Version
Psalm 30

Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death.

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

30 I will (A)extol You, O Lord, for You have (B)lifted me up,
And have not let my (C)enemies rejoice over me.
O Lord my God,
I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.
O Lord, You have (F)brought up my soul from [a]Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [b]that I would not (G)go down to the pit.
(H)Sing praise to the Lord, you (I)His godly ones,
And (J)give thanks to His holy [c](K)name.
For (L)His anger is but for a moment,
His (M)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (N)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (O)never be moved.”
O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
To You, O Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I made supplication:
“What profit is there in my blood, if I (Q)go down to the pit?
Will the (R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

10 (S)Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me;
O Lord, be my (T)helper.”
11 You have turned for me (U)my mourning into dancing;
You have (V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with (W)gladness,
12 That my [d](X)soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will (Y)give thanks to You forever.

Psalm 32

Blessedness of Forgiveness and of Trust in God.

A Psalm of David. A [a]Maskil.

32 (A)How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord (B)does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is (C)no deceit!

When (D)I kept silent about my sin, (E)my [b]body wasted away
Through my [c](F)groaning all day long.
For day and night (G)Your hand was heavy upon me;
My [d](H)vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. [e]Selah.
I (I)acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I (J)did not hide;
I said, “(K)I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”;
And You (L)forgave the [f]guilt of my sin. Selah.
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [g](M)in a time when You may be found;
Surely (N)in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
You are (O)my hiding place; You (P)preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with [h](Q)songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will (R)instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you (S)with My eye upon you.
Do not be (T)as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
10 Many are the (U)sorrows of the wicked,
But (V)he who trusts in the Lord, lovingkindness shall surround him.
11 Be (W)glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are (X)upright in heart.

Psalm 42-43

BOOK 2

Thirsting for God in Trouble and Exile.

For the choir director. A [a]Maskil of the sons of Korah.

42 As the deer [b]pants for the water brooks,
So my soul [c](A)pants for You, O God.
My soul (B)thirsts for God, for the (C)living God;
When shall I come and [d](D)appear before God?
My (E)tears have been my food day and night,
While they (F)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
These things I remember and I (G)pour out my soul within me.
For I (H)used to go along with the throng and [e]lead them in procession to the house of God,
With the voice of (I)joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.

(J)Why are you [f](K)in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become (L)disturbed within me?
[g](M)Hope in God, for I shall [h]again praise [i]Him
For the [j](N)help of His presence.
O my God, my soul is [k]in despair within me;
Therefore I (O)remember You from (P)the land of the Jordan
And the [l]peaks of (Q)Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls;
All Your (R)breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.
The Lord will (S)command His lovingkindness in the daytime;
And His song will be with me (T)in the night,
A prayer to (U)the God of my life.

I will say to God (V)my rock, “Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go (W)mourning [m]because of the (X)oppression of the enemy?”
10 As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me,
While they (Y)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
11 (Z)Why are you [n]in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become disturbed within me?
[o]Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him,
The [p]help of my countenance and my God.

Prayer for Deliverance.

43 (AA)Vindicate me, O God, and (AB)plead my case against an ungodly nation;
[q]O deliver me from (AC)the deceitful and unjust man!
For You are the (AD)God of my strength; why have You (AE)rejected me?
Why do I go (AF)mourning [r]because of the oppression of the enemy?

O send out Your (AG)light and Your truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your (AH)holy hill
And to Your (AI)dwelling places.
Then I will go to (AJ)the altar of God,
To God [s]my exceeding (AK)joy;
And upon the (AL)lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God.

(AM)Why are you [t]in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
[u]Hope in God, for I shall [v]again praise Him,
The [w]help of my countenance and my God.

Deuteronomy 7:17-26

17 “If you should say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I (A)dispossess them?’ 18 you shall not be afraid of them; you shall well (B)remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: 19 (C)the great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which the Lord your God brought you out. So shall the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Moreover, the Lord your God will send (D)the hornet against them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you perish. 21 You shall not dread [a]them, for (E)the Lord your God is in your midst, (F)a great and awesome God. 22 (G)The Lord your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, for the [b]wild beasts would grow too numerous for you. 23 (H)But the Lord your God will deliver them before you, and will [c]throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 (I)He will deliver their kings into your hand so that you will make their name perish from under heaven; (J)no man will be able to stand before you until you have destroyed them. 25 The graven images of their gods you are to (K)burn with fire; you shall (L)not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, or you will be (M)snared by it, for it is an (N)abomination to the Lord your God. 26 You shall not bring an abomination into your house, and like it come under the (O)ban; you shall utterly detest it and you shall utterly abhor it, for it is something banned.

Titus 3

Godly Living

(A)Remind them (B)to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be (C)ready for every good deed, to malign no one, (D)to be peaceable, (E)gentle, (F)showing every consideration for all men. (G)For we also once were foolish ourselves, (H)disobedient, (I)deceived, (J)enslaved to (K)various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in (L)malice and (M)envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the (N)kindness of (O)God our Savior and His love for mankind (P)appeared, (Q)He saved us, (R)not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but (S)according to His mercy, by the (T)washing of regeneration and (U)renewing by the Holy Spirit, (V)whom He poured out upon us (W)richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made (X)heirs [a]according to the hope of eternal life. (Y)This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I (Z)want you to speak confidently, so that those who have (AA)believed God will be careful to (AB)engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. But (AC)avoid (AD)foolish controversies and (AE)genealogies and strife and (AF)disputes about the Law, for they are (AG)unprofitable and worthless. 10 (AH)Reject a (AI)factious man (AJ)after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such a man is (AK)perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

Personal Concerns

12 When I send Artemas or (AL)Tychicus to you, (AM)make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to (AN)spend the winter there. 13 Diligently help Zenas the (AO)lawyer and (AP)Apollos on their way so that nothing is lacking for them. 14 (AQ)Our people must also learn to (AR)engage in good [b]deeds to meet (AS)pressing needs, so that they will not be (AT)unfruitful.

15 (AU)All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us (AV)in the faith.

(AW)Grace be with you all.

John 1:43-51

43 (A)The next day He purposed to go into (B)Galilee, and He *found (C)Philip. And Jesus *said to him, (D)Follow Me.” 44 Now (E)Philip was from (F)Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 (G)Philip *found (H)Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom (I)Moses in the Law and also (J)the Prophets wrote—Jesus of (K)Nazareth, (L)the son of Joseph.” 46 Nathanael said to him, “(M)Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” (N)Philip *said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Behold, an (O)Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael *said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before (P)Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, “(Q)Rabbi, You are (R)the Son of God; You are the (S)King of Israel.” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He *said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see (T)the heavens opened and (U)the angels of God ascending and descending on (V)the Son of Man.”
