¹⁹ Then ^(A)God's temple in heaven was opened, and ^(B)the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings,^[a] peals of thunder, an earthquake, and ^(C)heavy hail.

²¹ And ^(A)great hailstones, about one hundred pounds^[a] each, fell from heaven on people; and ^(B)they cursed God for ^(C)the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

⁵ After this I looked, and ^(A)the sanctuary of ^(B)the tent^[a] of witness in heaven was opened, ⁶ and out of the sanctuary came ^(C)the seven angels with the seven plagues, clothed in pure, bright ^(D)linen, ^(E)with golden sashes around their chests. ⁷ And one of ^(F)the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven ^(G)golden bowls full of the wrath of God ^(H)who lives forever and ever, ⁸ and ^(I)the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and ^(J)no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

²² With pestilence and bloodshed ^(A)I will enter into judgment with him, and ^(B)I will rain upon him and ^(C)his hordes and the many peoples who are with him ^(D)torrential rains and hailstones, ^(E)fire and sulfur.

⁵ From the throne came ^(A)flashes of lightning, and rumblings^[a] and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning ^(B)seven torches of fire, ^(C)which are the seven spirits of God,

⁵ Then the angel took the censer and ^(A)filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and ^(B)there were peals of ^(C)thunder, rumblings,^[a] flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

³⁰ And the Lord ^(A)will cause his majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of his arm to be seen, in furious anger ^(B)and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst ^(C)and storm and hailstones.

The Rider on a White Horse

¹¹ Then I saw ^(A)heaven opened, and behold, ^(B)a white horse! The one sitting on it is called ^(C)Faithful and True, and ^(D)in righteousness he judges and makes war.

¹⁵ And another angel ^(A)came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, ^(B)“Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for ^(C)the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” ¹⁶ So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.

¹⁷ Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
