Book Four

From Everlasting to Everlasting

A (A)Prayer of Moses, the (B)man of God.

90 Lord, you have been our (C)dwelling place[a]
    in all generations.
(D)Before the (E)mountains were brought forth,
    or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
    (F)from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You return man to dust
    and say, (G)“Return, (H)O children of man!”[b]
For (I)a thousand years in your sight
    are but as (J)yesterday when it is past,
    or as (K)a watch in the night.

You (L)sweep them away as with a flood; they are like (M)a dream,
    like (N)grass that is renewed in the morning:
in (O)the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
    in the evening it (P)fades and (Q)withers.

For we are brought to an end by your anger;
    by your wrath we are dismayed.
You have (R)set our iniquities before you,
    our (S)secret sins in the light of your presence.

For all our days pass away under your wrath;
    we bring our years to an end like a sigh.
10 The years of our life are seventy,
    or even by reason of strength eighty;
yet their span[c] is but toil and trouble;
    they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of your anger,
    and your wrath according to the fear of you?

12 (T)So teach us to number our days
    that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13 (U)Return, O Lord! (V)How long?
    Have (W)pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us in the (X)morning with your steadfast love,
    that we may (Y)rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have (Z)afflicted us,
    and for as many years as we have seen evil.
16 Let your (AA)work be shown to your servants,
    and your glorious power to their children.
17 Let the (AB)favor[d] of the Lord our God be upon us,
    and establish (AC)the work of our hands upon us;
    yes, establish the work of our hands!

My Refuge and My Fortress

91 He who dwells in (AD)the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in (AE)the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say[e] to the Lord, “My (AF)refuge and my (AG)fortress,
    my God, in whom I (AH)trust.”

For he will deliver you from (AI)the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will (AJ)cover you with his pinions,
    and under his (AK)wings you will (AL)find refuge;
    his (AM)faithfulness is (AN)a shield and buckler.
(AO)You will not fear (AP)the terror of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
    nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
    and (AQ)see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your (AR)dwelling place—
    the Most High, who is my (AS)refuge[f]
10 (AT)no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
    (AU)no plague come near your tent.

11 (AV)For he will command his (AW)angels concerning you
    to (AX)guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
    lest you (AY)strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on (AZ)the lion and the (BA)adder;
    the young lion and (BB)the serpent you will (BC)trample underfoot.

14 “Because he (BD)holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he (BE)knows my name.
15 When he (BF)calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and (BG)honor him.
16 With (BH)long life I will satisfy him
    and (BI)show him my salvation.”

How Great Are Your Works

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath.

92 (BJ)It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
    to sing praises to your name, (BK)O Most High;
to declare your (BL)steadfast love in (BM)the morning,
    and your (BN)faithfulness by (BO)night,
to the music of (BP)the lute and (BQ)the harp,
    to the melody of (BR)the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your (BS)work;
    at (BT)the works of your hands I sing for joy.

How (BU)great are your works, O Lord!
    Your (BV)thoughts are very (BW)deep!
The stupid man cannot know;
    the fool cannot understand this:
that though (BX)the wicked sprout like grass
    and all (BY)evildoers flourish,
they are doomed to destruction forever;
    but you, O Lord, are (BZ)on high forever.
For behold, your enemies, O Lord,
    for behold, your enemies shall perish;
    all evildoers shall be (CA)scattered.

10 But you have exalted my (CB)horn like that of (CC)the wild ox;
    you have (CD)poured over me[g] fresh oil.
11 My (CE)eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
    my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants.

12 (CF)The righteous flourish like the palm tree
    and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 They are planted in the house of the Lord;
    they flourish in (CG)the courts of our God.
14 They still bear fruit in old age;
    they are ever full of sap and green,
15 (CH)to declare that the Lord is upright;
    he is my (CI)rock, and there is (CJ)no unrighteousness in him.

The Lord Reigns

93 (CK)The Lord reigns; he is (CL)robed in majesty;
    the Lord is (CM)robed; he has (CN)put on strength as his belt.
(CO)Yes, the world is established; (CP)it shall never be moved.
(CQ)Your throne is established from of old;
    (CR)you are from everlasting.

(CS)The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
    the floods have lifted up their voice;
    the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
    mightier than the waves of the sea,
    (CT)the Lord (CU)on high is mighty!

