Authority to Pardon Sins
9 After getting into a boat, Yeshua crossed over and came to His own town. 2 Just then, some people brought to Him a paralyzed man lying on a cot. And seeing their faith, Yeshua said to the paralyzed man, “Take courage, son! Your sins are forgiven.”
3 Then some of the Torah scholars said among themselves, “This fellow blasphemes!”
4 And knowing their thoughts, Yeshua said, “Why are you entertaining evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to pardon sins...” Then He tells the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your cot and go home.” 7 And he got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw it, they were afraid and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
A Physician for Sinners
9 As Yeshua was passing by from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he got up and followed Him.
10 Now it happened that when Yeshua was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Yeshua and His disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why does this Teacher of yours eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 But when He heard this, Yeshua said, “Those who are healthy have no need for a doctor, but those who are sick do. 13 Now go and learn what this means: ‘Mercy I desire, and not sacrifice.’[a] For I didn’t come to call the righteous, but the sinful.”
Teaching New Ways
14 Then John’s disciples came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”[b]
15 And Yeshua said to them, “The guests of the bridegroom cannot mourn while the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
16 “And no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch pulls away from the garment and a worse tear happens. 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, and the wine spills out and the skins are ruined. But they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Compassion in the Shepherd’s Touch
18 Just as He was saying these things to them, a synagogue leader came and began to bow before Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19 And Yeshua got up and began to follow him, with His disciples.
20 Just then a woman, losing blood for twelve years,[c] came from behind and touched the tzitzit of His garment. 21 For she kept saying to herself, “If only I touch His garment, I will be healed.”
22 But then Yeshua turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He said, “your faith has made you well.” That very hour the woman was healed.
23 When Yeshua came into the synagogue leader’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said, “Go away, for the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” And they began jeering at Him. 25 But when the crowd had been cleared out, He went in and took her hand, and the girl got up. 26 And news of this spread all around that region.
27 As Yeshua went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Ben-David, have mercy on us!”
28 When He went into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Yeshua said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Master,” they said to Him.
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, let it be done for you.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Yeshua warned them sternly, “See that no one knows.” 31 But they went out and spread the news about Him all around that region.
32 As they were going out, a mute man plagued by a demon was brought to Him. 33 After the demon was driven out, the mute man started speaking. The crowds were astounded, saying, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!” 34 But the Pharisees were saying, “By the prince of demons He drives out demons.”
35 Now Yeshua was going around all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. 36 When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. [d] 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workers into His harvest field.”

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic(A)
9 So He got into a boat, crossed over, (B)and came to His own city. 2 (C)Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. (D)When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”
3 And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”
4 But Jesus, (E)knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 7 And he arose and departed to his house.
8 Now when the multitudes saw it, they (F)marveled[a] and glorified God, who had given such power to men.
Matthew the Tax Collector(G)
9 (H)As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.
10 (I)Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with (J)tax collectors and (K)sinners?”
12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: (L)‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, (M)but sinners, [b]to repentance.”
Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting(N)
14 Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, (O)“Why do we and the Pharisees fast [c]often, but Your disciples do not fast?”
15 And Jesus said to them, “Can (P)the [d]friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and (Q)then they will fast. 16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for [e]the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins [f]break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed(R)
18 (S)While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His (T)disciples.
20 (U)And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and (V)touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; (W)your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
23 (X)When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw (Y)the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, (Z)“Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and (AA)took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the (AB)report of this went out into all that land.
Two Blind Men Healed
27 When Jesus departed from there, (AC)two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, (AD)“Son of David, have mercy on us!”
28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, (AE)“See that no one knows it.” 31 (AF)But when they had departed, they [g]spread the news about Him in all that [h]country.
A Mute Man Speaks
32 (AG)As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and demon-possessed. 33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, “It was never seen like this in Israel!”
