Ginadayeg ang Kaalam
8 Ang kaalam ug pagsabot sama sa tawong nagawali. 2 Nagabarog siya diha sa habog nga mga lugar sa daplin sa kadalanan, sa gisang-an sa dalan, 3 duol sa mga pultahan sa lungsod, ug sa mga agianan. Ug nagawali siyag kusog:
4 “Kamong tanan nga katawhan, nakigsulti ako.
5 Kamong mga walay kahibalo, pagmaalamon kamo.
Kamong mga buang-buang, sabta kini.
6 Pamati kamo, kay mapuslanon ug husto kining akong isulti.
7 Tinuod gayod ang akong ginasulti ug ngil-aran ako sa nagasultig daotan.
8 Matarong ang tanan kong ginasulti ug wala gayod kini sagol nga bakak o limbong.
9 Masabtan kining tanan ug walay sayop alang sa mga tawong may pagsabot.
10 Palabiha ang kaalam ug ang akong pagtul-id sa imong pamatasan kaysa pilak ug bulawan.
11 Kay ang kaalam mas bililhon pa kaysa mahalong mga bato ug wala gayoy butang nga imong pangandoyon nga makatupong niini.
12 Ako, nga mao ang kaalam, kahibalo motimbang-timbang kon unsay husto o dili, ug kahibalo ako modesisyon sa ensakto.
13 Ang nagatahod sa Ginoo nasilag sa daotan. Gikasilagan ko ang pagpanghambog, ang pagkamapahitas-on, ang daotang batasan, ug ang pagpamakak.
14 Maayo akong motambag ug may husto ako nga kaalam. May pagsabot ako ug gahom.
15 Pinaagi kanako makadumala ang mga hari, ug makahimo ang mga pangulo ug matarong nga mga kasugoan.
16 Pinaagi kanako makadumala ang mga tigdumala ug ang mga opisyal—ang tanan nga nagadumala nga matarong.[a]
17 Ginahigugma ko ang nagahigugma kanako;
ang mangita kanako makakaplag kanako.
18 Makahatag akog bahandi, dungog, kauswagan, ug kadaogan nga molungtad.
19 Ang akong mahatag mas bililhon pa kaysa purong bulawan o pilak.
20 Ginasunod ko kon unsay matarong ug husto.
21 Ang nagahigugma kanako hatagan kog bahandi;
pun-on ko ang ilang tipiganan sa bahandi.
22 Daan na akong kauban[b] sa Ginoo sa wala pa niya mugnaa ang tanan.
23-26 Gitugotan niya nga anaa na ako sukad pa sa una.
Diha na ako sa wala pa ang kalibotan: ang dagat, ang mga tuboran, ang mga bukid, ang mga bungtod, ang mga kaumahan, ug bisan ang mga abog.
27 Diha na ako sa pagmugna niya sa langit,
sa pagbutang niya sa daw utlanan sa langit ug sa yuta,
28 sa pagmugna niya sa mga panganod,
sa pagpatubod niya sa mga tuboran sa kahiladman,
29 sa pagbutang niya sa utlanan sa dagat aron dili kini molapaw,
ug sa pagbutang niya sa mga pundasyon sa kalibotan.
30 Sama ako sa usa ka arkitekto[c] diha sa tapad sa Ginoo.
Ako ang iyang kalipay adlaw-adlaw, ug malipayon ako kanunay sa iyang presensya.
31 Nalipay ako sa kalibotan nga iyang gimugna ug sa mga katawhan.
32 Busa karon mga anak, pamatia ninyo ako,
kay bulahan ang nagasunod sa akong mga pamaagi.
33 Pamatia ninyo ang akong pagtul-id sa inyong pamatasan aron mahimo kamong maalamon,
ug ayaw gayod ninyo kini kalimti.
34 Bulahan ang tawo nga kanunayng nangandam ug naghulat sa pagpamati kanako.
35 Kay ang tawo nga nagapangita kanako makaangkon sa maayo ug taas nga kinabuhi,
ug pakamaayohon siya sa Ginoo.
36 Apan ang tawo nga wala mangita kanako, nagasakit lang sa iyang kaugalingon.
Ang tanang mga nasuko kanako gusto ug kamatayon.”

Wisdom’s Call
8 Does not wisdom call out?(A)
Does not understanding raise her voice?
2 At the highest point along the way,
where the paths meet, she takes her stand;
3 beside the gate leading into the city,
at the entrance, she cries aloud:(B)
4 “To you, O people, I call out;(C)
I raise my voice to all mankind.
5 You who are simple,(D) gain prudence;(E)
you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.[a]
6 Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say;
I open my lips to speak what is right.
7 My mouth speaks what is true,(F)
for my lips detest wickedness.
8 All the words of my mouth are just;
none of them is crooked or perverse.
9 To the discerning all of them are right;
they are upright to those who have found knowledge.
10 Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,(G)
11 for wisdom is more precious(H) than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.(I)
12 “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;
I possess knowledge and discretion.(J)
13 To fear the Lord(K) is to hate evil;(L)
I hate(M) pride and arrogance,
evil behavior and perverse speech.
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine;
I have insight, I have power.(N)
15 By me kings reign
and rulers(O) issue decrees that are just;
16 by me princes govern,(P)
and nobles—all who rule on earth.[b]
17 I love those who love me,(Q)
and those who seek me find me.(R)
18 With me are riches and honor,(S)
enduring wealth and prosperity.(T)
19 My fruit is better than fine gold;(U)
what I yield surpasses choice silver.(V)
20 I walk in the way of righteousness,(W)
along the paths of justice,
21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me
and making their treasuries full.(X)
22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,[c][d]
before his deeds of old;
23 I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;(Y)
25 before the mountains were settled in place,(Z)
before the hills, I was given birth,(AA)
26 before he made the world or its fields
or any of the dust of the earth.(AB)
27 I was there when he set the heavens in place,(AC)
when he marked out the horizon(AD) on the face of the deep,
28 when he established the clouds above(AE)
and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,(AF)
29 when he gave the sea its boundary(AG)
so the waters would not overstep his command,(AH)
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.(AI)
30 Then I was constantly[e] at his side.(AJ)
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
31 rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.(AK)
32 “Now then, my children, listen(AL) to me;
blessed are(AM) those who keep my ways.(AN)
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen(AO) to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me(AP) find life(AQ)
and receive favor from the Lord.(AR)
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;(AS)
all who hate me love death.”(AT)
