Daily Gifts on the Altar

28 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the people of Israel, ‘Be careful to bring My gift, My food for My gifts by fire, as a pleasing smell to me, at the right time.’ And say to them, ‘This is the gift by fire which you must give to the Lord. Give two perfect male lambs one year old, as a burnt gift every day. Give one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb in the evening. And give a tenth part of a basket of fine flour for a grain gift, mixed with a fourth part of a jar of beaten oil. It is a burnt gift which was set apart at Mount Sinai as a pleasing smell, a gift by fire always to the Lord. Its drink gift will be a fourth part of a jar for each lamb. Pour out a drink gift of strong drink to the Lord in the holy place. Give the other lamb in the evening. Like the grain gift of the morning, and like its drink gift, you will give it as a gift by fire. It is a pleasing smell to the Lord.

Day of Rest Gifts

‘On the Day of Rest give a gift of two perfect male lambs one year old. With it give two-tenths part of a basket of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift, and its drink gift. 10 The burnt gift of every Day of Rest is to be added to the burnt gift which is always given and its drink gift.

Gifts Each Month

11 ‘Then you must give a burnt gift to the Lord at the beginning of your months. Give two bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old that are perfect. 12 Give three-tenths part of a basket of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift for each bull. Give two-tenths part of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift for the one ram. 13 And give a tenth part of a basket of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift for each lamb. They are to be given for a burnt gift of a pleasing smell, a gift by fire to the Lord. 14 Their drink gifts will be half a jar of wine for a bull, a third of a jar for the ram, and a fourth part of a jar for a lamb. This is the burnt gift of each month for all the months of the year. 15 And give one male goat for a sin gift to the Lord. It will be given with its drink gift, besides each day’s burnt gift.

Gifts at Passover

16 ‘The fourteenth day of the first month will be the Lord’s Passover. 17 A special supper will be on the fifteenth day of this month. Bread without yeast will be eaten for seven days. 18 On the first day will be a holy gathering. You must do no hard work. 19 You will give a gift by fire, a burnt gift to the Lord. It will be two bulls, one ram, and seven perfect male lambs one year old. 20 And give fine flour mixed with oil for their grain gift. Give three-tenths part of a basket for a bull, two-tenths part for a ram, 21 and a tenth part of a basket for each of the seven lambs. 22 Then give one male goat for a sin gift, to pay for your sins. 23 Give these besides the burnt gift of the morning, which is each day’s burnt gift. 24 Give the food of the gift by fire in this way each day for seven days, as a pleasing smell to the Lord. Give it with its drink gift, besides each day’s burnt gift. 25 And on the seventh day you will have a holy gathering. You must do no hard work.

Gifts at Supper of Weeks

26 ‘You will have a holy gathering on the day of the first-fruits also. This is when you will bring a gift of new grain to the Lord in your Special Supper of Weeks. You must do no hard work. 27 And you will give for a pleasing smell to the Lord a burnt gift of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old. 28 Give fine flour mixed with oil for their grain gift. Give three-tenths part of a basket for each bull, two-tenths part for the one ram, 29 and a tenth part for each of the seven lambs. 30 And give one male goat to pay for your sins. 31 These gifts should be besides each day’s burnt gift and its grain gift. Give them with their drink gifts. The animals must be perfect.

Psalm 72

A Prayer for the King

72 O God, make the king right in what he decides. Make the king’s son right with You. May he be right when he decides who is right and who is wrong and may he be fair to the poor. Let mountains and hills bring peace to the people through what is right and good. May he stand by those who are poor, save the children of those in need, and destroy the bad power over them.

May all the children-to-come fear You as long as the sun and the moon last. May He come down like rain upon the cut grass, like rain that waters the earth. In His days may all go well with those who are right and good. And may there be much peace until the moon is no more.

May he also rule from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. Those who live in the desert will put their faces to the ground before Him. And those who hate Him will kiss the dust. 10 Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring gifts. Let the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts. 11 Yes, let all kings fall down at His feet, and all nations serve Him.

12 For He will take out of trouble the one in need when he cries for help, and the poor man who has no one to help. 13 He will have loving-pity on the weak and those in need. He will save the lives of those in need. 14 He will take them from the bad power that is held over them and from being hurt. Their blood will be of much worth in His eyes. 15 He will live, and the gold of Sheba will be given to Him. Prayer will be given for Him all the time. Let them honor Him all day long.

16 May there be much grain in the land on top of the mountains. May its fruit grow like the trees of Lebanon. And may those of the city grow like the grass of the earth. 17 May His name last forever. May His name become bigger as long as the sun shines. And let men respect themselves through Him. Let all nations honor Him.

18 Honor and thanks be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone does great things. 19 And honor be to His great name forever. May the whole earth be filled with His shining-greatness. Let it be so.

20 The prayers of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.

Isaiah 19-20

Word about Egypt

19 The special word about Egypt: See, the Lord is traveling on a fast cloud and is coming to Egypt. The false gods of Egypt shake in fear before Him. The hearts of the Egyptians become weak. “I will make Egyptians go against Egyptians. Each of them will fight against his brother, and each against his neighbor. City will fight against city, and nation against nation. Then the spirit of the Egyptians will become weak within them. And I will bring their plans to nothing. They will go to false gods and spirits of the dead for help, and to those who speak with spirits of the dead and use their secret ways. Then I will give the Egyptians into the hand of a bad ruler. An angry king will rule over them,” says the Lord God of All.