34 But the Pharisees said, (AH)“He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.”
The Compassion of Jesus(AI)
35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, (AJ)teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease [i]among the people. 36 (AK)But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were [j]weary and scattered, (AL)like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, (AM)“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 (AN)Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Pinagaling ni Jesus ang Isang Paralitiko(A)
9 Sumakay si Jesus sa isang bangka, tumawid sa kabilang pampang at dumating sa kanyang sariling bayan. 2 Dinala sa kanya ng mga tao ang isang paralitikong nakaratay sa isang banig. Nang makita ni Jesus ang kanilang pananampalataya, sinabi niya sa paralitiko, “Patatagin mo ang iyong loob, anak. Pinatawad na ang iyong mga kasalanan.” 3 May mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan na naroon ang nagsabi sa kani-kanilang sarili, “Lumalapastangan ang taong ito.” 4 Subalit dahil nalalaman ni Jesus ang kanilang mga iniisip, sinabi niya, “Bakit nag-iisip kayo ng masama sa inyong mga puso? 5 Alin ba ang mas madali, ang sabihing, ‘Pinatawad na ang iyong mga kasalanan’? o ang sabihing, ‘Bumangon ka at lumakad’? 6 Subalit upang malaman ninyong dito sa lupa, ang Anak ng Tao ay may kapangyarihang magpatawad ng mga kasalanan,” sinabi niya sa paralitiko, “Bumangon ka, damputin mo ang iyong higaan at umuwi ka na.” 7 Bumangon nga ang paralitiko at umuwi. 8 Nang makita ito ng napakaraming tao, natakot sila at nagbigay-luwalhati sa Diyos na nagkaloob ng gayong kapangyarihan sa mga tao.

9 Sa paglalakad ni Jesus mula roon ay nakita niya ang isang taong tinatawag na Mateo, na nakaupo sa tanggapan ng buwis. Sinabi niya rito, “Sumunod ka sa akin.” Tumayo nga siya at sumunod sa kanya. 10 Habang nakaupo si Jesus sa may hapag-kainan sa bahay, maraming mga maniningil ng buwis at mga makasalanan ang dumating at naupong kasalo niya at ng kanyang mga alagad. 11 Nang ito'y makita ng mga Fariseo, sinabi nila sa kanyang mga alagad, “Bakit ang inyong guro ay nakikisalo sa mga maniningil ng buwis at sa mga makasalanan?” 12 Nang ito'y marinig ni Jesus, sinabi niya, “Hindi nangangailangan ng manggagamot ang malulusog, kundi ang mga may sakit. 13 Humayo kayo at pag-aralan ninyo ang ibig sabihin nito: ‘Ang nais ko'y habag, at hindi handog.’ Sapagkat dumating ako hindi upang tawagin ang matutuwid, kundi ang mga makasalanan.”

14 Dumating naman sa kanya ang mga alagad ni Juan, at nagsabi, “Bakit kami pati ang mga Fariseo ay nag-aayuno, samantalang ang iyong mga alagad ay hindi nag-aayuno?” 15 Sinabi ni Jesus sa kanila, “Maaari bang magpakalungkot ang mga inanyayahan sa kasalan habang kasama nila ang lalaking ikakasal? Darating ang panahon na kukunin sa kanila ang lalaking ikakasal at doon pa lamang sila mag-aayuno. 16 Walang taong gumagamit ng hindi pa pinaurong na tela upang itagpi sa lumang damit, sapagkat babatakin ng itinagping tela ang damit, at lalong magiging malaki ang sira. 17 Hindi rin inilalagay ang bagong alak sa mga lumang lalagyang balat. Kapag ganoon ang ginawa, puputok ang mga balat, matatapon ang alak, at magpupunit-punit ang mga balat. Sa halip, ang bagong alak ay inilalagay sa mga bagong lalagyang balat, at pareho silang magtatagal.”
