Psalm 98

A psalm.

¹Sing to the Lord^(A) a new song,^(B)
    for he has done marvelous things;^(C)
his right hand^(D) and his holy arm^(E)
    have worked salvation^(F) for him.
²The Lord has made his salvation known^(G)
    and revealed his righteousness^(H) to the nations.^(I)
³He has remembered^(J) his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth^(K) have seen
    the salvation of our God.^(L)

⁴Shout for joy^(M) to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
⁵make music to the Lord with the harp,^(N)
    with the harp and the sound of singing,^(O)
⁶with trumpets^(P) and the blast of the ram’s horn^(Q)—
    shout for joy^(R) before the Lord, the King.^(S)

Acts 13:44-52

New International Version

⁴⁴On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. ⁴⁵When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying^(A) and heaped abuse^(B) on him.

⁴⁶Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first.^(C) Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.^(D) ⁴⁷For this is what the Lord has commanded us:

“‘I have made you^[a] a light for the Gentiles,^(E)
that you^[b] may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’^[c]”^(F)

⁴⁸When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord;^(G) and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

⁴⁹The word of the Lord^(H) spread through the whole region. ⁵⁰But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.^(I) ⁵¹So they shook the dust off their feet^(J) as a warning to them and went to Iconium.^(K) ⁵²And the disciples^(L) were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.^(M)

John 14:7-14

New International Version

⁷If you really know me, you will know^[a] my Father as well.^(A) From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

⁸Philip^(B) said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

⁹Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.^(C) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?^(D) The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority.^(E) Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. ¹¹Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.^(F) ¹²Very truly I tell you, whoever believes^(G) in me will do the works I have been doing,^(H) and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. ¹³And I will do whatever you ask^(I) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
