Jésus maître du sabbat(A)
12 A cette époque, un jour de sabbat, Jésus traversait des champs de blé. Comme ses disciples avaient faim, ils se mirent à cueillir des épis pour en manger les grains[a].
2 Quand les pharisiens virent cela, ils dirent à Jésus : Regarde tes disciples : ils font ce qui est interdit le jour du sabbat !
3 Il leur répondit : N’avez-vous donc pas lu ce qu’a fait David lorsque lui et ses compagnons avaient faim ? 4 Il est entré dans le sanctuaire de Dieu et il a mangé avec eux les pains exposés devant Dieu. Or, ni lui ni ses hommes n’avaient le droit d’en manger, ils étaient réservés uniquement aux prêtres. 5 Ou bien, n’avez-vous pas lu dans la Loi que, le jour du sabbat, les prêtres qui travaillent dans le Temple violent la loi sur le sabbat, sans pour cela se rendre coupables d’aucune faute ?
6 Or, je vous le dis : il y a ici plus que le Temple. 7 Ah ! si vous aviez compris le sens de cette parole : Ce que je veux, c’est la compassion bien plus que les sacrifices[b], vous n’auriez pas condamné ces innocents. 8 Car le Fils de l’homme est maître du sabbat.
9 En partant de là, Jésus se rendit dans l’une de leurs synagogues. 10 Il y avait là un homme paralysé d’une main.
Les pharisiens demandèrent à Jésus : A-t-on le droit de guérir quelqu’un le jour du sabbat ?
Ils voulaient ainsi pouvoir l’accuser.
11 Mais il leur répondit : Supposez que l’un de vous n’ait qu’un seul mouton et qu’un jour de sabbat, il tombe dans un trou profond. Ne va-t-il pas le prendre et l’en sortir ? 12 Eh bien, un homme a beaucoup plus de valeur qu’un mouton ! Il est donc permis de faire du bien le jour du sabbat.
13 Alors il dit à l’homme : Etends la main !
Il la tendit et elle redevint saine, comme l’autre.
14 Les pharisiens sortirent de la synagogue et se concertèrent sur les moyens de faire mourir Jésus.
Jésus le Serviteur de l’Eternel
15 Quand Jésus sut qu’on voulait le tuer, il partit de là. Une grande foule le suivit et il guérit tous les malades. 16 Mais il leur défendit formellement de le faire connaître. 17 Ainsi devait s’accomplir cette parole du prophète Esaïe :
18 Voici mon serviteur, dit Dieu, celui que j’ai choisi,
celui que j’aime et qui fait toute ma joie.
Je ferai reposer mon Esprit sur lui
et il annoncera la justice à tous les peuples.
19 Il ne cherchera pas querelle,
il ne criera pas.
On n’entendra pas sa voix dans les rues.
20 Il ne brisera pas le roseau qui se ploie
et il n’éteindra pas la lampe
dont la mèche fume encore.
Il agira encore,
jusqu’à ce qu’il ait assuré le triomphe de la justice[c] .
21 Tous les peuples mettront leur espoir en lui[d] .
Dieu ou Satan ?(B)
22 On lui amena encore un homme qui était sous l’emprise d’un démon qui le rendait aveugle et muet. Jésus le guérit, et l’homme put de nouveau parler et voir.
23 La foule, stupéfaite, disait : Cet homme n’est-il pas le Fils de David ?
24 Les pharisiens, ayant appris ce qu’on disait de lui, déclarèrent : Si cet homme chasse les démons, c’est par le pouvoir de Béelzébul[e], le chef des démons.
25 Mais Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, leur dit : Tout royaume déchiré par la guerre civile est dévasté. Aucune ville, aucune famille divisée ne peut subsister. 26 Si donc Satan se met à chasser Satan, il est en conflit avec lui-même. Comment alors son royaume subsistera-t-il ?
27 D’ailleurs, si moi je chasse les démons par Béelzébul, qui donc donne à vos disciples le pouvoir de les chasser ? C’est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges. 28 Mais si c’est par l’Esprit de Dieu que je chasse les démons, alors, de toute évidence, le royaume de Dieu est venu jusqu’à vous.
29 Ou encore : Comment quelqu’un peut-il pénétrer dans la maison d’un homme fort et s’emparer de ses biens s’il n’a pas, tout d’abord, ligoté cet homme fort ? C’est alors qu’il pillera sa maison.
30 Celui qui n’est pas avec moi est contre moi, et celui qui ne se joint pas à moi pour rassembler, disperse. 31 C’est pourquoi je vous avertis : tout péché, tout blasphème sera pardonné aux hommes mais pas le blasphème contre le Saint-Esprit. 32 Si quelqu’un dit une parole contre le Fils de l’homme, il lui sera pardonné ; mais si quelqu’un parle contre le Saint-Esprit, il ne recevra pas le pardon, ni dans la vie présente ni dans le monde à venir.