Muling Binuhay ang Anak ng Pinuno at Pinagaling ang Isang Babae(D)
18 Habang sinasabi ni Jesus ang mga ito sa kanila, dumating ang isang pinuno at nanikluhod sa kanya. “Kamamatay po lamang ng aking anak na babae, ngunit puntahan ninyo at ipatong ang inyong kamay sa kanya, at siya'y mabubuhay.” 19 Tumayo si Jesus at sumama sa kanya, pati ang kanyang mga alagad. 20 Samantala, may isang babaing labindalawang taon nang pinahihirapan ng pagdurugo, lumapit siya sa likuran ni Jesus at hinipo ang laylayan ng damit nito. 21 Sinabi ng babae sa kanyang sarili, “Mahawakan ko lamang ang kanyang damit ay gagaling na ako.” 22 Lumingon si Jesus, at pagkakita sa babae ay sinabi niya, “Patatagin mo ang iyong loob, anak. Pinagaling ka ng iyong pagsampalataya.” Nang oras ding iyon ay gumaling ang babae. 23 Pagdating ni Jesus sa bahay ng pinuno at makita ang mga manunugtog ng plauta at ang maraming taong nagkakagulo, 24 sinabi niya, “Umalis na kayo. Hindi naman patay ang bata kundi natutulog lamang.” Pinagtawanan nila si Jesus. 25 Nang mapalabas na ang maraming tao, pumasok siya, hinawakan sa kamay ang batang babae at ito'y bumangon. 26 Kumalat ang balita tungkol dito sa buong lupaing iyon.
Pinagaling ang Dalawang Bulag
27 Habang nililisan ni Jesus ang dakong iyon, may dalawang lalaking bulag na sumunod sa kanya at sumisigaw nang malakas, “Maawa ka sa amin, Anak ni David.” 28 Pagpasok niya sa bahay, lumapit sa kanya ang mga bulag, at sinabi ni Jesus sa kanila, “Naniniwala ba kayong kaya kong gawin ito?” Sinabi nila sa kanya, “Opo, Panginoon.” 29 Hinawakan niya ang kanilang mga mata at sinabi, “Mangyari sa inyo ang inyong pinaniniwalaan.” 30 At sila'y nakakita. Mahigpit na nagbilin sa kanila si Jesus, “Tiyakin ninyong walang ibang makaaalam nito.” 31 Subalit pag-alis nila ay ipinamalita nila ang tungkol sa kanya sa buong lupaing iyon.
Pinagaling ang Lalaking Pipi
32 Nang paalis na sina Jesus, dinala sa kanya ang isang taong pipi dahil ito'y sinasaniban ng demonyo. 33 Pinalayas ni Jesus ang demonyo, at ang pipi ay nakapagsalita. Namangha ang napakaraming tao at nagsabi, “Wala pang nakitang tulad nito sa Israel.” 34 Subalit sinabi ng mga Fariseo, “Sa pamamagitan ng kapangyarihan ng pinuno ng mga demonyo ay nagpapalayas siya ng mga demonyo.”
Nahabag si Jesus sa mga Tao
35 Nilibot ni Jesus ang lahat ng mga lungsod at mga nayon, at nagtuturo sa mga sinagoga ng mga Judio at ipinapahayag ang Magandang Balita ng kaharian. Pinagagaling niya ang lahat ng uri ng sakit at karamdaman. 36 Nang kanyang makita ang napakaraming tao, nahabag siya sa kanila sapagkat sila'y nababalisa at nakakaawa, na gaya ng mga tupang walang pastol. 37 Sinabi niya sa kanyang mga alagad, “Napakarami ng aanihin, subalit kakaunti ang mga manggagawa. 38 Kaya't idalangin ninyo sa Panginoon ng ánihin na magsugo siya ng mga manggagawa sa kanyang aanihin.”

9 Habiendo entrado en la barca, Jesús pasó a la otra orilla y llegó a su propia ciudad. 2 Entonces le trajeron un paralítico tendido sobre una camilla. Y viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico:
—Ten ánimo, hijo; tus pecados te son perdonados.
3 He aquí, algunos de los escribas dijeron entre sí:
—¡Este blasfema!
4 Y conociendo Jesús sus pensamientos, les dijo:
—¿Por qué piensan mal en sus corazones? 5 Porque, ¿qué es más fácil decir: “Tus pecados te son perdonados” o decir: “Levántate y anda”? 6 Pero para que sepan que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad para perdonar pecados en la tierra —entonces dijo al paralítico—: ¡Levántate; toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa!
