16 (A)These were (B)chosen[a] from the congregation, leaders of their fathers’ tribes, (C)heads of the divisions in Israel.
17 Then Moses and Aaron took these men who had been [b]mentioned (D)by name, 18 and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their (E)ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually.

17 Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been specified, 18 and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month.(D) The people registered their ancestry(E) by their clans and families,(F) and the men twenty years old or more(G) were listed by name, one by one,
