Old/New Testament
A Flying Scroll
5 Then I lifted up my eyes again and saw, and behold, a flying (A)scroll. 2 And he said to me, “(B)What do you see?” And I said, “I see a flying scroll; its length is [a]twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.” 3 Then he said to me, “This is the (C)curse that is going forth over the face of the whole [b]land; surely everyone who (D)steals will be [c]purged away according to [d]the writing on one side, and everyone who (E)swears will be [e]purged away according to the writing on the other side. 4 I will (F)make it go forth,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “and it will (G)enter the house of the (H)thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and (I)consume it with its timber and stones.”
A Woman in an Ephah
5 Then (J)the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.” 6 So I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the [f](K)ephah going forth.” Again he said, “This is their [g]appearance in all the [h]land 7 (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah.” 8 Then he said, “This is (L)Wickedness!” And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and threw the lead weight on its [i]opening. 9 Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a (M)stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. 10 And I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?” 11 Then he said to me, “To build a [j]house for her in the land of (N)Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal.”
Four Chariots
6 Then I lifted up my eyes again and saw, and behold, (O)four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains. 2 With the first chariot were (P)red horses, with the second chariot (Q)black horses, 3 with the third chariot (R)white horses, and with the fourth chariot (S)dappled horses—all of them mighty. 4 Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “(T)What are these, my lord?” 5 And the angel answered and said to me, “These are the (U)four spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth, 6 with one of which the black horses are going forth to the (V)north country; and the white ones go forth after them, and the dappled ones go forth to the (W)south country. 7 Now the mighty ones went out, and they sought to go to [k](X)patrol the earth.” And He said, “Go, [l]patrol the earth.” So they [m]patrolled the earth. 8 Then He cried out to me and spoke to me saying, “See, those who are going to the land of the north have (Y)caused My Spirit to have rest in the land of the north.”
The Crown and the Temple
9 And the (Z)word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 10 “(AA)Take an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah; and you come the same day and come into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have come from Babylon. 11 And take silver and gold, make an ornate (AB)crown, and set it on the head of (AC)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. 12 Then you will say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “Behold, a man whose name is [n](AD)Branch, and He will [o](AE)branch out from where He is; and He will (AF)build the temple of Yahweh. 13 Indeed, it is He who will build the temple of Yahweh, and He who will (AG)bear the splendor and sit and (AH)rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a (AI)priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two [p]offices.”’ 14 Now the (AJ)crown will become a memorial in the temple of Yahweh to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and [q]Hen the son of Zephaniah. 15 (AK)And those who are far off will come and [r]build the temple of Yahweh.” Then you will (AL)know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. And it will happen if you utterly (AM)listen to the voice of Yahweh your God.
The People’s Hard Hearts
7 Now it happened that in the fourth year of King Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, which is (AN)Chislev. 2 And the town of Bethel sent Sharezer and Regemmelech and [s]their men to [t](AO)entreat the favor of Yahweh, 3 speaking to the (AP)priests, who belong to the house of Yahweh of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, “Shall I weep in the (AQ)fifth month [u]and abstain, as I have done these many years?” 4 Then the word of Yahweh of hosts came to me, saying, 5 “Speak to all the people of the land and to the priests, saying, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months [v]these (AR)seventy years, was it actually for (AS)Me that you fasted? 6 And when you eat and when you drink, [w]are you not eating for yourselves and are you not drinking for yourselves? 7 Are not these the words which Yahweh (AT)called out by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and (AU)at ease along with its cities around it, and the [x](AV)Negev and the [y]Shephelah were inhabited?’”
8 Then the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah saying, 9 “Thus has Yahweh of hosts said, ‘(AW)Judge with true justice and show (AX)lovingkindness and compassion each to his brother; 10 and (AY)do not oppress the widow or the [z]orphan, the sojourner or the afflicted; and do (AZ)not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’ 11 But they (BA)refused to give heed and [aa](BB)turned a stubborn shoulder and [ab](BC)dulled their ears from hearing. 12 And they made their (BD)hearts [ac](BE)diamond-hard [ad]so that they could not hear the law and the (BF)words which Yahweh of hosts had sent by His Spirit by the hand of the (BG)former prophets; therefore great (BH)wrath came from Yahweh of hosts. 13 And it happened that just as (BI)He called and they would not listen, so (BJ)they called and I would not listen,” says Yahweh of hosts; 14 “but I [ae](BK)scattered them with a (BL)storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known. Thus the land is (BM)desolated behind them [af]so that (BN)no one was passing through and returning, for they (BO)made the pleasant land desolate.”
Jerusalem, the City of Truth
8 Then the word of Yahweh of hosts came, saying, 2 “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘[ag]I am (BP)jealous with great jealousy for Zion, and with great wrath I am jealous for her.’ 3 Thus says Yahweh, ‘I will return to Zion and will (BQ)dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of (BR)Truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.’ 4 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘(BS)Old men and old women will again sit in the [ah]streets of Jerusalem, each man with his staff in his hand because of [ai]age. 5 And the [aj]streets of the city will be filled with (BT)boys and girls playing in its [ak]streets.’ 6 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘If it is [al](BU)too difficult in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, will it also be [am](BV)too difficult in My sight?’ declares Yahweh of hosts. 7 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘Behold, I am going to save My people from the land where the [an](BW)sun rises and from the land where the [ao]sun sets; 8 and I will (BX)bring them back, and they will (BY)dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be (BZ)My people, and I will be their God in [ap]truth and righteousness.’
