Micah 5:6-6:8

6 They shall rule the land of Assyria with the sword,
and the land of Nimrod with the drawn sword;[a]
they[b] shall rescue us from the Assyrians
if they come into our land
or tread within our border.
The Future Role of the Remnant
7 Then the remnant of Jacob,
surrounded by many peoples,
shall be like dew from the Lord,
like showers on the grass,
which do not depend upon people
or wait for any mortal.
8 And among the nations the remnant of Jacob,
surrounded by many peoples,
shall be like a lion among the animals of the forest,
like a young lion among the flocks of sheep,
which, when it goes through, treads down
and tears in pieces, with no one to deliver.
9 Your hand shall be lifted up over your adversaries,
and all your enemies shall be cut off.
10 In that day, says the Lord,
I will cut off your horses from among you
and will destroy your chariots;
11 and I will cut off the cities of your land
and throw down all your strongholds;
12 and I will cut off sorceries from your hand,
and you shall have no more soothsayers;
13 and I will cut off your images
and your pillars from among you,
and you shall bow down no more
to the work of your hands;
14 and I will uproot your sacred poles[c] from among you
and destroy your towns.
15 And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance
on the nations that did not obey.
God Challenges Israel
6 Hear what the Lord says:
Rise, plead your case before the mountains,
and let the hills hear your voice.
2 Hear, you mountains, the controversy of the Lord,
and you enduring foundations of the earth;
for the Lord has a controversy with his people,
and he will contend with Israel.
3 “O my people, what have I done to you?
In what have I wearied you? Answer me!
4 For I brought you up from the land of Egypt,
and redeemed you from the house of slavery;
and I sent before you Moses,
Aaron, and Miriam.
5 O my people, remember now what King Balak of Moab devised,
what Balaam son of Beor answered him,
and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal,
that you may know the saving acts of the Lord.”
What God Requires
6 “With what shall I come before the Lord,
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
8 He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?

7 Il resto di Giacobbe sarà fra le nazioni, in mezzo a molti popoli, come un leone tra gli animali della foresta, come un leoncello fra le greggi di pecore che, quando passa, calpesta e sbrana, e nessuno può liberare.
8 Si alzi la tua mano sopra i tuoi avversari e tutti i tuoi nemici siano sterminati!
9 (B)«Quel giorno», dice il Signore, «io sterminerò i tuoi cavalli in mezzo a te e distruggerò i tuoi carri;
10 annienterò le città del tuo paese e abbatterò tutte le tue fortezze.

Il Signore muove causa contro il suo popolo
6 (C)Ascoltate quindi ciò che dice il Signore: «Àlzati, contendi con le montagne, i colli odano la tua voce!
2 Ascoltate, o monti, la causa del Signore! Anche voi, salde fondamenta della terra! Poiché il Signore contende con il suo popolo e vuole discutere con Israele.
3 Popolo mio, che ti ho fatto? In che cosa ti ho stancato? Testimonia pure contro di me!
4 Sono io infatti che ti ho condotto fuori dal paese d’Egitto, ti ho liberato dalla casa di schiavitù, ho mandato davanti a te Mosè, Aaronne e Miriam.
5 Ricorda dunque, popolo mio, quel che tramava Balac, re di Moab, e che cosa gli rispose Balaam, figlio di Beor, da Sittim a Ghilgal, affinché tu riconosca la giustizia del Signore».
6 (D)Con che cosa verrò in presenza del Signore e mi inchinerò davanti al Dio eccelso? Verrò in sua presenza con olocausti, con vitelli di un anno?

7 Und der Überrest Jakobs wird unter den Nationen inmitten vieler Völker sein wie ein Löwe unter den Tieren des Waldes, wie ein junger Löwe unter den Schafherden, der, wenn er hindurchgeht, niedertritt und zerreißt, sodass niemand retten kann.
8 Deine Hand wird siegen über deine Widersacher, und alle deine Feinde sollen ausgerottet werden!
9 An jenem Tag soll es geschehen, spricht der Herr, dass ich deine Pferde aus deiner Mitte ausrotten und deine Wagen abschaffen werde;
10 und ich will die Städte deines Landes ausrotten und alle deine Festungen niederreißen.

