Deuteronomy 19

19 “When the LORD your God shall root out the nations whose land the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess them and dwell in their cities and in their houses,

“you shall separate three cities for yourself in the midst of your land which the LORD your God gives you to possess.

“You shall prepare the way for yourself and divide the coasts of the land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit into three parts, so that every manslayer may flee there.

“This also is the cause for which the manslayer shall flee there and live: whoever kills his neighbor ignorantly and did not hate him in time past —

“as he who goes to the forest with his neighbor to cut wood and his hand strikes with the axe to cut down the tree, if the head slips from the helve and hits his neighbor so that he dies—the same shall flee to one of the cities and live;

“lest the avenger of the blood follows after the manslayer while his heart is hot and overtakes him (because the way is long) and kills him, although he is not worthy of death because he did not hate him in time past.

“Therefore I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall separate three cities for yourself.’

“And when the LORD your God enlarges your coasts (as He has sworn to your fathers) and gives you all the land which He promised to give to your fathers

“(if you keep all these Commandments, to do them, which I command you this day: that you love the LORD your God and walk in His ways forever), then you shall add three more cities for yourselves besides those three,

10 “so that no innocent blood is shed within your land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit (lest blood be upon you).

11 “But, if a man hates his neighbor and lays in wait for him and rises up against him and strikes any man so that he dies and flee to any of these cities,

12 “then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him from there and deliver him to the hands of the avenger of the blood, so that he may die.

13 “Your eye shall not spare him, but you shall put away the cry of innocent blood from Israel, so that it may go well with you.

14 “You shall not remove your neighbor’s border, which those of old time have set in your inheritance, so that you shall inherit in the land which the LORD your God gives you to possess.

15 “One witness shall not rise against a man for any trespass, or for any sin, or for any fault in which he offends. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

16 “If a false witness rises up against a man to accuse him of trespass,

17 “then both men who strive together shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days.

18 “And the judges shall make diligent inquisition. And if the witness is found false (has given false witness against his brother),

19 “then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother. So you shall take away evil from among you.

20 “And the rest shall hear and fear and shall no longer commit any such wickedness among you.

21 “Therefore, your eye shall have no compassion: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”

Psalm 106

106 Praise the LORD because He is good; for His mercy endures forever!

Who can express the noble acts of the LORD, or proclaim all His praise?

Blessed are those who guard justice and do righteousness at all times.

Remember me, O LORD, with the favor of Your people. Visit me with Your salvation,

so that I may see the good things of Your chosen and rejoice in the joy of Your people, and glory with Your inheritance.

We have sinned with our Fathers. We have committed iniquity and done wickedly.

Our Fathers did not understand Your wonders in Egypt, nor did they remember the multitude of Your mercies; but they rebelled at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

Nevertheless, He saved them for His Name’s sake, so that He might make His power known.

And He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; and He led them through the deep, as through the wilderness.

10 And He saved them from the adversary’s hand and delivered them from the hand of the enemy.

11 And the waters covered their oppressors. Not one of them was left.

12 Then they believed His words and sang praise to Him.

13 But they soon forgot His works. They did not wait for His counsel,

14 but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted God in the desert.

15 Then He gave them their desire. But He sent leanness into their soul.

16 They also envied Moses in the tents, and Aaron, the saint of the LORD.

17 The Earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

18 And the fire was kindled in their assembly; the flame burnt up the wicked.

19 They made a calf in Horeb and worshipped the molten image.

20 Thus, they turned their glory into the likeness of a bullock that eats grass.

21 They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,

22 wondrous works in the land of Ham, and fearful things by the Red Sea.

23 Therefore, He intended to destroy them had not Moses, His chosen, stood in the breach before Him, to turn away His wrath lest He should destroy them.

24 Also, they despised that pleasant land and did not believe His word,

25 but murmured in their tents and did not listen to the voice of the LORD.

26 Therefore, He lifted up His hand against them to destroy them in the wilderness,

27 and to destroy their seed among the nations, and to scatter them throughout the countries.

28 They also joined themselves to Baal of Peor and ate the offerings of the dead.

29 Thus, they provoked Him to anger with their own inventions; and the plague broke in upon them.

30 But, Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, and the plague was stopped.

31 And it was counted to him for righteousness, from generation to generation, forever.

32 They also angered Him at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was punished for their sakes

33 (because they troubled his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips).

