Psalm 87

87 1 The holy Ghost promiseth, that the condition of the Church which was in misery after the captivity of Babylon, should be restored to great excellency. 4 So that there should be nothing more comfortable, than to be numbered among the members thereof.

A Psalm or song committed to the sons of Korah.

God laid his [a]foundations among the holy mountains.

The Lord loveth the gates of Zion above all the habitations of Jacob.

[b]Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

I will make mention of [c]Rahab and Babel among them that know me: behold Palestine and Tyre with Ethiopia, [d]There is he born.

And of Zion it shall be said, [e]Many are born in her: and he, even the most High shall stablish her.

The Lord shall count, when he [f]writeth the people, He was born there. Selah.

As well the singers as the players on instruments shall praise thee: all my [g]springs are in thee.

Psalm 90

90 1 Moses in his prayer setteth before us the eternal favor of God toward his, 3 who are neither admonished by the brevity of their life,  7 nor by his plagues to be thankful, 12 therefore Moses prayeth God to turn their hearts, and continue his mercies toward them and their posterity forever.

A prayer of Moses, [a]the man of God.

Lord, thou hast been our [b]habitation from generation to generation.

Before the [c]mountains were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting thou art our God.

Thou [d]turnest man to destruction: again thou sayest, Return ye sons of Adam.

[e]For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Thou hast [f]overflowed them, they are as a sleep, in the morning he groweth like the grass:

In the morning it flourisheth and groweth, but in the evening it is cut down and withereth.

For we are [g]consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are past in thine anger: we have [h]spent our years as a thought.

10 The time of our life is threescore years and ten, and if they be of strength, [i]fourscore years: yet their strength is but labor and sorrow: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.

11 [j]Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy fear is thine anger.

12 Teach us so to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto [k]wisdom.

13 Return (O Lord, [l]how long?) and be [m]pacified toward thy servants.

14 Fill us with thy mercy in the morning: so shall we rejoice and be glad all our days?

15 Comfort us according to the days that thou hast afflicted us, and according to the years that we have seen evil.

16 [n]Let thy work be seen toward thy servants, and thy glory upon their [o]children.

17 And let the [p]beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and [q]direct thou the work of our hands upon us, even direct the work of our hands.

Psalm 136

136 1 A most earnest exhortation to give thanks unto God for the creation and governance of all things, which standeth in confessing that he giveth us all of his mere liberality.

Praise ye the Lord, because he is good: for his [a]mercy endureth forever.

Praise ye the God of gods: for his mercy endureth forever:

Praise ye the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth forever:

Which only doeth great wonders; for his mercy endureth forever:

Which by his wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth forever:

Which hath stretched out the earth upon the waters: for his [b]mercy endureth forever:

Which made great lights: for his mercy endureth forever:

As the Sun to rule the day; for his mercy endureth forever:

The Moon and the stars to govern the night: for his mercy endureth forever:

10 Which smote Egypt with their firstborn, (for his mercy endureth forever)

11 And [c]brought out Israel from among them; for his mercy endureth forever:

12 With a mighty hand and [d]stretched out arm; for his mercy endureth forever:

13 Which divideth the Sea into two parts; for his mercy endureth forever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it; for his mercy endureth forever:

15 And overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the red Sea; for his mercy endureth forever:

16 Which led his people through the [e]wilderness; for his mercy endureth forever:

17 Which smote great Kings: for his mercy endureth forever:

18 And slew [f]mighty Kings: for his mercy endureth forever:

19 As Sihon King of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth forever:

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth forever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage; for his mercy endureth forever:

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant; for his mercy endureth forever:

23 Which remembered us in our [g]base estate; for his mercy endureth forever:

24 And hath rescued us from our oppressors; for his mercy endureth forever:

25 Which giveth food to all [h]flesh; for his mercy endureth forever:

26 [i]Praise ye the God of heaven; for his mercy endureth forever.

Genesis 29:1-20

29 13 Jacob cometh to Laban and serveth seven years for Rachel. 23 Leah brought to his bed instead of Rachel. 27 He serveth seven years more for Rachel. 31 Leah conceiveth and beareth four sons.

Then Jacob [a]lift up his feet and came into the [b]East country.

And as he looked about, behold, there was a well in the field, [c]and lo, three flocks of sheep lay thereby (for at that well were the flocks watered) and there was a great stone upon the well’s mouth.

And thither were all the flocks gathered, and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.

And Jacob said unto them, My [d]brethren, whence be ye? And they answered, We are of Haran.

Then he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? Who said, We know him.

