New Catholic Bible (NCB)
Version
Psalm 119:9-16

[a]How can a young man lead a spotless life?
    By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;[b]
    do not let me stray from your precepts.
11 I treasure your word in my heart[c]
    for fear that I may sin against you.
12 Blessed are you, O Lord;
    teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recite
    all the judgments you have announced.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
    more than I would rejoice in endless riches.
15 I will meditate on your commands
    and respect your ways.
16 I find my delight in your decrees;
    I will never forget your word.

Isaiah 44:1-8

Chapter 44

Now listen to me, O Jacob, my servant,
    Israel whom I have chosen.
Thus says the Lord who made you,
    who formed you in the womb
    and will continue to help you:
Do not fear, O Jacob, my servant,
    Jeshurun[a] whom I have chosen.
For I will pour down rain on the thirsty land
    and open up streams on the dry ground.
I will pour out my Spirit upon your offspring
    and my blessing upon your descendants.
They will spring up amid the grass
    like willows besides flowing waters.
One person will say, “I am the Lord’s,”
    while another will call himself a son of Jacob.
And on his hand still another will write “The Lord’s,”
    and adopt Israel as a surname.

The One True God and False Gods

Thus says the Lord, the Lord Almighty,
    Israel’s king and redeemer:
I am the first and I am the last;
    there is no god but me.
Who is like me? Let him stand up and speak.
    Let him declare it and set forth his evidence.
Who in the past has foretold future events?
    Let him foretell to us what is yet to occur.
Do not fear or be afraid.
    Did I not proclaim all this
and foretell it long ago?
    You are my witnesses in this regard.
Is there any god besides me?
    There is no other Rock;
    I am aware of none.

Acts 2:14-24

14 Peter Preaches in the Name of the Twelve.[a] Then Peter stood up with the Eleven and proclaimed to them in a loud voice, “Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen carefully to my words. 15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It is only nine o’clock in the morning.[b] 16 Rather, this is what was revealed through the prophet Joel:

17 ‘It will come to pass in the last days, God declares,
    that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy;
    your young men shall see visions,
    and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Indeed, even upon my servants and my handmaids
    I shall pour out my Spirit in those days,
    and they shall prophesy.
19 I will show portents in the sky above
    and signs on the earth below:
    blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned into darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the day of the Lord comes,
    that great and glorious day.
21 Then it will come to pass
    that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth was a man commended to you by God by means of miracles and portents and signs that God worked through him, as you yourselves know. 23 By the set plan and foreknowledge of God, he was handed over into the hands of lawless men. Crucifying him, you killed him. 24 However, God raised him up, releasing him from the pangs of death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power.
