  1. And they began considering the implications among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
  2. And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ’; or, ‘Look, there He is’; do not believe it;
  3. Let this Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting Him.
  4. And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.

  6. The Disciples Commissioned

    Later He appeared to the eleven disciples themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reprimanded them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead.

  17. And then He said to them, “You foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
  18. While they still could not believe it because of their joy and astonishment, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
  19. He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.
  20. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,
  21. Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
  22. This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
  23. So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
  24. Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name as they observed His signs which He was doing.
  25. If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
