    Hear, Israel: You are now about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have walls up to the sky.
  16. and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.
  17. Going to War

    When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.

  90. Advancement Is Meaningless

    Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning.

    A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.

  97. It is better to heed the rebuke of a wise person than to listen to the song of fools.

  100. Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.