34 Nor did they destroy the people, as the LORD had commanded them,

35 but mingled among the heathen and learned their works

36 and served their idols, which was their ruin.

37 Indeed, they offered their sons and their daughters to demons,

38 and shed innocent blood—the blood of their sons and of their daughters whom they offered to the idols of Canaan—and the land was defiled with blood.

39 Thus, they were stained with their own works and went a-whoring with their own inventions.

40 Therefore, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against His people; and He abhorred His own inheritance.

41 And He gave them into the hand of the heathen; and those who hated them were lords over them.

42 Also, their enemies oppressed them; and they were humbled under their hand.

43 Many a time did He deliver them, but they provoked Him by their counsel. Therefore, they were brought down by their iniquity.

44 Yet, He saw when they were in affliction and He heard their cry.

45 And He remembered His Covenant toward them and repented, according to the multitude of His mercies,

46 and gave them favor in the sight of all those who had carried them away captive.

47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, so that we may praise Your Holy Name and glory in Your praise.

48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, forever and ever; and let all the people say, “So be it! Praise the LORD!”

Isaiah 46

46 Bel has bowed down. Nebo falls. Their idols were upon their beasts, and upon the cattle. Those who bore you were laden with a weary burden.

They have bowed down, fallen together, for they could not rid themselves of the burden. And their soul has gone into captivity.

“Hear Me, O House of Jacob, and all who remain from the House of Israel, who are born of Me from the womb and brought up by Me from birth.

“Even to old age, I am the same. I will bear you until the hoary hairs. I have made you. I will also bear you, and I will carry you, and I will deliver you.

“Whom will you make Me like, or make me equal to, or compare me to, so that I would be like him?

“They draw gold out of the bag and weigh silver in the balance, hire a goldsmith to make a god of it. They bow down and worship it.

“They bear it upon their shoulders. They carry him and set him in his place. So he stands, and cannot leave his place. Though one cries to him, yet he cannot answer or deliver him out of his tribulation.

“Remember this and be ashamed. Bring it back to mind, O you transgressors.

“Remember the former things from long ago. For I am God. And there is no other God. And there is nothing like Me,

10 “Who declares the last thing from the beginning, and things long ago that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand. And I will do whatever I will.’

11 “I call a bird from the east, and the man of My counsel from afar. As I have spoken, so will I bring it to pass. I have determined it and I will do it.

12 “Hear Me, you stubborn-hearted, who are far from justice!

13 “I bring near My justice. It shall not be far off. And My salvation shall not delay. For I will give salvation in Zion, and My Glory to Israel.”

Revelation 16

16 And I heard a great voice out of the Temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven vials of the wrath of God upon the Earth!”

And the first went and poured out his vial upon the Earth. And there fell an evil and grievous sore upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and upon those who worshipped his image.

And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea. And it became like the blood of a dead man. And every living thing in the sea died.

And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters. And they became blood.

And I heard the angel of the waters say, “Lord, You are just - Who are, and Who was - and Holy, because You have judged these things.

For they shed the blood of the saints and Prophets. And therefore have you given them blood to drink. For they are worthy.”

And I heard another say from the Sanctuary, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”

And the fourth angel poured out his vial on the Sun. And it was given to him to torment man with the heat of fire.

And man boiled in great heat and blasphemed the Name of God, Who has power over these plagues. And they did not repent, to give Him glory.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the throne of the beast, and the kingdom grew dark. And they gnawed their tongues for sorrow.

11 And blasphemed the God of Heaven for their pains, and for their sores, and did not repent of their works.

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates. And the water thereof dried up, so the way of the Kings of the East would be prepared.

13 And I saw three unclean spirits, like frogs, come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles to go to the kings of the Earth; and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle on that great Day of God Almighty.

15 “Behold I come as a thief. Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and man sees his filthiness.”

16 And they gathered together into a place called ‘Armageddon’ in Hebrew.

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air. And there came a loud voice out of the Temple of Heaven from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

18 And there were voices and thunderings and lightnings. And there was a great earthquake unlike any since man has been upon the Earth, such a mighty an earthquake it was.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts. And the cities of the nations fell. And God as reminded of the great Babylon; to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

20 And every isle fled away. And the mountains were not found.

21 And there fell great hail - the weight of a talent - out of Heaven upon man. And man blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail. For the plague thereof was exceedingly great.
