L)And you shall not oppress a sojourner, since you yourselves know the soul of a sojourner, for you also were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
There Is None Righteous
3 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? 2 Great in every respect. First of all, that (A)they were entrusted with the (B)oracles of God. 3 What then? If (C)some [a]did not believe, does their [b]unbelief abolish the faithfulness of God? 4 (D)May it never be! Rather, let God be true and every man (E)a liar, as it is written,
5 But if our unrighteousness [d](G)demonstrates the righteousness of God, (H)what shall we say? Is the God who inflicts wrath unrighteous? ((I)I am speaking in human terms.) 6 (J)May it never be! For otherwise, how will (K)God judge the world? 7 But if through my lie (L)the truth of God abounded to His glory, (M)why am I also still being judged as a sinner? 8 And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), “(N)Let us do evil that good may come”? [e]Their condemnation is just.
