Psalm 119:145-176

KOPH

145 I have [a]cried with my whole heart: hear me, O Lord, and I will keep thy statutes.

146 I called upon thee: save me, and I will keep thy testimonies.

147 I prevented the morning light, and cried: for I waited on thy word.

148 Mine eyes [b]prevent the night watches, to meditate in thy word.

149 Hear my voice according to thy loving kindness: O Lord, quicken me according to thy [c]judgment.

150 They draw near that follow after [d]malice, and are far from thy Law.

151 Thou art near, O Lord: for all thy commandments are true.

152 I have known long since [e]by thy testimonies, that thou hast established them forever.

RESH

153 Behold mine affliction, and deliver me: for I have not forgotten thy law.

154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according unto thy [f]word.

155 Salvation is far from the wicked, because they seek not thy statutes.

156 Great art thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken me according to thy [g]judgments.

157 My persecutors and mine oppressors are many: yet do I not swerve from thy testimonies.

158 I saw the transgressors and was [h]grieved, because they kept not thy word.

159 Consider, O Lord, how I [i]love thy precepts: quicken me according to thy loving kindness.

160 The [j]beginning of thy word is truth, and all the judgments of thy righteousness endure forever.

SCHIN

161 Princes have [k]persecuted me without cause: but mine heart stood in awe of thy words.

162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth a great spoil.

163 I hate falsehood and abhor it, but thy Law do I love.

164 [l]Seven times a day do I praise thee, because of thy righteous judgments.

165 They that [m]love thy law, shall have great prosperity, and they shall have none hurt.

166 Lord, I have [n]trusted in thy salvation, and have done thy commandments.

167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies: for I love them exceedingly.

168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: [o]for all my ways are before thee.

TAU

169 Let my complaint come before thee, O Lord, and give me understanding [p]according unto thy word.

170 Let my supplication come before thee, and deliver me according to thy promise.

171 My lips shall [q]speak praise, when thou hast [r]taught me thy statutes.

172 My tongue shall entreat of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteous.

173 Let thine hand help me: for I have chosen thy precepts.

174 I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord, and thy Law is my delight.

175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee, and thy [s]judgments shall help me.

176 I have [t]gone astray like a lost sheep: seek thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments.

Psalm 128-130

128 He showeth that blessedness appertaineth not to all universally, but to them only that fear the Lord, and walk in his ways.

A song of degrees.

Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, and walketh in his [a]ways.

When thou eatest the labors of thine [b]hands, thou shalt be blessed, and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as the fruitful vine on the sides of thine house, and thy [c]children like the olive plants round about thy table.

Lo, surely thus shall the man be blessed, that feareth the Lord.

The Lord out of Zion shall [d]bless thee, and thou shalt see the wealth of [e]Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

129 1 He admonisheth the Church to rejoice though it be afflicted. 4 For by the righteous Lord it shall be delivered. 6 And the enemies for all their glorious show, shall suddenly be destroyed.

A song of degrees.

They have oftentimes afflicted me from my youth (may [f]Israel now say)

They have oftentimes afflicted me from my youth: but they could not prevail against me.

The plowers plowed upon my back, and made long furrows.

But the [g]righteous Lord hath cut the cords of the wicked.

They that hate Zion, shall be all ashamed and turned backward.

[h]They shall be as the grass on the house tops, which withereth afore it cometh forth.

Whereof the mower filleth not his hand, neither the gleaner his lap:

[i]Neither they which go by, say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you, or, We bless you in the Name of the Lord.

130 The people of God from their bottomless miseries do cry unto God, and are heard. 3 They confess their sins, and flee unto God’s mercies.

A song of degrees.

Out of the [j]deep places have I called unto thee, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears attend to the voice of my prayers.

If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, [k]who shall stand?

But mercy is with thee, that thou [l]mayest be feared.

I have waited on the Lord: my soul hath waited, and I have trusted in his word.

My soul waiteth on the Lord more than the morning watch watcheth for the morning.

Let Israel wait on the Lord: for with the Lord is [m]mercy, and with him is great redemption.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Numbers 22:41-23:12

41 And on the morrow Balak took Balaam and brought him up into the high places of [a]Baal, that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.

23 1 Balaam causeth seven altars to be built. 5 God teacheth him what to answer. 8 Instead of cursing he blesseth Israel. 19 God is not like man.

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks, and seven rams.

And Balak did as Balaam said, and [b]Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.

Then Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go, if so be that the Lord will come and meet me: and whatsoever he showeth me, I will tell thee: so he [c]went forth alone.

And God [d]met Balaam, and Balaam said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.

And the Lord [e]put an answer in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Go again to Balak, and say on this wise.

So when he turned unto him, lo, he stood by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.

Then he uttered his [f]parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from [g]Aram out of the mountains of the East, saying, Come, curse Jacob for my sake: come, and [h]detest Israel.

How shall I curse, where God hath not cursed? or how shall I detest, where the Lord hath not detested?

For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hills I did behold him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselves, and shall not be reckoned among the [i]nations.

10 Who can tell the [j]dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me [k]die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his.

11 Then Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.

12 And he answered, and said, Must I not take heed to speak that, which the Lord hath put in my mouth?

Romans 7:13-25

13 [a]Was that then which is good, [b]made death unto me? God forbid: but sin, that it might [c]appear sin, wrought death in me by that which is good, that sin might be [d]out of measure sinful by the commandment.

14 [e]For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 [f]For I [g]allow not that which I do: for what I [h]would, that do I not: but what I hate, that do I.

16 If I do then that which I would not, I consent to the Law, that it is good.

17 Now then, it is no more I, that do it, but [i]sin that dwelleth in me.

18 [j]For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me: but I find [k]no means to perform that which is good,

19 For I do not the good thing, which I would, but the evil, which I would not, that do I.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but the sin that dwelleth in me.

21 [l]I find then that when I would do good, I am thus yoked, that evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the Law of God, concerning the [m]inner man.

23 But I see another Law in my members, rebelling against the law of my [n]mind, and leading me captive unto the law of sin, which is in my members.

24 [o]O [p]wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death!

25 I [q]thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Then I [r]myself in my mind serve the Law of God, but in my flesh the law of sin.

Matthew 21:33-46

33 [a]Hear another parable, There was a certain householder, (A)which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepress therein, and [b]built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country.

34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen to receive the fruits thereof.

35 And the husbandmen took his servants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did the like unto them.

37 But last of all he sent unto them his own son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, (B)This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and let us [c]take his inheritance.

39 So they took him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

40 When therefore the Lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?

41 They said unto him, He will [d]cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall deliver him the fruits in their seasons.

42 Jesus said unto them, Read ye never in the Scriptures, (C)The stone which the [e]builders refused, the same is [f]made the [g]head of the corner? [h]This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation, which shall bring forth the [i]fruits thereof.

44 (D)And whosoever shall fall on this stone, he shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will [j]dash him in pieces.

45 And when the chief Priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46 [k]And they seeking to lay hands on him, feared the people, because they took him as a Prophet.
