Psalm 118

Thanksgiving for the Lord’s Saving Goodness.

118 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, for (B)He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Oh let (C)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
Oh let the (D)house of Aaron say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
Oh let those (E)who [a]fear the Lord say,
“His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

From my (F)distress I called upon [b]the Lord;
[c]The Lord answered me and (G)set me in a large place.
The Lord is (H)for me; I will (I)not fear;
(J)What can man do to me?
The Lord is for me (K)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (L)look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
It is (M)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in man.
It is (N)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in princes.

10 All nations (O)surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will surely (P)cut them off.
11 They (Q)surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
12 They surrounded me (R)like bees;
They were extinguished as a (S)fire of thorns;
In the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
13 You (T)pushed me violently so that I [d]was falling,
But the Lord (U)helped me.
14 [e](V)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become (W)my salvation.

15 The sound of (X)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (Y)right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 The (Z)right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 I (AA)will not die, but live,
And (AB)tell of the works of [f]the Lord.
18 [g]The Lord has (AC)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AD)not given me over to death.

19 (AE)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to [h]the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
The (AF)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (AG)answered me,
And You have (AH)become my salvation.

22 The (AI)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is [i]the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us (AJ)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Lord, (AK)do save, we beseech You;
O Lord, we beseech You, do send (AL)prosperity!
26 (AM)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;
We have (AN)blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 (AO)The Lord is God, and He has given us (AP)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords [j]to the (AQ)horns of the altar.
28 (AR)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AS)I extol You.
29 (AT)Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Psalm 145

The Lord Extolled for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

145 I will (A)extol You, (B)my God, O King,
And I will (C)bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will (D)praise Your name forever and ever.
(E)Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His (F)greatness is unsearchable.
One (G)generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
On the (H)glorious [a]splendor of Your majesty
And (I)on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
Men shall speak of the [b]power of Your (J)awesome acts,
And I will (K)tell of Your greatness.
They shall [c]eagerly utter the memory of Your (L)abundant goodness
And will (M)shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is (N)gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.
The Lord is (O)good to all,
And His (P)mercies are over all His works.
10 (Q)All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your (R)godly ones shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the (S)glory of Your kingdom
And talk of Your power;
12 To (T)make known to the sons of men [d]Your mighty acts
And the (U)glory of the majesty of [e]Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is [f]an (V)everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

14 The Lord (W)sustains all who fall
And (X)raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all [g]look to You,
And You (Y)give them their food in due time.
16 You (Z)open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is (AA)righteous in all His ways
And kind in all His deeds.
18 The Lord is (AB)near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him (AC)in truth.
19 He will (AD)fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also (AE)hear their cry and will save them.
20 The Lord (AF)keeps all who love Him,
But all the (AG)wicked He will destroy.
21 My (AH)mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And (AI)all flesh will (AJ)bless His holy name forever and ever.

Exodus 3:16-4:12

16 Go and (A)gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘(B)The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “[a](C)I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 So (D)I said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of (E)the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land (F)flowing with milk and honey.”’ 18 (G)They will [b]pay heed to what you say; and (H)you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt and you will say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please, let us go a (I)three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’ 19 But I know that the king of Egypt (J)will not permit you to go, (K)except [c]under compulsion. 20 So I will stretch out (L)My hand and strike Egypt with all My (M)miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and (N)after that he will let you go. 21 I will grant this people (O)favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman (P)shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. Thus you will (Q)plunder the Egyptians.”

Moses Given Powers

Then Moses said, “What if they will not believe me or (R)listen [d]to what I say? For they may say, ‘(S)The Lord has not appeared to you.’” The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “(T)A staff.” Then He said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and (U)it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. But the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail”—so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his [e]hand— “that (V)they may believe that (W)the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”

The Lord furthermore said to him, “Now put your hand into your bosom.” So he put his hand into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was (X)leprous like snow. Then He said, “Put your hand into your bosom again.” So he put his hand into his bosom again, and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, (Y)it was restored like the rest of his flesh. “If they will not believe you or [f]heed the [g]witness of the first sign, they may believe the [h]witness of the last sign. But if they will not believe even these two signs or heed what you say, then you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground; and the water which you take from the Nile (Z)will become blood on the dry ground.”

10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, (AA)I have never been [i]eloquent, neither [j]recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am [k]slow of speech and [l]slow of tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or (AB)who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now then go, and (AC)I, even I, will be with your mouth, and (AD)teach you what you are to say.”

Romans 12

Dedicated Service

12 Therefore (A)I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to (B)present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, [a]acceptable to God, which is your [b]spiritual service of worship. And do not (C)be conformed to (D)this [c]world, but be transformed by the (E)renewing of your mind, so that you may [d](F)prove what the will of God is, that which is good and [e]acceptable and perfect.

For through (G)the grace given to me I say to everyone among you (H)not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to (I)each a measure of faith. For (J)just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, (K)who are many, are (L)one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that (M)differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if (N)prophecy, [f]according to the proportion of his faith; if [g](O)service, in his serving; or he who (P)teaches, in his teaching; or he who (Q)exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with [h](R)liberality; (S)he who [i]leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with (T)cheerfulness.

Let (U)love be without hypocrisy. (V)Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be (W)devoted to one another in brotherly love; [j]give preference to one another (X)in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, (Y)fervent in spirit, (Z)serving the Lord; 12 (AA)rejoicing in hope, (AB)persevering in tribulation, (AC)devoted to prayer, 13 (AD)contributing to the needs of the [k]saints, [l](AE)practicing hospitality.

14 (AF)Bless those who persecute [m]you; bless and do not curse. 15 (AG)Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 (AH)Be of the same mind toward one another; (AI)do not be haughty in mind, but [n]associate with the lowly. (AJ)Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 (AK)Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. [o](AL)Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, (AM)so far as it depends on you, (AN)be at peace with all men. 19 (AO)Never take your own revenge, beloved, but [p]leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “(AP)Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 (AQ)But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

John 8:46-59

46 Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If (A)I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 (B)He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

48 (C)The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a (D)Samaritan and (E)have a demon?” 49 Jesus answered, “I do not (F)have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. 50 But (G)I do not seek My glory; there is One who seeks and judges. 51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone (H)keeps My word he will never (I)see death.” 52 (J)The Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You (K)have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets also; and You say, ‘If anyone (L)keeps My word, he will never (M)taste of death.’ 53 Surely You (N)are not greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too; whom do You make Yourself out to be?” 54 Jesus answered, (O)If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; (P)it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’; 55 and (Q)you have not come to know Him, (R)but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be (S)a liar like you, (T)but I do know Him and (U)keep His word. 56 (V)Your father Abraham (W)rejoiced [a]to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 (X)So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham [b]was born, (Y)I am.” 59 Therefore they (Z)picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus [c](AA)hid Himself and went out of the temple.
