Psalm 70

70 1 He prayeth to be right speedily delivered. 2 He desireth the shame of his enemies, 4 And the joyful comfort of all those that seek the Lord.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David, to put [a]in remembrance.

O (A)God, [b]haste thee to deliver me: make haste to help me, O Lord.

Let them be [c]confounded and put to shame, that seek my soul: let them be turned backward and put to rebuke, that desire mine hurt.

Let them be turned back for a reward of their [d]shame, which say, Aha, aha.

But let all those that seek thee, be joyful and glad in thee, and let all that love thy salvation, say always, God be praised.

Now I am [e]poor and needy: O God, make haste to me: thou art my helper, and my deliverer: O Lord, make no tarrying.

Amos 4:6-13

And therefore have I given you [a]cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and scarceness of bread in all your places, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three [b]months to the harvest, and I caused it to rain upon one city, and have not caused it to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not, withered.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, but they were [c]not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: your great gardens and your vineyards, and your fig trees, and your olive trees did the palmerworm devour: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

10 Pestilence have I sent among you after the manner of [d]Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses: and I have made the stink of your tents to come up even into your nostrils, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

11 I have overthrown you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah: and ye were as a [e]firebrand plucked out of the burning, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do thus unto thee, prepare to [f]meet thy God, O Israel.

13 For lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought: which maketh the morning darkness, and walketh upon the high places of the earth, the Lord God of hosts is his Name.

Matthew 24:1-14

24 2 The destruction of the Temple. 4 The signs of Christ’s coming. 12 Iniquity. 23 False Christs. 29 The signs of the end of the world. 31 The Angels. 32 The fig tree. 37 The days of Noah. 42 We must watch. 45 The servant.

And (A)Jesus went out, and departed from the Temple, and his disciples came to him, to show him the building of the Temple.

[a]And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, (B)there shall not be here left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be cast down.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, his disciples came unto him apart, saying, Tell us when these things shall be, and what sign shall be of thy coming, and of the end of the world.

[b]And Jesus answered, and said unto them, (C)Take heed that no man deceive you.

For many shall come in my Name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many.

And ye shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not (D)troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the [c]end is not yet.

For nation shall rise against nation, and realm against realm, and there shall be famine, and pestilence, and earthquakes in [d]divers places.

All these are but the beginning of [e]sorrows.

(E)Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my Name’s sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall be increased, the love of many shall be cold.

13 (F)[f]But he that endureth to the end, he shall be saved.

14 And this [g]Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached through the whole [h]world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.