Your (CV)decrees are very trustworthy;
    (CW)holiness befits your house,
    O Lord, forevermore.

The Lord Will Not Forsake His People

94 O Lord, God of (CX)vengeance,
    O God of vengeance, (CY)shine forth!
(CZ)Rise up, O (DA)judge of the earth;
    repay to the (DB)proud what they deserve!
O Lord, (DC)how long shall the wicked,
    how long shall (DD)the wicked exult?
They pour out their (DE)arrogant words;
    all (DF)the evildoers boast.
They (DG)crush your people, O Lord,
    and afflict your heritage.
They kill (DH)the widow and the sojourner,
    and murder (DI)the fatherless;
(DJ)and they say, “The Lord does not see;
    the God of Jacob does not perceive.”

(DK)Understand, O dullest of the people!
    Fools, when will you be wise?
(DL)He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who (DM)disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke?
He who (DN)teaches man knowledge—
11     (DO)the Lord—knows the thoughts of man,
    that they are (DP)but a breath.[h]

12 (DQ)Blessed is the man whom you (DR)discipline, O Lord,
    and whom you teach out of your law,
13 to give him (DS)rest from (DT)days of trouble,
    until (DU)a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 (DV)For the Lord will not forsake his (DW)people;
    he will not abandon his (DX)heritage;
15 for (DY)justice will return to the righteous,
    and all the upright in heart will (DZ)follow it.

16 (EA)Who rises up for me against the wicked?
    Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 (EB)If the Lord had not been my help,
    my soul would soon have lived in the land of (EC)silence.
18 When I thought, (ED)“My foot slips,”
    your steadfast love, O Lord, (EE)held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
    your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can (EF)wicked rulers be allied with you,
    those who frame[i] injustice by (EG)statute?
21 They (EH)band together against the life of the righteous
    and condemn (EI)the innocent to death.[j]
22 But the Lord has become my (EJ)stronghold,
    and my God (EK)the rock of my (EL)refuge.
23 He will bring back on them (EM)their iniquity
    and (EN)wipe them out for their wickedness;
    the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Let Us Sing Songs of Praise

95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us (EO)make a joyful noise to (EP)the rock of our salvation!
Let us (EQ)come into his presence with thanksgiving;
    let us (ER)make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is (ES)a great God,
    and a great King (ET)above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
    the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for (EU)he made it,
    and his hands formed (EV)the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
    let us (EW)kneel before the Lord, our (EX)Maker!
For he is our (EY)God,
    and we are the people of his (EZ)pasture,
    and the sheep of his hand.
(FA)Today, if you (FB)hear his voice,
    (FC)do not harden your hearts, as at (FD)Meribah,
    as on the day at (FE)Massah in the wilderness,
when your fathers put me to the (FF)test
    and put me to the proof, though they had seen my (FG)work.
10 (FH)For forty years I loathed that generation
    and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,
    and they have not known (FI)my ways.”
11 Therefore I (FJ)swore in my wrath,
    “They shall not enter (FK)my rest.”

Worship in the Splendor of Holiness

96 (FL)Oh sing to the Lord (FM)a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
    (FN)tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For (FO)great is the Lord, and (FP)greatly to be praised;
    he is to be feared above (FQ)all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
    but the Lord (FR)made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
    (FS)strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, O (FT)families of the peoples,
    (FU)ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
Ascribe to the Lord (FV)the glory due his name;
    bring (FW)an offering, and (FX)come into his courts!
Worship the Lord in (FY)the splendor of holiness;[k]
    (FZ)tremble before him, all the earth!

10 Say among the nations, (GA)“The Lord reigns!
    Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
    he will (GB)judge the peoples with equity.”

11 Let (GC)the heavens be glad, and let (GD)the earth rejoice;
    let (GE)the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12     let (GF)the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all (GG)the trees of the forest sing for joy
13     before the Lord, for he comes,
    for he comes (GH)to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

The Lord Reigns

97 (GI)The Lord reigns, (GJ)let the earth rejoice;
    let the many (GK)coastlands be glad!
(GL)Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
    (GM)righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
(GN)Fire goes before him
    and burns up his adversaries all around.
His (GO)lightnings light up the world;
    the earth sees and (GP)trembles.
The mountains (GQ)melt like (GR)wax before the Lord,
    before (GS)the Lord of all the earth.

