Psalm 101

101 1 David describeth what government he will observe in his house and kingdom. 5 He will punish and correct, by rooting forth the wicked, 6 and cherishing the godly persons.

A Psalm of David.

I will [a]sing mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

I will do wisely in the perfect way, [b]till thou comest to me, I will walk in the uprightness of mine heart in the midst of my house.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate [c]the work of them that fall away: it shall not cleave unto me.

A froward heart shall depart from me; I will know none evil.

Him that privily [d]slandereth his neighbor, will I destroy: him that hath a proud look and high heart, I cannot suffer.

Mine eyes shall be unto the [e]faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

There shall no deceitful person dwell within my house: he that telleth lies, shall not remain in my sight.

[f]Betimes will I destroy all the wicked of the land that I may cut off all the workers of iniquity from the City of the Lord.

Psalm 109:1-30

109 1 David being falsely accused by flatterers unto Saul, prayeth God to help him, and to destroy his enemies. 8 And under them he speaketh of Judas the traitor unto Jesus Christ, and of all the like enemies of the children of God:  27 And desireth so to be delivered, that his enemies may know the work to be of God. 30 Then doth he promise to give praise unto God.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.

Hold not thy tongue, O God of my [a]praise.

For the mouth of the wicked, and the mouth full of deceit are opened upon me: they have spoken to me with a lying tongue.

They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

For my friendship they were my adversaries, [b]but I gave myself to prayer.

And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship.

[c]Set thou the wicked over him, and let the adversary stand at his right hand.

When he shall be judged, let him be condemned, and let his [d]prayer be turned into sin.

Let his days be few, and let another take his [e]charge.

Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg and seek bread, coming out of their places destroyed.

11 Let [f]the extortioner catch all that he hath, and let the strangers spoil his labor.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to show mercy upon his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be destroyed, and in the generation following, let their name be put out.

14 [g]Let the iniquity of his fathers be had in remembrance with the Lord: and let not the sin of his mother be done away.

15 But let them always be before the Lord, that he may cut off their memorial from the earth.

16 Because [h]he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the afflicted and poor man, and the sorrowful hearted to slay him.

17 As he loved cursing, [i]so shall it come unto him, and as he loved not blessing, so shall it be far from him.

18 As he clothed himself with cursing like a raiment, so shall it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19 Let it be unto him as a garment to cover him, and for a girdle, wherewith he shall be always girded.

20 Let this be the reward of mine adversary [j]from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

21 But thou, O Lord my God, deal with me according unto thy [k]Name: deliver me, (for thy mercy is good)

22 Because I am poor and needy, and mine heart is wounded within me.

23 I depart like the shadow that declineth, and am shaken off as the [l]grasshopper.

24 My knees are weak through fasting, and my flesh [m]hath lost all fatness.

25 I became also a rebuke unto them: they that looked upon me, shaked their heads.

26 Help me, O Lord my God: [n]save me according to thy mercy.

27 And they shall know that this is thine hand, and that thou, Lord, hast done it.

28 Though [o]they curse, yet thou wilt bless: they shall arise and be confounded, but thy servant shall rejoice.

29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their confusion as with a cloak.

30 I will give thanks unto the Lord greatly with my [p]mouth, and praise him among the multitude.

Psalm 119:121-144

AIN

121 I have executed judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressor.

122 [a]Answer for thy servant in that which is good, and let not the proud oppress me.

123 Mine eyes have failed in waiting for thy salvation, and for thy just promise.

124 Deal with thy [b]servant according to thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.

125 I am thy servant: grant me therefore understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.

126 It is [c]time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have destroyed thy Law.

127 Therefore love I thy commandments above gold, yea, above most fine gold.

128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts most just, and hate all false [d]ways.

PE

129 Thy testimonies are [e]wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.

130 The entrance into thy [f]words showeth light, and giveth understanding to the simple.

131 I opened my mouth, and [g]panted, because I loved thy commandments.

132 Look upon me and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy Name.

133 Direct my steps in thy word, and let none iniquity have dominion over me.

134 Deliver me from the oppression of men, and I will keep thy precepts.

135 Show the light of thy countenance upon thy servant, and teach me thy statute.

136 Mine eyes gush [h]out with rivers of water, because they keep not thy Law.

TZADDI

137 Righteous art thou, O Lord, and just are thy judgments.

138 Thou hast commanded [i]justice by thy testimonies and truth especially.

139 (A)My zeal hath even consumed me: because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

140 Thy word is proved [j]most pure, and thy servant loveth it.

141 I am [k]small and despised: yet do I not forget thy precepts.

142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy Law is truth.

143 Trouble and anguish are come upon me: yet are the commandments my delight.

144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: grant me understanding, and I shall [l]live.

