  17. He says to himself, “God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.”
  18. Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
  19. Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”?
  20. But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

    The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
  23. The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
  24. But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.
