When all the Israelites beheld the fire descending and the glory of the Lord upon the temple, they bowed down upon the pavement with their faces to the ground. Then they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying: “For he is good, for his mercy endures forever.”

After all this the Lord struck down Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.
