He greets certain of them, exhorts them to live and bear themselves honourably, and thanks them for the provision that they made for him in prison.

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, continue in such a way in the Lord, beloveds. I pray Euodias and beseech Syntyche to be of one accord in the Lord. Yea and I beseech you, faithful yokefellow, help the women who laboured with me in the gospel, and with Clement also, and with my other labour-fellows whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men.

The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in all things let your requests be made known to God, in prayer and supplication with giving of thanks. And may the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Furthermore, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things belong to love, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtuous thing, if there be any praiseworthy thing: these same have in your minds. The things you have both learned and received, heard and also seen in me, those things do, and the God of peace will be with you.

10 I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at the last you have come around again to care for me – where you had been concerned, but you lacked opportunity. 11 I am not speaking out of need. For I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I can both cast myself down and I can also prosper. Everywhere and in all things I am taught both to be full and to be hungry, to have plenty and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things with the help of Christ, who strengthens me. 14 Notwithstanding, you have done well to bear part with me in my tribulation.

15 You of Philippi know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no congregation bore part with me (as regards giving and receiving) but you only. 16 For when I was in Thessalonica, you sent once and afterward again to supply my needs – 17 not that I desire gifts, but I desire abundant fruit on your parts. 18 I welcomed everything, and have plenty. I was filled after I received from Epaphroditus that which came from you, an odour that smells sweet, a sacrifice accepted and pleasing to God.

19 May my God fulfil all your needs through his glorious riches in Jesus Christ. 20 To our God and Father be glory forevermore. Amen.

21 Greet all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me  greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, and most of all those who are of the Emperor’s household. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Sent from Rome by the hand
of Epaphroditus.

Therefore, my brothers,[a] whom I love and (A)long for, (B)my joy and (C)crown, (D)stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

Exhortation, Encouragement, and Prayer

I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to (E)agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion,[b] help these women, who have labored[c] side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, (F)whose names are in the book of life.

(G)Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness[d] be known to everyone. (H)The Lord is at hand; (I)do not be anxious about anything, (J)but in everything by prayer and supplication (K)with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And (L)the peace of God, (M)which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned[e] and (N)received and heard and seen (O)in me—practice these things, and (P)the God of peace will be with you.

God's Provision

10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length (Q)you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be (R)content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and (S)hunger, abundance and (T)need. 13 I can do all things (U)through him who strengthens me.

14 Yet it was kind of you (V)to share[f] my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that (W)in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, (X)no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 (Y)Not that I seek the gift, but I seek (Z)the fruit that increases to your credit.[g] 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, (AA)having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, (AB)a fragrant offering, (AC)a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God (AD)will supply every need of yours (AE)according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To (AF)our God and Father be (AG)glory forever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings

21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. (AH)The brothers who are with me greet you. 22 (AI)All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.

23 (AJ)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

Be Anxious for Nothing; Think These Thoughts

Therefore, my beloved and (A)longed-for brethren, (B)my joy and crown, so (C)stand fast in the Lord, beloved.

Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer

I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche (D)to be of the same mind in the Lord. [a]And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who (E)labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in (F)the Book of Life.

(G)Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Let your [b]gentleness be known to all men. (H)The Lord is at hand.

(I)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with (J)thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and (K)the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things

Finally, brethren, whatever things are (L)true, whatever things are (M)noble, whatever things are (N)just, (O)whatever things are pure, whatever things are (P)lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and (Q)the God of peace will be with you.

Philippian Generosity

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last (R)your[c] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, (S)to be content: 12 (T)I know how to [d]be abased, and I know how to [e]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things (U)through [f]Christ who strengthens me.

14 Nevertheless you have done well that (V)you shared in my distress. 15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, (W)no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek (X)the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I [g]have all and abound. I am full, having received from (Y)Epaphroditus the things sent from you, (Z)a sweet-smelling aroma, (AA)an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God (AB)shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 (AC)Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Greeting and Blessing

21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren (AD)who are with me greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.

23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with [h]you all. Amen.

Rejoice in the Lord Always

Therefore my brothers, loved and (A)longed for, my joy and crown, in this way (B)stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to (C)think the same way in the Lord. Indeed, I ask you also, genuine companion, help these women who have contended together alongside of me in the gospel, with also Clement and the rest of my (D)fellow workers, whose (E)names are in the book of life.

(F)Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your considerate spirit be known to all men. (G)The Lord is [a]near. (H)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by (I)prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And (J)the peace of God, which surpasses all [b]comprehension, will (K)guard your hearts and your (L)minds in (M)Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, (N)whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is [c]lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, consider these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen (O)in me, practice these things, and (P)the God of peace will be with you.

God Will Fill Your Needs

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last (Q)you have revived thinking about me; indeed, you were thinking about me before, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak [d]from want, for I learned to be [e](R)content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in abundance; in any and all things I have learned the secret of being filled and going (S)hungry, both of having abundance and (T)suffering need. 13 I can do all things [f]through Him who (U)strengthens me. 14 Nevertheless, you have done well to (V)fellowship with me in my affliction.

15 And you yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the [g](W)first preaching of the gospel, after I left (X)Macedonia, no church (Y)fellowshipped with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone. 16 For even in (Z)Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 17 (AA)Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the fruit which increases to your account. 18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I have been filled, having received from (AB)Epaphroditus [h]what you have sent, [i](AC)a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And (AD)my God will fulfill [j]all your needs according to His (AE)riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 Now to (AF)our God and Father (AG)be the glory [k]forever and ever. Amen.

21 Greet every [l]saint in Christ Jesus. (AH)The brothers who are with me greet you. 22 (AI)All the [m](AJ)saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

23 (AK)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ (AL)be with your spirit.
