Version
Psalm 40

40 I waited patiently for the LORD, and He inclined to me and heard my cry.

Also, He brought me out of the horrible pit—out of the miry clay—and set my feet upon the rock and ordered my goings.

And He has put in my mouth a new song of praise to our God. Many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the LORD.

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust and does not regard the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

You have made many, O LORD my God, Your wonderful works; so that no one can count to You, in order, Your thoughts toward us. I would declare and speak of them, but they are more than I am able to express.

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire (my ears You have prepared). Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.

Then I said, “Lo, I come. In the roll of the Book it is written of me.

“I desired to do Your good will, O my God. Indeed, Your Law is within my heart.”

I have declared righteousness in the great congregation. Lo, I will not refrain my lips. O LORD, You know.

10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart. I have declared Your truth and Your salvation. I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great Congregation.

11 Do not withdraw Your tender mercy from me, O LORD. Let Your mercy and Your truth always preserve me.

12 For innumerable troubles have surrounded me. My sins have taken such hold upon me that I am not able to look up. They are more in number than the hairs of my head. Therefore, my heart has failed me.

13 Let it please You, O LORD, to deliver me. Hurry, O LORD, to help me.

14 Let those who seek my soul to destroy it be confounded and put to shame together. Let those who desire my hurt be driven backward and put to rebuke.

15 Let those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be destroyed as a reward for their shame,

16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You, and let those who love Your salvation, say always, “The LORD be praised!”

17 Though I be poor and needy, the LORD thinks on me. You are my Helper and my Deliverer. My God, do not delay. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.

Psalm 54

54 Save me, O God, by Your Name; and by Your power, judge me.

O God, hear my prayer; hear the words of my mouth.

For strangers have risen up against me, and tyrants seek my soul. They have not set God before them. Selah.

Behold, God is my helper. The LORD is with those who uphold my soul.

He shall reward evil to my enemies. Oh, cut them off in Your truth!

I will sacrifice freely to You. I will praise Your Name, O LORD, because it is good.

For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen my desire upon my enemies. To him who excels on Neginoth: A Psalm of David, to give instruction

Psalm 51

51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness. According to the multitude of Your compassions, put away my iniquities.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity; and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my iniquities; and my sin is ever before me.

Against You, against You only, have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be just when You speak and pure when You judge.

Behold, I was born in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me.

Behold, You love truth to the core. Therefore, You have taught me wisdom in my core.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me hear joy and gladness; so that the bones which You have broken may rejoice.

Hide Your Face from my sins; and put away all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me away from Your presence; and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation; and establish me with Your free Spirit.

13 Then I shall teach Your ways to the wicked; and sinners shall be converted to You.

14 Deliver me from blood, O God, the God of my salvation; and my tongue shall sing joyfully of Your righteousness.

15 Open my lips, O LORD, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.

16 For You desire no sacrifice, though I would give it. You do not delight in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit. A contrite and a broken heart, O God, You will not despise.

18 Be favorable to Zion for Your good pleasure. Build the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then shall You accept the sacrifices of righteousness, the burnt offering and oblation. Then shall they offer calves upon Your altar. To him who excels: A Psalm of David to give instruction, when Doeg the Edomite came and showed Saul and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”

Zechariah 7:8-8

And the Word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying:

“Thus speaks the LORD of Hosts, saying: ‘Execute true judgment. And show mercy and compassion, every man to his brother.

10 ‘And do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the stranger or the poor. And let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

11 ‘But they refused to listen. And pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears, so that they would not hear.

12 ‘Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they hear the Law and the Words which the LORD of Hosts sent in His Spirit, by the ministry of the former Prophets. Therefore, a great wrath came from the LORD of Hosts.

13 ‘Therefore, it happens at this time that as he cried and they would not hear, so they cried and I would not hear,’ says the LORD of Hosts.

14 ‘But I scattered them among all the nations whom they did not know. Thus, the land was desolate after them, so that no man passed through or returned. For they laid the pleasant land waste.’”

Again the Word of the LORD of Hosts came, saying,

“Thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘I was zealous for Zion with great zeal! And I was zealous for her with great wrath!’

“Thus says the LORD: ‘I will return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem shall be called a City of Truth, and the Mountain of the LORD of Hosts, the Holy Mountain.’

“Thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘There, old men and old women shall still dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand because of age.

‘And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls, playing in her streets.’

“Thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘Even if it is impossible in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it therefore be impossible in My sight?’ says the LORD of Hosts.

“Thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘Behold, I will deliver My people from the East country, and from the West country.

‘And I will bring them. And they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be My people. And I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.’

Revelation 5:6-14

Then I beheld. And lo, in the midst of the throne - and of the four beasts - and in the midst of the elders stood a Lamb, as though He had been killed; Which had seven horns and seven eyes (which are the seven spirits of God, sent into all the world).

And He came and took the Book out of the right hand of Him who sat upon the throne.

And when He had taken the Book, the four beasts and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, everyone having harps and golden vials full of odors (which are the prayers of the saints).

And they sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the Book and to open the seals thereof! Because You were killed and have redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10 and have made us kings and priests to our God! And we shall reign on the Earth!”

11 Then I beheld. And I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and around the beasts and the elders. And there were ten thousand times ten thousand, and a thousand thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb Who was killed to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

13 And all the creatures which are in Heaven and on the Earth and under the Earth and in the sea, and all that are in them, heard me saying, “Praise and honor and glory and power be to Him Who sits upon the throne! And to the Lamb! Forevermore!”

14 And the four beasts said, “Amen!” And the 24 elders fell down and worshipped Him Who lives forevermore.

Matthew 25:14-30

14 “For the Kingdom of Heaven is as a man who, going into a strange country, called his servants and handed over his goods to them.

15 “And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, each according to his own ability. And immediately he left home.

16 “Then the one who had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and gained another five talents.

17 “Likewise also, the one who received two, gained another two.

18 “But the one who received the one, went and buried it in the earth, and hid his master’s money.

19 “But after a long season, the master of those servants came and settled with them.

20 “Then the one who had received five talents came, and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Master, you handed over to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five more talents with them.’

21 “Then his master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in little. I will make you ruler over much. Enter into your master’s joy.’

22 “Also, the one who had received two talents came, and said, ‘Master, you handed over to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents more.’

23 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in little. I will make you ruler over much. Enter into your master’s joy.’

24 “Then the one who had received the one talent came, and said, ‘Master, I knew that you were a hard man, who reaps where you do not sow, and gathers where you do not scatter.

25 ‘Therefore, I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’

26 “And his master answered, and said to him, ‘You evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter.

27 “‘Therefore, you ought to have put my money in the bank. And then at my coming I would have received my own with interest.

28 “‘Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 “‘For to everyone who has, it shall be given, and he shall have abundance. But from the one who has not, even that he has shall be taken away.

30 “‘Therefore, cast that unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
