  1. Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman

    When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.
  2. A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume.
  3. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

  8. “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.
  9. When Jesus went outside, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions,

    Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