(GT)The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
    and all (GU)the peoples see his glory.
All worshipers of images are (GV)put to shame,
    who make their boast in (GW)worthless idols;
    (GX)worship him, all you gods!

Zion hears and (GY)is glad,
    and the daughters of Judah rejoice,
    because of your judgments, O Lord.
For you, O Lord, are (GZ)most high over all the earth;
    you are exalted far above (HA)all gods.

10 O you who love the Lord, (HB)hate evil!
    He (HC)preserves the lives of his (HD)saints;
    he (HE)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (HF)Light (HG)is sown[l] for the righteous,
    and joy for the upright in heart.
12 (HH)Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
    and (HI)give thanks to his holy name!

Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord

A Psalm.

98 Oh sing to the Lord (HJ)a new song,
    for he has done (HK)marvelous things!
His (HL)right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has (HM)made known his salvation;
    he has (HN)revealed his righteousness in (HO)the sight of the nations.
He has (HP)remembered his (HQ)steadfast love and faithfulness
    to the house of Israel.
All (HR)the ends of the earth have seen
    (HS)the salvation of our God.

(HT)Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
    (HU)break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
    with the lyre and the (HV)sound of melody!
With (HW)trumpets and the sound of (HX)the horn
    (HY)make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

(HZ)Let the sea roar, and (IA)all that fills it;
    (IB)the world and those who dwell in it!
Let the rivers (IC)clap their hands;
    let (ID)the hills sing for joy together
before the Lord, for he comes
    to (IE)judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
    and the peoples with equity.

The Lord Our God Is Holy

99 (IF)The Lord reigns; (IG)let the peoples tremble!
    He (IH)sits enthroned upon the cherubim; (II)let the earth quake!
The Lord is (IJ)great in Zion;
    he is (IK)exalted over all the peoples.
Let them praise your (IL)great and awesome name!
    (IM)Holy is he!
(IN)The King in his might (IO)loves justice.[m]
    You have established equity;
you have executed justice
    and righteousness in Jacob.
(IP)Exalt the Lord our God;
    (IQ)worship at his (IR)footstool!
    (IS)Holy is he!

(IT)Moses and Aaron were among his (IU)priests,
    Samuel also was among those who (IV)called upon his name.
    They (IW)called to the Lord, and he answered them.
In (IX)the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them;
    they (IY)kept his testimonies
    and the statute that he gave them.

O Lord our God, you answered them;
    you were (IZ)a forgiving God to them,
    but (JA)an avenger of their wrongdoings.
Exalt the Lord our God,
    and worship at his (JB)holy mountain;
    for the Lord our God is holy!

His Steadfast Love Endures Forever

A Psalm for (JC)giving thanks.

100 (JD)Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
    (JE)Serve the Lord with gladness!
    (JF)Come into his presence with singing!

Know that (JG)the Lord, he is God!
    It is he who (JH)made us, and (JI)we are his;[n]
    we are his (JJ)people, and (JK)the sheep of his pasture.

(JL)Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his (JM)courts with praise!
    Give thanks to him; (JN)bless his name!

(JO)For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his (JP)faithfulness to all generations.

BOOK IV

Psalms 90–106

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place(A)
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born(B)
    or you brought forth the whole world,
    from everlasting to everlasting(C) you are God.(D)

You turn people back to dust,
    saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”(E)
A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.(F)
Yet you sweep people away(G) in the sleep of death—
    they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new,
    but by evening it is dry and withered.(H)

We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins(I) in the light of your presence.(J)
All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.(K)
10 Our days may come to seventy years,(L)
    or eighty,(M) if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,(N)
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.(O)
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath(P) is as great as the fear that is your due.(Q)
12 Teach us to number our days,(R)
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.(S)

13 Relent, Lord! How long(T) will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.(U)
14 Satisfy(V) us in the morning with your unfailing love,(W)
    that we may sing for joy(X) and be glad all our days.(Y)
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
    for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.(Z)

17 May the favor[a] of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us—
    yes, establish the work of our hands.(AA)

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter(AB) of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow(AC) of the Almighty.[b]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge(AD) and my fortress,(AE)
    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare(AF)
    and from the deadly pestilence.(AG)
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;(AH)
    his faithfulness will be your shield(AI) and rampart.
You will not fear(AJ) the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.(AK)

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm(AL) will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels(AM) concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;(AN)
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.(AO)
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.(AP)

14 “Because he[c] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.(AQ)
16 With long life(AR) I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.(AS)

Psalm 92[d]

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.

