Psalm 3-4

LORD, how my adversaries are increased? How many rise against me?

Many say to my soul, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah.

But You, LORD, are a buckler for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

I called to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His Holy Mountain. Selah.

I laid down and slept; and rose up again. For the LORD sustained me.

I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who should beset me all around.

O LORD, arise! Help me, my God! For You have struck all my enemies upon the cheekbone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

Salvation belongs to the LORD. And Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah. To him who excels on Neginoth: A Psalm of David.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You have set me at liberty when I was in distress. Have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.

O you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame, loving vanity and seeking lies? Selah.

But know that the LORD has chosen for Himself a godly man. The LORD will hear when I call to Him.

Tremble and do not sin. Examine your own heart upon your bed and be still. Selah.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD.

Many say, “Who will show us good?” LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

You have given me more joy of heart than when their wheat and their wine abounded.

I will lay down, and also sleep, in peace. For You only, LORD, make me dwell in safety. To him who excels upon Nehiloth: A Psalm of David.

Psalm 12-13

12 Help, LORD! For there is not a godly man left. For the faithful have failed from among the children of men.

They speak deceitfully, everyone with his neighbor; flattering with their lips, speaking with a double heart.

The LORD cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things,

which have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?”

“Now, for the oppression of the needy, for the sighs of the poor, I will arise;” says the LORD, “and will speak their deliverance.”

The Words of the LORD are pure Words, as silver, tried in a furnace of earth; refined sevenfold.

You will keep them, O LORD. You will preserve him from this generation, forever.

The wicked walk on every side. When they are exalted, it is a shame for the sons of men. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.

13 How long will You forget me, O LORD? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

How long shall I take counsel within myself, having weariness daily in my heart? How long shall my enemy be exalted above me?

Behold. Hear me, O LORD, my God. Enlighten my eyes, so that I do not sleep in death,

lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him.” And those who afflict me rejoice when I slide.

But I trust in Your mercy. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt lovingly with me. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.

Psalm 28

28 To You, O LORD, do I cry. O my strength, do not be deaf toward me; lest if You do not answer me, I be like those who go down into the pit.

Hear the voice of my petitions when I cry to You, when I hold up my hands toward Your Holy Oracle.

Do not draw me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak friendly to their neighbors when malice is in their hearts.

Reward them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Recompense them for the work of their hands. Render them their reward.

For they do not reward the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands. Break them down and do not build them up.

Praised be the LORD, for He has heard the voice of my petitions.

The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted in Him, and I was helped. Therefore, my heart shall rejoice; and with my song I will praise Him.

The LORD is their strength; and He is the strength of the deliverances of His anointed.

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance. Feed them, also, and exalt them forever. A Psalm of David.

Psalm 55

55 Hear my prayer, O God, and do not hide Yourself from my supplication.

Hear me and answer me. I mourn in my prayer and make a noise

for the voice of the enemy, for the troubling of the wicked; because they have brought iniquity upon me and furiously hate me.

My heart trembles within me; and the terrors of death have fallen upon me.

Fear and trembling have come upon me; and a horrible fear has covered me.

And I said, “Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then I would fly away and rest!

“Behold, I would wander far off and lodge in the wilderness. Selah.

“He would hurry for my deliverance from the stormy wind and tempest.”

Destroy, O LORD, and divide their tongues; for I have seen cruelty and strife in the city.

10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof. Both iniquity and mischief are in the midst of it.

11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof. Deceit and guile do not depart from her streets.

12 Surely my enemy did not defame me (for I could have borne it); nor did my adversary exalt himself against me (for I would have hidden myself from him).

13 But it was you, O man, even my companion, my guide, and my intimate.

14 We delighted in consulting together; and went into the House of God as companions.

15 Let death seize them. Let them go down quick into the grave; for wickedness is in their dwellings, even in the midst of them.

16 I will call to God and the LORD will save me.

17 Evening and morning, and at noon, I will pray and make a noise; and He will hear my voice.

18 He has delivered my soul in peace from the battle against me, for many were with me.

19 God shall hear and afflict them, even He Who reigns of old. Selah. Because they do not change, therefore they do not fear God.

20 He laid his hand upon such who are at peace with Him. He broke His Covenant.

21 The words of his mouth were softer than butter; yet war was in his heart. His words were more gentle than oil; yet they were swords.

22 Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He shall nourish you. He will not allow the righteous to fall forever.

23 And You, O God, shall bring them down into the pit of corruption. The bloody and deceitful men shall not live half their days. But I will trust in You. To him who excels: A Psalm of David on Michtam, concerning the dumb dove in a far country, when the Philistines took him in Gath