The waters of the sea will dry up. The river will become dry. Manmade rivers will smell bad. The small rivers of Egypt will dry up. And the plants by the rivers will waste away. The grass by the side of the Nile and all that is planted by the Nile will become dry, will be driven away, and be no more. The fishermen will cry in sorrow. All those who fish for a living in the Nile River will be filled with sorrow. And those who put out nets on its waters will become weak. Those who make linen and white cloth will be very troubled. 10 The pillars of Egypt will be crushed. All the able workmen will be filled with sorrow.

11 The king’s sons of Zoan are very foolish. The words of Pharaoh’s wisest men are foolish words. How can you men say to Pharaoh, “I am a son of the wise, a son of early kings”? 12 Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you. And let them understand what the Lord of All has planned against Egypt. 13 The king’s sons of Zoan have become fools. The king’s sons of Memphis have been fooled. The heads of her family groups have led Egypt from the right way. 14 The Lord has mixed a troubled spirit within her. They have led Egypt the wrong way in all that it does, as a drunk man walks from side to side in what he has spit up. 15 And there will be no work in Egypt and nothing can be done by anyone, its head or tail, its palm branch or river-grass.

Good Will Come to Egypt, Assyria and Israel

16 In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will shake with fear because of the hand which the Lord of All is going to wave over them. 17 The land of Judah will fill Egypt with fear. Whoever hears its name will be afraid of it, because of the plan which the Lord of All is making against them.

18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and promising to follow the Lord of All. One will be called the City of Destruction.

19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the center of the land of Egypt, and an altar to the Lord by the side of its land. 20 It will be something special to see, to make the Lord of All known in the land of Egypt. For they will cry to the Lord because of those who make it hard for them. And He will send a Powerful One to save them, and He will take them out of trouble. 21 The Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and in that day the Egyptians will know the Lord. They will even worship with gifts on the altar. They will make promises to the Lord and keep them. 22 And the Lord will punish Egypt, but then He will heal them. So they will return to the Lord, and He will answer their prayers and heal them.

23 In that day there will be a road from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians will go to Assyria. The Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

24 In that day Israel will be the third country with Egypt and Assyria, a good and respected nation on the earth, 25 to whom the Lord of All has brought good, saying, “Good will come to Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My chosen people.”

Word about Egypt and Cush

20 In the year that Sargon the king of Assyria sent his head captain to fight against Ashdod, he took it in battle. At that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go and take off the clothes made from hair, and take your shoes off your feet.” And he did so, going without clothes and shoes. The Lord said, “My servant Isaiah has gone without clothing and shoes for three years as something special to be seen against Egypt and Cush. So the king of Assyria will take away the people of Egypt and Cush, young and old, without clothes or shoes. Their bodies will not be covered, to the shame of Egypt. Then they will be ashamed and troubled because of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride. The people living on this island will say in that day, ‘See, this is what has happened to those in whom we hoped, and to whom we ran for help to be saved from the king of Assyria. Now how can we get away?’”

2 Peter 1

This letter is from Simon Peter. I am a missionary of Jesus Christ and a servant owned by Him. I am writing to those who have received the same faith as ours which is of great worth and which no amount of money can buy. This faith comes from our God and Jesus Christ, the One Who saves. May you have more and more of His loving-favor and peace as you come to know God and our Lord Jesus Christ better.

Christians Are to Grow

He gives us everything we need for life and for holy living. He gives it through His great power. As we come to know Him better, we learn that He called us to share His own shining-greatness and perfect life. Through His shining-greatness and perfect life, He has given us promises. These promises are of great worth and no amount of money can buy them. Through these promises you can have God’s own life in you now that you have gotten away from the sinful things of the world which came from wrong desires of the flesh.

Do your best to add holy living to your faith. Then add to this a better understanding. As you have a better understanding, be able to say no when you need to. Do not give up. And as you wait and do not give up, live God-like. As you live God-like, be kind to Christian brothers and love them. If you have all these things and keep growing in them, they will keep you from being of no use and from having no fruit when it comes to knowing our Lord Jesus Christ. But if you do not have these things, you are blind and cannot see far. You forget God saved you from your old life of sin. 10 Christian brothers, make sure you are among those He has chosen and called out for His own. As long as you do these things, you will never trip and fall. 11 In this way, the road will be made wide open for you. And you will go into the holy nation that lasts forever of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One Who saves.

12 You already know about these things but I want to keep telling you about them. You are strong in the faith now. 13 I think it is right as long as I am alive to keep you thinking about these things. 14 I know that I will soon be leaving this body. Our Lord Jesus Christ has told me this. 15 I will try to make a way for you to remember these things after I am gone.

16 We had nothing to do with man-made stories when we told you about the power of our Lord Jesus Christ and of His coming again. We have seen His great power with our own eyes. 17 When He received honor and shining-greatness from God the Father, a voice came to Him from the All-powerful God, saying, “This is My much-loved Son. I am very happy with Him.” 18 We heard this voice come from heaven when we were with Christ on the holy mountain.

19 All this helps us know that what the early preachers said was true. You will do well to listen to what they have said. Their words are as lights that shine in a dark place. Listen until you understand what they have said. Then it will be like the morning light which takes away the darkness. And the Morning Star (Christ) will rise to shine in your hearts.

20 Understand this first: No part of the Holy Writings was ever made up by any man. 21 No part of the Holy Writings came long ago because of what man wanted to write. But holy men who belonged to God spoke what the Holy Spirit told them.