It is good to praise the Lord
    and make music(AT) to your name,(AU) O Most High,(AV)
proclaiming your love in the morning(AW)
    and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre(AX)
    and the melody of the harp.(AY)

For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy(AZ) at what your hands have done.(BA)
How great are your works,(BB) Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!(BC)
Senseless people(BD) do not know,
    fools do not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.(BE)

But you, Lord, are forever exalted.

For surely your enemies(BF), Lord,
    surely your enemies will perish;
    all evildoers will be scattered.(BG)
10 You have exalted my horn[e](BH) like that of a wild ox;(BI)
    fine oils(BJ) have been poured on me.
11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
    my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.(BK)

12 The righteous will flourish(BL) like a palm tree,
    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;(BM)
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
    they will flourish in the courts of our God.(BN)
14 They will still bear fruit(BO) in old age,
    they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
    he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.(BP)

Psalm 93

The Lord reigns,(BQ) he is robed in majesty;(BR)
    the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;(BS)
    indeed, the world is established,(BT) firm and secure.(BU)
Your throne was established(BV) long ago;
    you are from all eternity.(BW)

The seas(BX) have lifted up, Lord,
    the seas have lifted up their voice;(BY)
    the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.(BZ)
Mightier than the thunder(CA) of the great waters,
    mightier than the breakers(CB) of the sea—
    the Lord on high is mighty.(CC)

Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
    holiness(CD) adorns your house(CE)
    for endless days.

Psalm 94

The Lord is a God who avenges.(CF)
    O God who avenges, shine forth.(CG)
Rise up,(CH) Judge(CI) of the earth;
    pay back(CJ) to the proud what they deserve.
How long, Lord, will the wicked,
    how long will the wicked be jubilant?(CK)

They pour out arrogant(CL) words;
    all the evildoers are full of boasting.(CM)
They crush your people,(CN) Lord;
    they oppress your inheritance.(CO)
They slay the widow(CP) and the foreigner;
    they murder the fatherless.(CQ)
They say, “The Lord does not see;(CR)
    the God of Jacob(CS) takes no notice.”

Take notice, you senseless ones(CT) among the people;
    you fools, when will you become wise?
Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
    Does he who formed the eye not see?(CU)
10 Does he who disciplines(CV) nations not punish?
    Does he who teaches(CW) mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans;(CX)
    he knows that they are futile.(CY)

12 Blessed is the one you discipline,(CZ) Lord,
    the one you teach(DA) from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,(DB)
    till a pit(DC) is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not reject his people;(DD)
    he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,(DE)
    and all the upright in heart(DF) will follow it.

16 Who will rise up(DG) for me against the wicked?
    Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?(DH)

    your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.

    and condemn the innocent(DQ) to death.(DR)
22 But the Lord has become my fortress,

    the Lord our God will destroy them.

    let us shout aloud(DY) to the Rock(DZ) of our salvation.
Let us come before him(EA) with thanksgiving(EB)
    and extol him with music(EC) and song.

For the Lord is the great God,(ED)
    the great King(EE) above all gods.(EF)
In his hand are the depths of the earth,(EG)
    and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
    and his hands formed the dry land.(EH)

Come, let us bow down(EI) in worship,(EJ)
    let us kneel(EK) before the Lord our Maker;(EL)
for he is our God
    and we are the people of his pasture,(EM)
    the flock under his care.

Today, if only you would hear his voice,
“Do not harden your hearts(EN) as you did at Meribah,[f](EO)
    as you did that day at Massah[g] in the wilderness,(EP)
where your ancestors tested(EQ) me;
    they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years(ER) I was angry with that generation;
    I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,(ES)
    and they have not known my ways.’(ET)
11 So I declared on oath(EU) in my anger,
    ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”(EV)

Psalm 96(EW)

Sing to the Lord(EX) a new song;(EY)
    sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;(EZ)
    proclaim his salvation(FA) day after day.
Declare his glory(FB) among the nations,
    his marvelous deeds(FC) among all peoples.

90 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

13 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

92 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

15 To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

93 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.

94 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

95 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

96 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.

Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.

Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

97 The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.

For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

98 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

99 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.

Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.

He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.

100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