33 Considérez ou bien que l’arbre est bon et que son fruit est bon, ou bien que l’arbre est mauvais et que son fruit est mauvais[f], car c’est à son fruit que l’on reconnaît l’arbre. 34 Espèces de vipères ! Comment pouvez-vous tenir des propos qui soient bons alors que vous êtes mauvais ? Car ce qu’on dit vient de ce qui remplit le cœur. 35 L’homme qui est bon tire de bonnes choses du bon trésor qui est en lui ; mais l’homme qui est mauvais tire de mauvaises choses du mauvais trésor qui est en lui. 36 Or, je vous le déclare, au jour du jugement les hommes rendront compte de toute parole sans fondement[g] qu’ils auront prononcée. 37 En effet, c’est en fonction de tes propres paroles que tu seras déclaré juste, ou que tu seras condamné.
38 Quelques spécialistes de la Loi et des pharisiens intervinrent en disant : Maître, nous voudrions te voir faire un signe miraculeux.
39 Il leur répondit : Ces gens de notre temps qui sont mauvais et infidèles à Dieu réclament un signe miraculeux ! Un signe… il ne leur en sera pas accordé d’autre que celui du prophète Jonas. 40 En effet, comme Jonas resta trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre du poisson[h], ainsi le Fils de l’homme passera trois jours et trois nuits dans le sein de la terre.
41 Au jour du jugement, les habitants de Ninive[i] se lèveront et condamneront les gens de notre temps, car ils ont changé en réponse à la prédication de Jonas. Or, il y a ici plus que Jonas. 42 Au jour du jugement, la reine du Midi se lèvera et condamnera les gens de notre temps, car elle est venue du bout du monde pour écouter l’enseignement plein de sagesse de Salomon. Or, il y a ici plus que Salomon !

43 Lorsqu’un esprit mauvais est sorti de quelqu’un, il erre çà et là dans des lieux déserts, à la recherche d’un lieu de repos, et il n’en trouve pas. 44 Il se dit alors : « Mieux vaut regagner la demeure que j’ai quittée. » Il y retourne donc et la trouve vide, balayée et mise en ordre. 45 Alors il va chercher sept autres esprits encore plus méchants que lui et les amène avec lui. Ils entrent dans la demeure et s’y installent. Finalement, la condition de cet homme est pire qu’avant. C’est exactement ce qui arrivera à ces gens de notre temps qui sont mauvais.
La vraie famille de Jésus(C)
46 Pendant que Jésus parlait encore à la foule, voici que sa mère et ses frères se tenaient dehors, cherchant à lui parler.
[47 Quelqu’un vint lui dire : Ta mère et tes frères sont là. Ils cherchent à te parler[j]].
48 Mais Jésus lui répondit : Qui est ma mère ? Qui sont mes frères ? 49 Puis, désignant ses disciples d’un geste de la main, il ajouta : Ma mère et mes frères, les voici. 50 Car celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père céleste, celui-là est pour moi un frère, une sœur, une mère.

