His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
4 For (E)great is the Lord and (F)greatly to be praised;
He is to be (G)feared (H)above all gods.
5 For (I)all the gods of the peoples are [a]idols,
But (J)the Lord made the heavens.
6 (K)Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 [b]Ascribe to the Lord, O (L)families of the peoples,

Indeed, the (S)world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will (T)judge the peoples with [g]equity.”
11 Let the (U)heavens be glad, and let the (V)earth rejoice;
Let (W)the sea [h]roar, and [i]all it contains;
12 Let the (X)field exult, and all that is in it.
Then all the (Y)trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the Lord, (Z)for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
(AA)He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.
The Lord’s Power and Dominion.
97 (AB)The Lord [j]reigns, let the (AC)earth rejoice;
Let the many [k](AD)islands be glad.
2 (AE)Clouds and thick darkness surround Him;
(AF)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 (AG)Fire goes before Him
And (AH)burns up His adversaries round about.
4 His (AI)lightnings lit up the world;
The earth saw and (AJ)trembled.
5 The mountains (AK)melted like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the (AL)Lord of the whole earth.
6 The (AM)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (AN)all the peoples have seen His glory.
7 Let all those be ashamed who serve (AO)graven images,
Who boast themselves of (AP)idols;
[l](AQ)Worship Him, all you [m]gods.
8 Zion [n]heard this and (AR)was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
9 For You are the Lord (AS)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (AT)above all [o]gods.
10 (AU)Hate evil, you who love the Lord,
Who (AV)preserves the souls of His godly ones;
He (AW)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (AX)Light is sown like seed for the righteous
And (AY)gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be (AZ)glad in the Lord, you righteous ones,
And (BA)give thanks [p]to His holy name.
A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness.
A Psalm.
98 O sing to the Lord a (BB)new song,
For He has done (BC)wonderful things,
His (BD)right hand and His (BE)holy arm have [q]gained the victory for Him.
2 (BF)The Lord has made known His salvation;
He has (BG)revealed His [r]righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has (BH)remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(BI)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 (BJ)Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
(BK)Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.
5 Sing praises to the Lord with the (BL)lyre,
With the lyre and the [s](BM)sound of melody.
6 With (BN)trumpets and the sound of the horn
(BO)Shout joyfully before (BP)the King, the Lord.
7 Let the (BQ)sea roar and [t]all it contains,
The (BR)world and those who dwell in it.
8 Let the (BS)rivers clap their hands,
Let the (BT)mountains sing together for joy
9 Before the Lord, for He is coming to (BU)judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And (BV)the peoples with [u]equity.
Praise to the Lord for His Fidelity to Israel.
99 (BW)The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He [v](BX)is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!
2 The Lord [w]is (BY)great in Zion,
And He is (BZ)exalted above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise Your (CA)great and awesome name;
(CB)Holy is [x]He.
4 The [y]strength of the King (CC)loves [z]justice;
You have established [aa](CD)equity;
You have (CE)executed [ab]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 [ac](CF)Exalt the Lord our God
And (CG)worship at His footstool;
(CH)Holy is He.
6 (CI)Moses and Aaron were among His (CJ)priests,
And (CK)Samuel was among those who (CL)called on His name;
They (CM)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
7 He (CN)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (CO)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
8 O Lord our God, You (CP)answered them;
You were a (CQ)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (CR)avenger of their evil deeds.
9 Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For holy is the Lord our God.
All Men Exhorted to Praise God.

2 (CT)Serve the Lord with gladness;

We are (CX)His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates (CY)with [ag]thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, (CZ)bless His name.
5 For (DA)the Lord is good;
(DB)His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His (DC)faithfulness to all generations.
The Psalmist’s Profession of Uprightness.
A Psalm of David.
101 I will (DD)sing of lovingkindness and [ah]justice,
To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
2 I will [ai](DE)give heed to the [aj]blameless way.
When will You come to me?
I will walk within my house in the [ak](DF)integrity of my heart.
3 I will set no (DG)worthless thing before my eyes;
I hate the [al]work of those who (DH)fall away;
It shall not fasten its grip on me.
4 A (DI)perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will know no evil.
5 Whoever secretly (DJ)slanders his neighbor, him I will [am]destroy;
No one who has a (DK)haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.
6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a [an](DL)blameless way is the one who will minister to me.
7 He who (DM)practices deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who speaks falsehood (DN)shall not [ao]maintain his position before me.
8 (DO)Every morning I will [ap](DP)destroy all the wicked of the land,
So as to (DQ)cut off from the (DR)city of the Lord all those who do iniquity.
Prayer of an Afflicted Man for Mercy on Himself and on Zion.
A Prayer of the Afflicted when he is faint and [aq]pours out his complaint before the Lord.
102 (DS)Hear my prayer, O Lord!
And let my cry for help (DT)come to You.
2 (DU)Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;
(DV)Incline Your ear to me;
In the day when I call (DW)answer me quickly.
3 For my days (DX)have been [ar]consumed in smoke,
And my (DY)bones have been scorched like a hearth.
4 My heart (DZ)has been smitten like [as]grass and has (EA)withered away,
Indeed, I (EB)forget to eat my bread.
5 Because of the [at]loudness of my groaning
My (EC)bones [au]cling to my flesh.
6 I [av]resemble a (ED)pelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.
7 I (EE)lie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.
8 My enemies (EF)have reproached me all day long;
Those who [aw](EG)deride me [ax]have used my name as a (EH)curse.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread
And (EI)mingled my drink with weeping
10 (EJ)Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have (EK)lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a [ay](EL)lengthened shadow,
And [az]I (EM)wither away like [ba]grass.
12 But You, O Lord, [bb](EN)abide forever,
And Your [bc](EO)name to all generations.
13 You will (EP)arise and have (EQ)compassion on Zion;
For (ER)it is time to be gracious to her,
For the (ES)appointed time has come.
14 Surely Your servants [bd]find pleasure in her stones
And feel pity for her dust.
15 [be]So the [bf](ET)nations will fear the name of the Lord
And (EU)all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For the Lord has (EV)built up Zion;
He has (EW)appeared in His glory.
17 He has (EX)regarded the prayer of the [bg]destitute
And has not despised their prayer.
18 [bh]This will be (EY)written for the (EZ)generation to come,
[bi]That (FA)a people yet to be created [bj]may praise [bk]the Lord.
19 For He (FB)looked down from His holy height;
(FC)From heaven the Lord gazed [bl]upon the earth,
20 To hear the (FD)groaning of the prisoner,
To (FE)set free [bm]those who were doomed to death,
21 That men may (FF)tell of the name of the Lord in Zion
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When (FG)the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23 He has weakened my strength in the way;
He has (FH)shortened my days.
24 I say, “O my God, (FI)do not take me away in the [bn]midst of my days,
Your (FJ)years are throughout all generations.
25 “Of old You (FK)founded the earth,
And the (FL)heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 “[bo]Even they will (FM)perish, but You endure;
And all of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27 “But You are [bp](FN)the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.
28 “The (FO)children of Your servants will continue,
And their [bq](FP)descendants will be established before You.”
