² and rose up against Moses.^(A) With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council.^(B)

⁹ and the sons of Eliab^(A) were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. The same Dathan and Abiram were the community^(B) officials who rebelled against Moses and Aaron and were among Korah’s followers when they rebelled against the Lord.^(C)

¹⁰ They stripped^(A) her naked, took away her sons and daughters and killed her with the sword. She became a byword among women,^(B) and punishment was inflicted^(C) on her.^(D)

²⁴ These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. They were brave warriors, famous men, and heads of their families.

⁴ The Nephilim^(A) were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans^(B) and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.^(C)

¹⁴ And your fame^(A) spread among the nations on account of your beauty,^(B) because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(C)

¹⁶ These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders^(A) of their ancestral tribes.^(B) They were the heads of the clans of Israel.^(C)
