11 (A)Malicious witnesses rise up,
Who ask me of things that I do not know.
12 They (B)repay me evil for good,
It is bereavement to my soul.
13 But as for me, (C)when they were sick, my (D)clothing was sackcloth;
I (E)humbled my soul with fasting,
And my (F)prayer kept returning to my bosom.
14 I walked about as though it were my friend or brother;
I (G)bowed down [a]mourning, as one who sorrows for a mother.
15 But (H)at my [b]stumbling they were glad and gathered themselves together;
The [c](I)smiters whom I did not know gathered together against me,
They (J)tore at me and never were silent.
16 Amongst the godless jesters at a feast,
They (K)gnashed at me with their teeth.
17 Lord, (L)how long will You look on?
Bring back my soul (M)from their ravages,
My (N)only life from the lions.
18 I will (O)give You thanks in the great assembly;
I will (P)praise You among a mighty people.
19 (Q)Let those who are wrongfully (R)my enemies not be glad over me;
Nor let those (S)who hate me without cause [d](T)wink maliciously.
20 For they do not speak peace,
But they devise (U)deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.
21 They (V)opened their mouth wide against me;
They said, “(W)Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it!”
22 (X)You have seen it, O Yahweh, (Y)do not keep silent;
O Lord, (Z)do not be far from me.
23 (AA)Stir up Yourself, and awake to my justice
And to my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 (AB)Judge me, O Yahweh my God, according to Your righteousness,
And (AC)do not let them be glad over me.
25 Do not let them say in their heart, “(AD)Aha, our desire!”
Do not let them say, “We have (AE)swallowed him up!”
26 Let (AF)those be ashamed and humiliated altogether who are glad at the evil done to me;
Let those be (AG)clothed with shame and dishonor who (AH)magnify themselves over me.
The Sabbath Command
35 Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel and said to them, “(A)These are the things that Yahweh has commanded you to [a]do:
2 “(B)Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, (C)a sabbath of complete rest to Yahweh; (D)whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. 3 (E)You shall not kindle a fire in any of your places of habitation on the sabbath day.”
Willing Hearts Contribute to Yahweh
4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded, saying, 5 ‘(F)Take from among you a [b]contribution to Yahweh; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as a [c]contribution to Yahweh: gold, silver, and [d]bronze, 6 and [e]blue, purple, and scarlet material, fine linen, goats’ hair, 7 and rams’ skins [f]dyed red, and porpoise skins, and acacia wood, 8 and oil for lighting, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense, 9 and onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the [g]breastpiece.
10 ‘(G)And let everyone [h]wise at heart among you come and make all that Yahweh has commanded: 11 the [i](H)tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its clasps and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 12 the (I)ark and its poles, the [j]mercy seat, and the curtain of the screen; 13 the (J)table and its poles, and all its [k]utensils, and the bread of the [l]Presence; 14 the (K)lampstand also for the light and its utensils and its lamps and the oil for the light; 15 and the (L)altar of incense and its poles, and the (M)anointing oil and the (N)fragrant incense, and the screen for the doorway at the [m]entrance of the tabernacle; 16 (O)the altar of burnt offering with its [n]bronze grating, its poles, and all its [o]utensils, the laver and its stand; 17 (P)the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court and their cords; 19 the [p](Q)woven garments for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.’”
Contributions Brought by the People
20 Then all the congregation of the sons of Israel went out from Moses’ presence. 21 (R)And everyone whose heart [q]stirred him and everyone whose spirit was willing came and brought the [r]contribution to Yahweh for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service and for the holy garments. 22 Then all whose hearts were willing, both men and women, came and brought brooches and [s]earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so did every man who waved it as a wave offering of gold to Yahweh. 23 And every man, [t]who had in his possession [u]blue and purple and scarlet material and fine linen and goats’ hair and rams’ skins [v]dyed red and porpoise skins, brought them. 24 Everyone who could raise up a [w]contribution of silver and [x]bronze brought the [y]contribution to Yahweh; and every man [z]who had in his possession acacia wood for any work of the service brought it. 25 All the women [aa]wise at heart spun with their hands and brought what they had spun, in [ab]blue and purple and scarlet material and in fine linen. 26 And all the women whose heart [ac]stirred with wisdom spun the goats’ hair. 27 And the rulers brought the onyx stones and the stones for setting for the ephod and for the [ad]breastpiece; 28 and (S)the spice and the oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. 29 The sons of Israel—all the men and women whose heart was willing to bring material for all the work, which Yahweh had commanded through the hand of Moses to do—brought a (T)freewill offering to Yahweh.
9 And on the next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, (A)Peter went up on (B)the housetop about (C)the [a]sixth hour to pray. 10 But he became hungry and was desiring to eat. And while they were making preparations, he (D)fell into a trance 11 and *saw (E)heaven opened up, and [b]an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, 12 and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the [c]sky. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise up, Peter, [d]slaughter and eat!” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, (F)Lord, for (G)I have never eaten anything defiled and unclean.” 15 Again a voice came to him a second time, “(H)What God has cleansed, no longer consider defiled.” 16 And this happened three times and immediately the [e]object was taken up into heaven.
17 Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in [f]mind as to what (I)the vision which he had seen might be, behold, (J)the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon’s house, appeared at the gate; 18 and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was lodging there. 19 And while Peter was reflecting on (K)the vision, (L)the Spirit said to him, “Behold, [g]three men are looking for you. 20 But rise up, go down and (M)accompany them without taking issue at all, for I have sent them Myself.” 21 And Peter went down to the men and said, “Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?” 22 And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and (N)God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, (O)was directed by a (P)holy angel to summon you to his house and hear [h](Q)a message from you.” 23 So he invited them in and gave them lodging.
Peter at Caesarea
And on the next day he rose up and went away with them, and (R)some of (S)the brothers from (T)Joppa went with him.