9 “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘Let your hands be (CA)strong, you who are listening in these days to these words from the mouth of the (CB)prophets, those who spoke in the day that the foundation of the house of Yahweh of hosts was laid, to the end that the temple might be built. 10 For before those days there was (CC)no wage for man or any wage for animal; and for him who went out or came in there was no [aq](CD)peace because of the adversary, and I (CE)set all men one against another. 11 But now I will (CF)not [ar]treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ declares Yahweh of hosts. 12 ‘For there will be (CG)peace for the seed: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce, and the heavens will give their (CH)dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit (CI)all these things. 13 And it will be that just as you were a (CJ)curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you that you may become a (CK)blessing. Do not fear; let your (CL)hands be strong.’
14 “For thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘Just as I (CM)purposed to bring about evil to you when your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ says Yahweh of hosts, ‘and I have not (CN)relented, 15 so I have again purposed in these days to (CO)do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. (CP)Do not fear! 16 These are the things which you should do: speak the (CQ)truth to one another; (CR)judge with truth and judgment for peace in your [as]gates. 17 Also let none of you (CS)devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love [at](CT)false oaths; for all these are what I (CU)hate,’ declares Yahweh.”
18 Then the word of Yahweh of hosts came to me, saying, 19 “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘The fast of the (CV)fourth, the fast of the (CW)fifth, the fast of the (CX)seventh, and the fast of the (CY)tenth months will become (CZ)joy, gladness, and [au]merry appointed feasts for the house of Judah; so (DA)love truth and peace.’
20 “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘It will yet be that (DB)peoples will come, even the inhabitants of many cities. 21 The inhabitants of one will go to another, saying, “Let us go at once to [av](DC)entreat the favor of Yahweh and to seek Yahweh of hosts; [aw]I will also go.” 22 So (DD)many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem and to [ax](DE)entreat the favor of Yahweh.’ 23 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from every tongue of the nations will [ay](DF)take hold of the [az]garment of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’”
Hallelujah!
19 After these things I heard something like a (A)loud voice of a great crowd in heaven, saying,
“(B)Hallelujah! (C)Salvation and (D)glory and power belong to our God; 2 (E)because His (F)judgments are (G)true and righteous; for He has judged the (H)great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her sexual immorality, and He has (I)avenged the blood of His slaves shed by her hand.” 3 And a second time they said, “(J)Hallelujah! (K)Her smoke rises up forever and ever.” 4 And the (L)twenty-four elders and the (M)four living creatures (N)fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “(O)Amen. (P)Hallelujah!” 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying,
“(Q)Give praise to our God, all you His slaves, (R)you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6 Then I heard something like (S)the voice of a great crowd and like (T)the sound of many waters and like the (U)sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
“(V)Hallelujah! For the (W)Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and (X)give the glory to Him, for (Y)the marriage of the Lamb has come and His [a](Z)bride has made herself ready.” 8 And it was given to her to clothe herself in (AA)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the (AB)righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then (AC)he *said to me, “(AD)Write, ‘(AE)Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “(AF)These are true words of God.” 10 Then (AG)I fell at his feet to worship him. (AH)But he *said to me, “[b]Do not do that! I am a (AI)fellow slave with you and your brothers who (AJ)have the witness of Jesus. Worship God! For the witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
The Rider on a White Horse
11 Then I saw (AK)heaven opened, and behold, a (AL)white horse, and He who sits on it is called (AM)Faithful and True, and in (AN)righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His (AO)eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many (AP)diadems; having a (AQ)name written on Him which no one knows except Himself, 13 and being clothed with a (AR)garment dipped in blood, His name is also called (AS)The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in (AT)fine linen, (AU)white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 (AV)And from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may (AW)strike down the nations, and He will [c](AX)rule them with a rod of iron; and (AY)He treads the wine press of the wrath of the rage of God, the Almighty. 16 And He has on His garment and on His thigh (AZ)a name written, “(BA)KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
17 Then I saw [d]an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to (BB)all the birds which fly in (BC)midheaven, “(BD)Come, assemble for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may (BE)eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of [e]commanders and the flesh of strong men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, (BF)both free men and slaves, and (BG)small and great.”
19 Then I saw (BH)the beast and (BI)the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war with Him who (BJ)sits on the horse and with His army.
The Beast and False Prophet Are Seized
20 And the beast was seized, and with him the (BK)false prophet who (BL)did the signs [f](BM)in his presence, by which he (BN)deceived those who had received the (BO)mark of the beast and those who (BP)worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the (BQ)lake of (BR)fire which burns with [g]brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which (BS)came from the mouth of Him who (BT)sits on the horse, and (BU)all the birds were filled with their flesh.
