17 Thus says Yahweh, “(A)By this you shall know that I am Yahweh: behold, I am about to strike [a]the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and (B)it will be turned to blood. 18 (C)And the fish that are in the Nile will die, and the Nile will [b]become foul, and the Egyptians will (D)be weary of drinking water from the Nile.”’” 19 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and (E)stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their [c]streams, and over their pools and over all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”

20 So Moses and Aaron did thus, as Yahweh had commanded. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.

10 And the third angel sounded, and a great star (F)fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a (G)third of the rivers and on the (H)springs of waters. 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood; and a (I)third of the waters became (J)wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 And the fourth angel sounded, and a (K)third of the (L)sun and a third of the (M)moon and a (N)third of the (O)stars were struck, so that a (P)third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a (Q)third of it, and the night in the same way.

13 Then I looked, and I heard [a]an eagle flying in (R)midheaven, saying with a loud voice, “(S)Woe, woe, woe to (T)those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the (U)three angels who are about to sound!”

These have the authority to (A)shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during (B)the days of their prophesying; they also have authority over the waters to (C)turn them into blood, and (D)to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they wish.
