29 Give to the LORD, you sons of the Mighty. Give to the LORD glory and strength.

² Give to the LORD glory due His Name. Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary.

³ The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of Glory makes it thunder. The LORD is upon the great waters.

⁴ The voice of the LORD is mighty. The voice of the LORD is glorious.

⁵ The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Indeed, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

⁶ He also makes them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Shirion like a young unicorn.

⁷ The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

⁸ The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness tremble. The LORD makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.

⁹ The voice of the LORD makes the hinds calve and discovers the forests. In His Temple, every man speaks of His Glory.

¹⁰ The LORD sits upon the floods; and the LORD remains King forever.

¹¹ The LORD shall give strength to His people. The LORD shall bless His people with peace. A Psalm or song of the dedication of the House of David.

2 Then the days of David drew near, that he should die. And he charged Solomon, his son, saying,

² “I go the way of all the Earth. Be strong, therefore, and show yourself to be a man,

³ “and keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and keep His Statutes and His Commandments and His Judgments and His Testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all that you do, and in everything to which you turn,

⁴ “so that the LORD may confirm His Word which He spoke to me, saying, ‘If your sons guard their way, so that they walk before Me in truth, with all their hearts and with all their souls, you shall not (said He) lack one of yours upon the throne of Israel.’

¹⁰ So David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David.

¹¹ And the days which David reigned upon Israel were forty years. For seven years he reigned in Hebron and for thirty-three years he reigned in Jerusalem.

¹² Then Solomon sat upon the throne of David, his father. And his kingdom was established mightily.

5 Then it happened that as the people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God, He stood by the lake of Gennesaret

² and saw two ships stand by the lakeside. But the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets.

³ And He entered into one of the ships (which was Simon’s) and asked him to thrust off a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the ship.

⁴ Now when He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep. And let down your nets to make a catch.”

⁵ Then Simon answered, and said to Him, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have taken nothing. Nevertheless, at Your Word I will let down the net.”

⁶ And when they had done so, they enclosed a great multitude of fish, so that their net broke.

⁷ And they beckoned to their partners in the other ship to come and help them. Then they came and filled both the ships, so that they sank.

⁸ Now when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Lord, go from me. For I am a sinful man.”

⁹ For he was utterly astonished (and all who were with him) at the catch of fish which they took.

¹⁰ And so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were companions of Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not fear. From now on you shall catch men.”

¹¹ And when they had brought the ships to land, they left all and followed Him.
