Woe to the Oppressors of God’s People
2 Woe to those who plan wickedness
and evil deeds upon their beds!
In the light of the morning they did it,
because they have power in their hands.
2 They covet fields and seize them,
and houses, and they take them away.
They oppress a man and his house;
a man and his inheritance.
3 Therefore, thus says Yahweh: Look! I am planning disaster against this family from which you will not be able to remove your necks. You will not walk proudly, for it is a time of disaster.
4 In that day they will raise a proverb against you,
and will wail a bitter wailing, saying,
“We are utterly ruined;
he exchanges the portion of my people.
How he removes it from me;
he apportions our field to an apostate.”
5 Therefore you will have no one casting a line by lot
in the assembly of Yahweh.
6 “Do not preach!” they are preaching.
They should not preach to these;
disgrace will not overtake us.
7 Should this be said, O house of Jacob?
Is the patience[a] of Yahweh shortened?
Are these his deeds?
Are my words not pleasing
to him who walks upright?
8 But recently[b] my people have risen up as an enemy;
from before the cloak you strip off the robe
from those passing by in confidence,
returning from war.
9 You have driven out the women of my people
from the houses of their[c] pleasure.
From their[d] children you have taken away
my glory forever.
10 Arise and go,
for this is no resting place,
on account of uncleanness that destroys
with painful destruction.
11 If a man walks about in a spirit of deception and lies,
saying “I will preach to you of wine and strong drink,”
then he would be a preacher for this people!
12 I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob;
I will surely gather together the remainder of Israel.
I will set them like sheep of Bozrah.
Like a herd in the midst of their pasture
they will be in tumult from people.
13 The one who breaks out before them goes up;
they break through and pass the gate,
going out through it.
Their king passes before them,
Yahweh at their head.

2 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
3 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
4 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the Lord.
6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.

2 (A)Горко на ония, които кроят беззаконие и на леглата си измислят злодеяния, що извършват сутрин на разсъмване, защото има сила в ръката им!
2 (B)Пожелаят ниви – и вземат ги насила, къщи – и отнимат ги; обират човека и къщата му, мъжа и наследието му.
3 (C)Затова тъй казва Господ: ето, Аз замислям да напратя върху тоя род такова нещастие, което не ще смъкнете от врата си, и не ще ходите изправени; защото това време е зло.
4 (D)В оня ден ще кажат притча за вас, ще плачат горко и ще думат: „съвсем сме разорени! делът на моя народ е даден на други; как ще ми се върне? Нивите ни са вече на другородци раздадени“.
5 (E)Затова не ще имаш никого, който при измерване да хвърли жребие в събранието пред Господа.
6 Не пророкувайте, пророци; не им пророкувайте, за да ви не постигне безчестие.
7 (F)О, ти, който се наричаш Иаковов дом! Нима се смали Духът Господен? Такива ли са делата Му? Думите Ми не са ли благотворни за оногова, който постъпва справедливо?
8 Ала народът, който беше изпреди Мой, въстана като враг, и вие отнемате както горната, тъй и долната дреха на минаващите мирно, на ония, които се отвръщат от война.
9 Жените на Моя народ вие гоните от приятните им къщи; на децата им отнехте завинаги Моята украса.
10 (G)Станете и вървете си, защото тая страна не е място за почивка; поради мръсотия тя ще бъде разорена, и то – с люто разорение.
11 (H)Ако някой ветрогон измисли лъжа и каже: „ще ти проповядвам за вино и сикер“, той би бил угоден проповедник за тоя народ.
12 (I)Непременно ще те събера цял, Иакове, бездруго ще съединя остатките на Израиля, ще ги събера в едно като овци във Восор, като стадо в овча кошара; ще зашумят те от многолюдство.
13 (J)Пред тях ще тръгне стенобоец; те ще разбият прегради, ще влязат през порти и ще излязат през тях, и царят им ще тръгне пред тях, а тям начело – Господ.

El castigo a los ricos opresores
2 ¡Ay de los que piensan en el mal
y aun en sus camas traman planes malvados!
En cuanto amanece, los llevan a cabo
porque tienen el poder en sus manos.
2 Codician campos y se apropian de ellos;
codician casas y de ellas se adueñan.
Oprimen al dueño y a su familia,
al hombre y a su propiedad.
3 Por tanto, así dice el Señor:
«Ahora soy yo el que piensa
traer sobre ellos una desgracia
de la que no podrán escapar.
Ya no andarán erguidos,
porque ha llegado la hora de su calamidad.
4 En aquel día se les hará burla,
y se les cantará este lamento:
“¡Estamos perdidos!
Se están repartiendo los campos de mi pueblo.
¡Cómo me los arrebatan!
Nuestra tierra se la reparten los traidores”».
5 Por eso no tendrán en la asamblea del Señor
a nadie que reparta la tierra.
Falsos profetas
6 «No profeticen», dicen sus profetas.
«No profeticen de esas cosas,
pues la desgracia no nos alcanzará»
7 Descendientes de Jacob, acaso no se dice:
«¿Ha perdido el Espíritu del Señor la paciencia?
¿Es esta su manera de actuar?».
«¿Acaso no hacen bien mis palabras
para el que camina en rectitud?
8 Ayer ustedes eran mi pueblo,
pero hoy se han vuelto mis enemigos.
A los que pasan confiados,
a los que vuelven de la guerra,
los despojan de su manto.
9 Echan de sus preciadas casas
a las mujeres de mi pueblo.
Quitan mi bendición
de sus niños para siempre.
10 ¡Levántense! ¡Pónganse en marcha,
que este no es un lugar de reposo!
¡Está contaminado,
destruido sin remedio!
11 Si con la intención de mentirles
llega algún engañador prometiendo
abundancia de vino y cerveza,
este pueblo lo verá como un profeta.
Promesa de liberación
12 »Te aseguro, Jacob,
que yo reuniré a todo tu pueblo.
Te aseguro, Israel,
que yo juntaré a tu remanente.
Los congregaré como a rebaño en el redil
y como ovejas en medio del pastizal;
la multitud hará gran alboroto.
13 El que abre brecha marchará al frente
y también ellos se abrirán camino;
atravesarán la puerta y se irán,
mientras su Rey avanza al frente,
mientras el Señor va a la cabeza».
