Psalm 9:1-14

1 After he had given thanks to God for the sundry victories that he had sent him against his enemies, and also proved by manifold experience, how ready God was at hand in all his troubles. 14 He being now likewise in danger of new enemies, desireth God to help him according to his wont, 17 and to destroy the malicious arrogance of his adversaries.

To him that excelleth upon [a]Muth Labben. A Psalm of David.

I will praise the Lord with my [b]whole heart: I will speak of all thy marvelous works.

I will be glad, and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy Name, O most High.

For that mine enemies are turned back: they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

For [c]thou hast maintained my right and my cause: thou art set in the throne, and judgest right.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen: thou hast destroyed the wicked: thou hast put out their name forever and ever.

[d]O enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end, and thou hast destroyed the cities: their memorial is perished with them.

But the Lord [e]shall sit forever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

For he shall judge the world in righteousness, and shall judge the people with equity.

The Lord also will be a refuge for the [f]poor, a refuge in due time, even in affliction.

10 And they that know thy Name, will trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not failed them that seek thee.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: show the people his works.

12 For [g]when he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth it, and forgetteth not the complaint of the poor.

13 Have mercy upon me, O Lord: consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death,

14 That I may show all thy praises within the [h]gates of the daughter of Zion, and rejoice in thy salvation.

Zechariah 2:1-5

The restoring of Jerusalem and Judah.

I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold, a [a]man with a measuring line in his hand.

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, that I may see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

And behold, the Angel that talked with me, went forth, and another Angel went out to meet him,

And said unto him, Run, speak to this [b]young man, and say, [c]Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, for the multitude of men and cattle therein.

For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of [d]fire round about, and will [e]be the glory in the midst of her.

Zechariah 5:1-4

1 The vision of the flying book, signifying the curse of thieves, and such as abuse the Name of God. 6 By the vision of the measure is signified the bringing of Judah’s afflictions into Babylon.

Then I turned me, and lifted up mine eyes and looked, and behold, a flying book.

And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying [a]book: the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the whole earth: for everyone that [b]stealeth, shall be cut off, as well on this [c]side, as on that: and everyone that [d]sweareth, shall be cut off, as well on this side, as on that.

I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that falsely sweareth by my Name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and stones thereof.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

12 [a]Now we beseech you brethren, that ye [b]acknowledge them which labor among you, and are over you in the [c]Lord, and admonish you.

13 That ye have them in singular love for [d]their work’s sake. [e]Be at peace among yourselves.

14 [f]We desire you, brethren, admonish them that are [g]out of order: comfort the feebleminded: bear with the weak: be patient toward all men.

15 (A)[h]See that none recompense evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, both toward yourselves, and toward all men.

16 [i]Rejoice evermore.

17 (B)Pray continually.

18 In all things, give thanks, for this is the [j]will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
