Book of Common Prayer
Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Endures Forever
118 (A)Give thanks to Yahweh, for (B)He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
2 Oh let (C)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
3 Oh let the (D)house of Aaron say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
4 Oh let those (E)who [a]fear Yahweh say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
5 From my (F)distress I called upon Yah;
Yah answered me and (G)set me in a large place.
6 Yahweh is (H)for me; I will (I)not fear;
(J)What can man do to me?
7 Yahweh is for me (K)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (L)look in triumph on those who hate me.
8 It is (M)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in man.
9 It is (N)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in nobles.
10 All nations (O)surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely (P)cut them off.
11 They (Q)surrounded me, indeed, they surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
12 They surrounded me (R)like bees;
They were extinguished as a (S)fire of thorns;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
13 You (T)pushed me down violently to make me fall,
But Yahweh (U)helped me.
14 (V)Yah is my strength and song,
And He has become (W)my salvation.
15 The sound of (X)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (Y)right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16 The (Z)right hand of Yahweh is exalted;
The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
17 I (AA)will not die; indeed I will live,
And (AB)recount the works of Yah.
18 Yah has (AC)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AD)not given me over to death.
19 (AE)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to Yah.
20 This is the gate of Yahweh;
The (AF)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (AG)answered me,
And You have (AH)become my salvation.
22 The (AI)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is from Yahweh;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which Yahweh has made;
Let us (AJ)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Yahweh, (AK)save!
O Yahweh, (AL)succeed!
26 (AM)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of Yahweh;
We have (AN)blessed you from the house of Yahweh.
27 (AO)Yahweh is God, and He has given us (AP)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords [b]to the (AQ)horns of the altar.
28 (AR)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AS)I exalt You.
29 (AT)Give thanks to Yahweh, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.

19 In that day there will be an (A)altar to Yahweh in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a (B)pillar to Yahweh near its border. 20 And it will become a sign and a witness to Yahweh of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yahweh because of oppressors, and He will send them a (C)Savior and a [a](D)Champion, and He will deliver them. 21 Thus Yahweh will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yahweh in that day. They will even worship with (E)sacrifice and offering, and they will make a vow to Yahweh and pay it. 22 And Yahweh will smite Egypt, smiting but (F)healing; so they will (G)return to Yahweh, and He will be moved by their entreaty and will heal them.
23 In that day there will be a (H)highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will (I)worship with the Assyrians.
24 In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, 25 whom Yahweh of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is (J)Egypt My people, and Assyria (K)the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
5 Now may the (A)God of perseverance and encouragement grant you (B)to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one accord you may with one [a]voice glorify (C)the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ, the Hope of Jews and Gentiles
7 Therefore, (D)accept one another, just as Christ also accepted [b]us to the glory of God. 8 For I say that Christ has become a servant to (E)the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm (F)the promises given to the fathers, 9 and for (G)the Gentiles to (H)glorify God for His mercy; as it is written,
10 And again he says,
“(J)Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”
11 And again,
12 And again Isaiah says,
“(L)There shall come (M)the root of Jesse,
And He who arises to rule over the Gentiles,
(N)In Him shall the Gentiles hope.”
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all (O)joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope (P)by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Parable of the Ten Minas
11 Now while they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because (A)He was near Jerusalem, and they thought that (B)the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. 12 So He said, “(C)A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return. 13 And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten [a]minas and said to them, ‘Engage in business [b]until I come back.’ 14 But his citizens hated him and sent [c]a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ 15 And it happened that when he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know how much they had made in business. 16 So the first appeared, saying, ‘[d]Master, your [e]mina has made ten minas more.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been (D)faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.’ 18 Then the second came, saying, ‘Your [f]mina, [g]master, has made five minas.’ 19 And he said to him also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20 Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a cloth; 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a strict man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 He *said to him, ‘From your own mouth I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am a strict man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? 23 Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’ 24 Then he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ 25 And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas already.’ 26 ‘(E)I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 27 But (F)these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and (G)slay them in my presence.’”