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(A)(B)
12 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain(C) and eat them. 2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”(D)
3 He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?(E) 4 He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests.(F) 5 Or haven’t you read in the Law that the priests on Sabbath duty in the temple desecrate the Sabbath(G) and yet are innocent? 6 I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.(H) 7 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’[a](I) you would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Son of Man(J) is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10 and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus,(K) they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”(L)
11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?(M) 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!(N) Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.(O)
God’s Chosen Servant
15 Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill.(P) 16 He warned them not to tell others about him.(Q) 17 This was to fulfill(R) what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
18 “Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
the one I love, in whom I delight;(S)
I will put my Spirit on him,(T)
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out;
no one will hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.
21 In his name the nations will put their hope.”[b](U)
Jesus and Beelzebul(V)
22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.(W) 23 All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”(X)
24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul,(Y) the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”(Z)
25 Jesus knew their thoughts(AA) and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan(AB) drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul,(AC) by whom do your people(AD) drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God(AE) has come upon you.
29 “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
30 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.(AF) 31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.(AG) 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age(AH) or in the age to come.(AI)
33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.(AJ) 34 You brood of vipers,(AK) how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks(AL) what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”(AM)
The Sign of Jonah(AN)(AO)
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign(AP) from you.”(AQ)
39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.(AR) 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish,(AS) so the Son of Man(AT) will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.(AU) 41 The men of Nineveh(AV) will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah,(AW) and now something greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came(AX) from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.
43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.(AY) That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers(AZ)
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother(BA) and brothers(BB) stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven(BC) is my brother and sister and mother.”

上帝的仆人

所眷爱、所喜悦的仆人,

树与果
33 “好树结好果子,坏树结坏果子,看果子就能知道树的好坏。 34 你们这些毒蛇的后代!你们心里邪恶,又怎能讲出好话呢?因为心里充满的,口里自然会说出来。 35 善人心存良善,就从他里面发出良善;恶人心存邪恶,就从他里面发出邪恶。 36 我告诉你们,在审判之日,人将为自己所说的每一句闲话负责, 37 因为将来要凭你口中的话来判断你是否有罪。”
求神迹
38 当时,有几个律法教师和法利赛人对耶稣说:“老师,我们想要看你行个神迹。” 39 耶稣回答说:“一个邪恶淫乱的世代想看神迹,可是除了约拿先知的神迹以外,再没有神迹给他们看。 40 约拿在大鱼腹中三日三夜,人子也要在地里三日三夜。 41 在审判的日子,尼尼微人和这世代的人都要起来[a],尼尼微人要定这个世代的罪,因为他们听到约拿的宣告,就悔改了。看啊!这里有一人比约拿更伟大。 42 在审判的日子,南方的女王和这世代的人都要起来,她要定这个世代的罪,因为她曾不远千里来听所罗门王的智言慧语。看啊!这里有一人比所罗门王更伟大。
乘虚而入
43 “有一个污鬼离开了它以前所附的人,在干旱无水之地四处游荡,寻找安歇之处,却没有找到。 44 于是它说,‘我要回到老地方。’它回去后,看见里面空着,打扫得又干净又整齐, 45 就去带来了七个比自己更邪恶的鬼一起住在那里。那人的下场比从前更惨了。这个邪恶的世代也会这样。”

46 耶稣还在和众人说话的时候,祂的母亲和兄弟站在外面,想要跟祂说话。 47 有人告诉祂:“你的母亲和兄弟在外面有话要跟你说。”
48 耶稣说:“谁是我的母亲?谁是我的兄弟?” 49 祂伸出手来指着门徒说:“你们看!这些人就是我的母亲和我的兄弟。 50 凡遵行我天父旨意的人都是我的弟兄、姊妹和母亲。”

Behold, My Servant

A House Divided Cannot Stand(S)

The Unpardonable Sin(Z)

A Tree Known by Its Fruit(AE)

An Unclean Spirit Returns(AQ)

46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, (AV)behold, His mother and (AW)brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, (AX)Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”
48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My (AY)brothers! 50 For (AZ)whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
