¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and ^(A)books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is ^(B)the book of life. And ^(C)the dead were judged by what was written in the books, ^(D)according to what they had done.

⁵ And from the throne came a voice saying,

^(C)Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

¹⁰ They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, ^(A)holy and true, ^(B)how long ^(C)before you will judge and ^(D)avenge our blood on ^(E)those who dwell on the earth?” ¹¹ Then they were each given ^(F)a white robe and ^(G)told to rest a little longer, ^(H)until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers^{[a] (I)}should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

¹² “Behold, ^(A)I am coming soon, ^(B)bringing my recompense with me, ^(C)to repay each one for what he has done.

⁴ Then I saw ^(A)thrones, and ^(B)seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw ^(C)the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those ^(D)who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. ^(E)They came to life and ^(F)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. ⁵ The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

^25 (A)choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy ^(B)the fleeting pleasures of sin. ^26 (C)He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to ^(D)the reward.
