13 Choose some wise, understanding and respected men(A) from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.”

14 You answered me, “What you propose to do is good.”

15 So I took(B) the leading men of your tribes,(C) wise and respected men,(D) and appointed them to have authority over you—as commanders(E) of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials.(F) 16 And I charged your judges at that time, “Hear the disputes between your people and judge(G) fairly,(H) whether the case is between two Israelites or between an Israelite and a foreigner residing among you.(I) 17 Do not show partiality(J) in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone,(K) for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.”(L)

Caleb(E) son of Jephunneh,

from the tribe of Judah;(F)

20 Shemuel son of Ammihud,

from the tribe of Simeon;(G)

21 Elidad son of Kislon,

from the tribe of Benjamin;(H)

22 Bukki son of Jogli,

the leader from the tribe of Dan;

23 Hanniel son of Ephod,

the leader from the tribe of Manasseh(I) son of Joseph;

24 Kemuel son of Shiphtan,

the leader from the tribe of Ephraim(J) son of Joseph;

25 Elizaphan son of Parnak,

the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;(K)

26 Paltiel son of Azzan,

the leader from the tribe of Issachar;

27 Ahihud son of Shelomi,

the leader from the tribe of Asher;(L)

28 Pedahel son of Ammihud,

the leader from the tribe of Naphtali.”

10 from the sons of Joseph:

from Ephraim,(O) Elishama son of Ammihud;(P)

from Manasseh,(Q) Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;(R)

11 from Benjamin,(S) Abidan son of Gideoni;(T)

12 from Dan,(U) Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;(V)

13 from Asher,(W) Pagiel son of Okran;(X)

14 from Gad,(Y) Eliasaph son of Deuel;(Z)

16 These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders(AC) of their ancestral tribes.(AD) They were the heads of the clans of Israel.(AE)
