  1. Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.

    Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

  9. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.
  10. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.
  11. Lydia’s Conversion in Philippi

    From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis.
  12. From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.
  13. But we sailed from Philippi after the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days.
  14. Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven.
  15. Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons:
  16. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;
  17. We had previously suffered and been treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in the face of strong opposition.
