¹⁰ Since then, no prophet^(A) has risen in Israel like Moses,^(B) whom the Lord knew face to face,^(C)

¹² For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;^(A) then we shall see face to face.^(B) Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.^(C)

²³ Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”

¹¹ The Lord would speak to Moses face to face,^(A) as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua^(B) son of Nun did not leave the tent.

⁴ The god^(A) of this age^(B) has blinded^(C) the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ,^(D) who is the image of God.^{(E) 5} For what we preach is not ourselves,^(F) but Jesus Christ as Lord,^(G) and ourselves as your servants^(H) for Jesus’ sake. ⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”^[a](I) made his light shine in our hearts^(J) to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.^(K)

¹⁵ I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.^(A)

⁷ If you really know me, you will know^[a] my Father as well.^(A) From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

⁸ Philip^(B) said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

⁹ Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.^(C) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰ Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?^(D) The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority.^(E) Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

¹⁶ “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”^(A)
