  15. The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.
  16. But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
  17. But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”
  18. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
  19. For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”
  20. and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
  21. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
  22. If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.
  23. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
  24. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?
  25. But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