7 Y se levantó y se fue a su casa. 8 Cuando las multitudes vieron esto, temieron y glorificaron a Dios, quien había dado semejante autoridad a los hombres.
El llamamiento de Mateo
9 Pasando de allí, Jesús vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, sentado en el lugar de los tributos públicos, y le dijo: “¡ Sígueme!”. Y él se levantó y lo siguió.
10 Sucedió que, estando Jesús sentado a la mesa en casa, he aquí muchos publicanos y pecadores que habían venido estaban sentados a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos. 11 Y cuando los fariseos lo vieron, decían a sus discípulos:
—¿Por qué come su maestro con los publicanos y pecadores?
12 Al oírlo, Jesús les dijo:
—Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los que están enfermos. 13 Vayan, pues, y aprendan qué significa: Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio[a]. Porque yo no he venido para llamar a justos, sino a pecadores[b].
Preguntas sobre el ayuno
14 Entonces los discípulos de Juan fueron a Jesús y dijeron:
—¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos frecuentemente pero tus discípulos no ayunan?
15 Jesús les dijo:
—¿Pueden tener luto los que están de bodas mientras el novio está con ellos? Pero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán. 16 Nadie pone parche de tela nueva en vestido viejo, porque el parche tira del vestido y la rotura se hace peor. 17 Tampoco echan vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque los odres se rompen, el vino se derrama y los odres se echan a perder. Más bien, echan vino nuevo en odres nuevos, y ambos se conservan.
Jesús sana a una mujer
18 Mientras él hablaba estas cosas, he aquí vino un hombre principal y se postró delante de él diciéndole:
—Mi hija acaba de morir. Pero ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y vivirá.
19 Jesús se levantó y lo siguió con sus discípulos. 20 Y he aquí una mujer que sufría de hemorragia desde hacía doce años se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto; 21 porque ella pensaba dentro de sí: “Si solamente toco su vestido, seré sanada”. 22 Pero Jesús, volviéndose y mirándola, dijo:
—Ten ánimo, hija, tu fe te ha salvado.
Y la mujer fue sanada desde aquella hora.
Jesús resucita a una niña
23 Cuando Jesús llegó a la casa del principal y vio a los que tocaban las flautas y a la multitud que hacía bullicio, 24 les dijo:
—Apártense, porque la muchacha no ha muerto, sino que duerme.
Y se burlaban de él. 25 Cuando hubieron sacado a la gente, él entró y la tomó de la mano; y la muchacha se levantó. 26 Y salió esta noticia por toda aquella tierra.
Jesús sana a dos ciegos
27 Mientras Jesús pasaba de allí, lo siguieron dos ciegos clamando a gritos y diciendo:
—¡Ten misericordia de nosotros, hijo de David!
28 Cuando él llegó a la casa, los ciegos vinieron a él. Y Jesús les dijo:
—¿Creen que puedo hacer esto?
Ellos dijeron:
—Sí, Señor.
29 Entonces les tocó los ojos diciendo:
—Conforme a la fe de ustedes les sea hecho.
30 Y los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos. Entonces Jesús les encargó rigurosamente diciendo:
—Miren que nadie lo sepa.
31 Pero ellos salieron y difundieron su fama por toda aquella tierra.
Jesús sana a un endemoniado mudo
32 Mientras aquellos salían, he aquí le trajeron un hombre mudo endemoniado. 33 Y tan pronto fue echado fuera el demonio, el mudo habló. Y las multitudes se maravillaban diciendo:
—¡Nunca se ha visto semejante cosa en Israel!
34 Pero los fariseos decían:
—Por el príncipe de los demonios echa fuera los demonios.
Jesús se compadece de la gente
35 Jesús recorría todas las ciudades y las aldeas, enseñando en sus sinagogas, predicando el evangelio del reino y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia. 36 Y cuando vio las multitudes, tuvo compasión de ellas porque estaban acosadas y desamparadas como ovejas que no tienen pastor. 37 Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: “A la verdad, la mies es mucha, pero los obreros son pocos. 38 Rueguen, pues, al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros a su mies”.
