Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
92 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High,
2 to show forth Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness every night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For Thou, Lord, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will triumph in the works of Thy hands.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing to show
15 that the Lord is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
15 A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright, but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction, but he that heedeth reproof is prudent.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but the revenues of the wicked bring trouble.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord, but He loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so will God bring with Him those also who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord: that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
17 then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