Isaiah 63:15-64:9

15 [a]Look down from heaven, and behold from the dwelling place of thine holiness, and of thy glory. Where is thy [b]zeal and thy strength, the multitude of thy mercies, and of thy compassion? they are restrained from [c]me.

16 Doubtless thou art our Father: though [d]Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel know us not, yet thou, O Lord, art our Father, and our redeemer: thy Name is forever.

17 O Lord, why hast [e]thou made us to err from thy ways? and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy [f]servant’s sake, and for the tribes of thine inheritance.

18 The people of thine holiness have possessed it, but a little [g]while: for our adversaries have trodden down thy Sanctuary.

19 We have been as they, over whom thou never barest rule, and upon whom thy name was not called.

64 1 The Prophet prayeth for the sins of the people. 6 Man’s righteousness is like a filthy cloth.

Oh, that thou wouldest [h]break the heavens, and come down, and that the mountains might melt at thy presence!

As the melting fire burned, as the fire caused [i]the waters to boil, (that thou mightest declare thy Name to thine adversaries) the people did tremble at thy presence.

When thou didst terrible things, which we looked not for, thou camest down, and the mountains melted at thy presence.

For since the beginning of the world, they have not [j]heard nor understood with the ear, neither hath the eye seen another God beside thee, which doeth so to him that waiteth for him.

Thou didst meet him, [k]that rejoiced in thee, and did justly: they remembered thee in thy [l]ways: behold, thou art angry, for we have sinned: yet in [m]them is continuance, and we [n]shall be saved.

But we have all been as an unclean thing, and all our [o]righteousness is as filthy cloths, and we all do fade like a leaf, and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away.

And there is none that calleth upon thy Name, neither that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us because of our iniquities.

But now, O Lord, thou art our Father: we are the [p]clay, and thou art our potter, and we all are the work of thine hands.

Be not angry, O Lord, [q]above measure, neither remember iniquity forever: Lo, we beseech thee, behold, we are all thy people.

1 Timothy 3

2 He setteth out Bishops, 8 and Christian deacons with their wives, 12 children and family, 15 he calleth the Church the house of God.

This [a]is a true saying, [b]If any man [c]desire the office of a Bishop, he desireth a worthy work.

(A)A Bishop therefore must be unreproveable, the husband of one [d]wife, watching, temperate, modest, harborous, apt to teach,

Not [e]given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre, but gentle, no fighter, not covetous.

One that can rule his own house honestly, having children under obedience with all honesty.

For if any cannot rule his own house, how shall he care for the Church of God?

He may not be a young scholar, lest he being puffed up fall into the [f]condemnation of the devil.

He must also be well reported of, even of them which are without, lest he fall into rebuke, and the snare of the devil.

[g]Likewise must [h]Deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given unto much wine, neither to filthy lucre,

(B)Having the [i]mystery of the faith in pure conscience.

10 And let them first be proved, then let them minister, if they be found blameless.

11 [j]Likewise their wives must be honest, not evil speakers, but sober, and faithful in all things.

12 [k]Let the Deacons be the husbands of one wife, and such as can rule their children well, and their own households.

13 For they that have ministered well, get themselves a good [l]decree, and [m]great liberty in the faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

14 [n]These things write I unto thee, trusting to come very shortly unto thee.

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest yet know, how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the [o]house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the [p]pillar and ground of truth.

16 [q]And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness, which is, God is manifested in the flesh, [r]justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

Mark 11:27-12:12

27 (A)[a]Then they came again to Jerusalem: and as he walked in the Temple, there came to him the high Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders,

28 And said unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority, that thou shouldest do these things?

29 Then Jesus answered, and said unto them, I will also ask you a certain thing, and answer ye me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

31 And they thought with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 [b]But if we say, Of men, we fear the people: for all men counted John that he was a Prophet indeed.

33 Then they answered, and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

12 Of the vineyard. 10 Christ the stone refused of the Jews. 12 Of tribute to be given to Caesar. 18 The Sadducees denying the resurrection. 28 The first commandment. 31 To love God and the neighbor is better than sacrifices. 36 Christ David’s son. 38 To beware of the Scribes and Pharisees. 42 The poor widow.

And [c]he began to speak unto them in [d]parables, (B)A certain man planted a vineyard, and compassed it with an hedge, and dug a pit for the winepress, and built a tower in it, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country.

[e]And at the time, he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive of the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

But they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

And again he sent unto them another servant, and at him they cast stones, and brake his head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

And again he sent another, and him they slew, and many others, beating some, and killing some.

Yet had he one son, his dear beloved: him also he sent the last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

But the husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

So they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

What shall then the Lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others.

10 Have ye not read so much as this Scripture, (C)The stone which the builders did refuse, is made the head of the corner.

11 This was done of the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

12 Then they [f]went about to take him, but they feared the people: for they perceived that he spake that parable against them: therefore they left him, and went their way.