Again he said unto them, [e]Is he in good health? And they answered, He is in good health, and behold, his daughter Rachel cometh with the sheep.

Then he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep and go feed them.

But they said, We may not, until all the flocks be brought together, and till men roll the stone from the well’s mouth, that we may water the sheep.

¶ While he talked with them, Rachel also came with her father’s sheep, for she kept them.

10 And as soon as Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, then came Jacob near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

11 And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept.

12 (For Jacob told Rachel, that he was her father’s [f]brother, and that he was Rebekah’s son) then she ran and told her father.

13 And when Laban heard tell of Jacob his sister’s son, he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house: and he told Laban [g]all these things.

14 To whom Laban said, Well, thou art my [h]bone and my flesh, and he abode with him the space of a month.

15 ¶ For Laban said unto Jacob, Though thou be my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall be thy wages?

16 Now Laban had two daughters, the elder called Leah, and the younger called Rachel.

17 And Leah was [i]tender eyed, but Rachel was beautiful and fair.

18 And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

19 Then Laban answered, It is better that I give her thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed unto him but a [j]few days, because he loved her.

Romans 14

14 1 He willeth that we so deal with the weak in faith,   2, 5 that through our fault they be not offended. 10 And on the other side he commandeth them not rashly to judge of the stronger: 19 That within the bounds of edification 20 and charity. 22 Christian liberty may conflict.

Him [a]that is weak in the faith, [b]receive unto you, but not for [c]controversies of disputations.

[d]One [e]believeth that he may eat of all things: and another, which is weak, eateth herbs.

[f]Let not him that eateth, despise him that eateth not: and let not him which eateth not, condemn him that eateth: for [g]God hath received him.

(A)[h]Who art thou that condemnest another man’s servant? he standeth or falleth to his own master: yea, he shall be established: for God is able to make him stand.

[i]This man esteemeth one day above another day, and another man counteth every day alike: [j]let [k]every man be fully persuaded in his mind.

[l]He that [m]observeth the day, observeth it to the Lord: and he that observeth not the day, observeth it not to the [n]Lord. He that [o]eateth, eateth to the Lord: [p]for he giveth God thanks: and he that eateth [q]not, eateth not to the Lord, and giveth God thanks.

[r]For none of us liveth to [s]himself, neither doth any die to himself.

For whether we live, we live unto the Lord: or whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lords.

For Christ therefore died and rose again, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the quick.

10 [t]But why dost thou condemn thy brother? or why dost thou despise thy brother? (B)for we shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, [u]I (C)live, saith the Lord, and every knee shall bow to me, and all tongues shall [v]confess unto God.

12 So then everyone of us shall give accounts of himself to God.

13 [w]Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but use your judgment rather in [x]this that no man put an occasion to fall, or a stumbling block before his brother.

14 [y]I know, and am persuaded through the [z]Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of [aa]itself: but unto him that judgeth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 But if thy brother be grieved for the meat, now walkest thou not charitably: (D)[ab]destroy not him with thy meat, for whom [ac]Christ died.

16 [ad]Cause not your commodity to be evil spoken of.

17 [ae]For the kingdom of God, is not meat nor drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the holy Ghost.

18 For whosoever in [af]these things serveth Christ, is acceptable unto God, and is approved of men.

19 [ag]Let us then follow those things which concern peace, and wherewith one may edify another.

20 Destroy not the work of God for meat’s sake: (E)all things indeed are pure: but it is evil for the man which eateth with offense.

21 (F)It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or made weak.

22 [ah]Hast thou [ai]faith? have it with thyself before God: blessed is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he [aj]alloweth.

23 For he that [ak]doubteth, is condemned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: and whatsoever is not of faith, is sin.

John 8:47-59

47 (A)He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

48 [a]Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil, but I honor my Father, and ye have dishonored me.

50 And I seek not mine own praise: but there is one that [b]seeketh it, and judgeth.

51 [c]Verily, verily I say unto you, If a man keep my word, he shall never [d]see death.

52 [e]Then said the Jews to him, Now know we that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the Prophets: and thou sayest, If a man keep my word, he shall never taste of death.

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the Prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

54 [f]Jesus answered, If I honor myself, mine honor is [g]nothing worth: it is my Father that honoreth me, whom ye say, that he is your God.

55 [h]Yet ye have not known him: but I know him, and if I should say I know him not, I should be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his word.

56 [i]Your father Abraham [j]rejoiced to see my [k]day, and he [l]saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, I [m]am.

59 [n]Then took they up stones to cast at him, but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the Temple: And he passed through the midst of them, and so went his way.
