Revelation 14-16

The Lamb and the 144,000

14 Then I looked, and behold, (A)the Lamb was standing on (B)Mount Zion, and with Him (C)144,000, having (D)His name and the (E)name of His Father written (F)on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like (G)the sound of many waters and like the (H)sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of (I)harpists playing on their harps. And they *[a]sang (J)a new song before the throne and before the (K)four living creatures and the (L)elders. And (M)no one could learn that song except the (N)144,000 who had been (O)purchased from the earth. (P)These are the ones who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who (Q)follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been (R)purchased from among men (S)as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. And (T)no lie was found in their mouth; they are (U)blameless.

The Messages of the Three Angels

Then I saw another angel flying in (V)midheaven, having (W)an eternal gospel to proclaim to (X)those who [b]inhabit the earth, and to (Y)every nation and tribe and tongue and people. And he said with a loud voice, “(Z)Fear God, and (AA)give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who (AB)made the heaven and the earth and sea and (AC)springs of waters.”

And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “[c](AD)Fallen, fallen is (AE)Babylon the great, she who has (AF)made all the nations drink of the (AG)wine of the wrath of her [d]sexual immorality.”

Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone (AH)worships the beast and his (AI)image, and receives a (AJ)mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 and he also will drink of the (AK)wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed [e]in full strength (AL)in the cup of His rage, and he will be tormented with (AM)fire and [f]brimstone in the presence of the (AN)holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the (AO)smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; (AP)they have no rest day and night, those who (AQ)worship the beast and his (AR)image, and [g]whoever receives the (AS)mark of his name.” 12 Here is (AT)the perseverance of the saints who (AU)keep the commandments of God and [h](AV)their faith in Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘(AW)Blessed are the dead who (AX)die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” (AY)says the Spirit, “so that they may (AZ)rest from their labors, for their (BA)deeds follow with them.”

Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

14 Then I looked, and behold, a (BB)white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one (BC)like [i]a son of man, having a golden (BD)crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15 And another angel (BE)came out of the sanctuary, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sits on the cloud, “[j](BF)Put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the (BG)harvest of the earth [k]is ripe.” 16 Then He who sits on the cloud [l]swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel (BH)came out of the sanctuary which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 Then another angel, (BI)the one who has authority over fire, came out from (BJ)the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “[m](BK)Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters [n]from the vine of the earth, (BL)because her grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel [o]swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into (BM)the great wine press of the wrath of God. 20 And (BN)the wine press was trodden (BO)outside the city, and (BP)blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, [p]for a distance of [q]1,600 stadia.

Seven Angels, Seven Plagues

15 Then I saw (BQ)another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, (BR)seven angels who have (BS)seven plagues, which are (BT)the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.

Then I saw something like a (BU)sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who have (BV)overcome [r]the (BW)beast and (BX)his image and the (BY)number of his name, standing on the (BZ)sea of glass, having (CA)harps of God. And they *sang the (CB)song of Moses, (CC)the slave of God, and the (CD)song of the Lamb, saying,

(CE)Great and marvelous are Your works,
(CF)O [s]Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are Your ways,
(CG)King of the [t]nations!
(CH)Who will not fear, O [u]Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy;
For (CI)all the nations will come and worship before You,
For Your [v](CJ)righteous acts have been revealed.”

And after these things I looked, and (CK)the sanctuary of the (CL)tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened, and the (CM)seven angels who have the seven plagues (CN)came out of the sanctuary, clothed in [w]linen, clean and bright, and (CO)girded around their chests with golden sashes. Then one of the (CP)four living creatures gave to the (CQ)seven angels seven (CR)golden bowls full of the (CS)wrath of God, who (CT)lives forever and ever. And the sanctuary was filled with (CU)smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath

16 Then I heard a loud voice from (CV)the sanctuary, saying to the (CW)seven angels, “Go and (CX)pour out [x]on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

So the first angel went and poured out his bowl [y](CY)on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant (CZ)sore on the [z]people (DA)who have the mark of the beast and who worship his image.

And the second angel poured out his bowl (DB)into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living [aa]thing in the sea died.

Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the (DC)rivers and the springs of waters, and they (DD)became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “(DE)Righteous are You, (DF)who is and who was, O (DG)Holy One, because You (DH)judged these things; for they poured out (DI)the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them (DJ)blood to drink. They [ab]deserve it.” And I heard (DK)the altar saying, “Yes, O [ac](DL)Lord God, the Almighty, (DM)true and righteous are Your judgments.”

And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon (DN)the sun, (DO)and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with [ad]fierce heat, and they (DP)blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they (DQ)did not repent so as to (DR)give Him glory.

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the (DS)throne of the beast, and his kingdom became (DT)darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11 and they (DU)blasphemed the (DV)God of heaven because of their pains and their (DW)sores, and they (DX)did not repent of their deeds.

12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the (DY)great river, the Euphrates, and (DZ)its water was dried up, so that (EA)the way would be prepared for the kings (EB)from the [ae]east. 13 Then I saw coming out of the mouth of the (EC)dragon and out of the mouth of the (ED)beast and out of the mouth of the (EE)false prophet, three (EF)unclean spirits like (EG)frogs; 14 for they are (EH)spirits of demons, (EI)doing signs, which go out to the kings of the (EJ)whole [af]world, to (EK)gather them together for the war of the (EL)great day of God, the Almighty. 15 (“Behold, (EM)I am coming like a thief. (EN)Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his garments, (EO)so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”) 16 And they (EP)gathered them together to the place which (EQ)in Hebrew is called [ag](ER)Har-Magedon.

The Seventh Bowl

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon (ES)the air, and a (ET)loud voice came out of the (EU)sanctuary from the throne, saying, “(EV)It is done.” 18 And there were flashes of (EW)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was (EX)a great earthquake, (EY)such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 (EZ)And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the [ah]nations fell. (FA)Babylon the great was (FB)remembered before God, to give her (FC)the cup of the wine of the wrath of His rage. 20 And (FD)every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And (FE)huge [ai]hailstones, about one [aj]talent each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men (FF)blasphemed God because of the (FG)plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely [ak]severe.