14 Und ich werde mit Zorn und Grimm Rache üben an den Heidenvölkern, die nicht hören wollten.
Gottes Rechtsstreit mit seinem Volk
6 Hört doch, was der Herr spricht: Mache dich auf, führe den Rechtsstreit angesichts der Berge, und lass die Hügel deine Stimme hören!
2 Hört doch, ihr Berge, den Rechtsstreit des Herrn und [achtet darauf,] ihr unwandelbaren Grundfesten der Erde! Denn der Herr hat einen Rechtsstreit mit seinem Volk, und mit Israel will er sich auseinandersetzen.
3 Mein Volk, was habe ich dir angetan, und womit habe ich dich beleidigt[a]? Lege Zeugnis ab gegen mich!
4 Habe ich dich doch aus dem Land Ägypten heraufgeführt und dich aus dem Haus der Knechtschaft erlöst und Mose, Aaron und Mirjam vor dir her gesandt!
5 Mein Volk, bedenke doch, was Balak, der König von Moab, vorhatte, und was Bileam, der Sohn Beors, ihm antwortete, [und was geschah] von Sittim bis Gilgal, damit du die gerechten Taten[b] des Herrn erkennst!

6 Olyan lesz Jákób maradéka a többi nép között, mint az Úrtól jövő harmat, mint a fűre hulló zápor, mert nem emberben reménykedik, nem emberekben bízik.
7 Olyan lesz Jákób maradéka a nemzetek között, a többi nép között, mint az oroszlán az erdő vadjai közt, mint az oroszlánkölyök a juhnyájak közt: amerre jár, tipor és tép menthetetlenül.
8 Kezed ellenfeleidre nehezedik, minden ellenségedet kiirtod.
9 Azon a napon - így szól az Úr - kiirtom lovaidat, és elpusztítom a harci kocsikat.
10 Kiirtom országod városait, és lerombolom minden erődödet.
11 Kiirtom varázsszereidet a kezedből, nem lesznek többé jelmagyarázóid.

6 Hallgassátok meg, amit az Úr mond! Szállj perbe a hegyekkel, hadd hallják meg hangodat a halmok!
2 Halljátok meg, hegyek, az Úr perbeszédét, ti is, ősrégi alapjai a földnek! Mert pere van népével az Úrnak, törvénykezni akar Izráellel.
3 Én népem, mit vétettem ellened, mivel bántottalak? Felelj nekem!
4 Hiszen kihoztalak Egyiptom földjéről, kiváltottalak a szolgaság házából. Elküldtem Mózest, Áront és Mirjámot, hogy vezessenek.
5 Én népem, emlékezz csak! Mit tervezett Bálák, Móáb királya, mit válaszolt neki Bálám, Beór fia, és mi történt Sittímtől Gilgálig? Akkor megismered az Úr igaz tetteit!
6 Mivel járuljak az Úr elé? Hajlongjak-e a magasságos Isten előtt? Talán égőáldozattal járuljak elébe, esztendős borjakkal?
7 Talán kedvét leli az Úr a kosok ezreiben, vagy az olajpatakok tízezreiben? Talán elsőszülöttemet áldozzam bűnömért, drága gyermekemet vétkes életemért?

Dieu purifie son peuple

l’Eternel le déclare,

Le procès contre des ingrats
6 Ecoutez donc |ce que dit l’Eternel :
Lève-toi et engage |un procès devant les montagnes
et que les collines t’entendent !
2 Ecoutez donc, montagnes, |fondements immuables de la terre,
le plaidoyer de l’Eternel.
Car l’Eternel est en procès |avec son peuple,
il va plaider contre Israël.
3 Que t’ai-je fait, mon peuple ?
En quoi t’ai-je lassé ?
Réponds-moi donc !
4 T’ai-je lassé |en te faisant sortir[a] d’Egypte,
et en te délivrant |de ce pays où tu étais esclave,
et en envoyant devant toi |Moïse, Aaron et Miryam[b] ?
5 Souviens-toi donc,
de ce qu’avait tramé |Balaq, roi de Moab,

8 On te l’a enseigné, ô homme, |ce qui est bien
et ce que l’Eternel |attend de toi :
