⁷ Behold, ^(A)he is coming with the clouds, and ^(B)every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail^[a] on account of him. Even so. Amen.

¹² When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, ^(A)there was a great earthquake, and ^(B)the sun became black as ^(C)sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, ¹³ and ^(D)the stars of the sky fell to the earth ^(E)as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. ^14 (F)The sky vanished ^(G)like a scroll that is being rolled up, and ^(H)every mountain and island was removed from its place. ¹⁵ Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave^[a] and free, ^(I)hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, ^16 (J)calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of ^(K)him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, ¹⁷ for ^(L)the great day of their wrath has come, and ^(M)who can stand?”

God's Wrath on Unrighteousness

¹⁸ For ^(A)the wrath of God ^(B)is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. ¹⁹ For what can be ^(C)known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. ²⁰ For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, ^(D)have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,^[a] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus ^(A)every knee should bow, ^(B)in heaven and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹ and ^(C)every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is ^(D)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹⁹ Beloved, ^(A)never avenge yourselves, but leave it^[a] to the wrath of God, for it is written, ^(B)“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
