Who Is Greatest in Heaven?
18 (A)At that [a]time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “(B)Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him [b]before them, 3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you [c]are converted and (C)become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever therefore will humble himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; 6 but (D)whoever (E)causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it is better for him that a [d]heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea.
Stumbling Blocks
7 “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For (F)it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; nevertheless, woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!
8 “(G)And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than, having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the eternal fire. 9 (H)And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into the [e](I)fiery hell.
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that (J)their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 [f][(K)For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.]
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
12 “What do you think? (L)If any man has one hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13 And if it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. 14 In this way, it is not the will [g]of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.
If Your Brother Sins
15 “(M)Now if your brother sins[h], go and [i]show him his fault, between you and him alone; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that (N)by the mouth of two or three witnesses every [j]fact may be confirmed. 17 And if he refuses to listen to them, (O)tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, (P)let him be to you as the Gentile and the tax collector. 18 Truly I say to you, (Q)whatever you [k]bind on earth [l]shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you [m]loose on earth [n]shall have been loosed in heaven.
19 “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, (R)it shall be done for them [o]by My Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, (S)I am there in their midst.”
Forgiveness
21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, (T)how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to (U)seven times?” 22 Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to (V)seventy times seven.
23 “For this reason (W)the kingdom of heaven [p]may be compared to a king who wished to (X)settle accounts with his slaves. 24 When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand [q]talents was brought to him. 25 But since he [r](Y)did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him (Z)to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. 26 Therefore, the slave fell to the ground and (AA)was prostrating himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ 27 And feeling compassion, the lord of that slave released him and (AB)forgave him the [s]debt. 28 But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him one hundred [t]denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ 29 So, his fellow slave fell to the ground and was pleading with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’ 30 But he was unwilling [u]and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed. 31 So, when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened. 32 Then summoning him, his lord *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 (AC)Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’ 34 And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. 35 (AD)My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your hearts.”

18 这时，门徒上前来，问耶稣：“在天国谁最伟大？”
2 耶稣叫了一个小孩子来站在他们当中，然后说： 3 “我实在告诉你们，你们若不变得像小孩子那样，绝不能进天国。 4 所以，凡像这小孩子一样谦卑的人，在天国才是最伟大的。
5 “任何人为了我的名而接待这样一个小孩子，就是接待了我。 6 但不论谁使这样一个小信徒失足犯罪，他的下场比把大磨石拴在他脖子上沉到深海里还要惨。 7 这世界有祸了！因为里面充满了引人犯罪的事。这样的事是免不了的，但那些引人犯罪的人有祸了！
8 “如果你的手或脚使你犯罪，就砍掉它！因为肢体残缺着进入永生，总比四肢健全却被丢进永远不灭的火中好。 9 如果你的一只眼睛使你犯罪，就剜出来丢掉它吧！独眼进入永生，总比双目健全却被丢进地狱的火中好。 10 你们切不可轻视任何一位卑微的人。我告诉你们，他们的天使在天上常见我天父的面。
迷失的羊
11 “人子到世界来，为要拯救迷失的人。 12 如果一个人有一百只羊，其中有一只走迷了路，他会怎么办呢？难道不会把那九十九只撇在山上，去找那只迷失的羊吗？ 13 我实在告诉你们，如果找到了，他会非常欢喜，甚至比有那九十九只没有迷失的羊还欢喜。 14 同样，你们的天父也不愿任何一个卑微的人失丧。
纠正信徒的过错
15 “如果你的弟兄得罪了你，你要找个机会跟他单独在一起，指出他的错处。如果他肯接受劝告，你就得了一位弟兄。 16 如果他不听劝告，你就带一两位弟兄去见他，让两三个人为谈话作证。 17 如果他仍然不听，就应当告诉教会。如果他连教会也不听，就把他看作异教徒或税吏[a]。 18 我实在告诉你们，你们在地上捆绑的，在天上也要捆绑；你们在地上释放的，在天上也要释放。
19 “我又告诉你们，如果你们当中有两个人在地上同心合意地祈求，不论求什么，我天上的父必为你们成就。 20 因为哪里有两三个人奉我的名聚会，我就在哪里与他们同在。”
七十个七次
21 彼得上前问耶稣：“主啊，如果我的弟兄得罪了我，我该饶恕他多少次呢？七次够了吧？”
22 耶稣回答说：“我告诉你，不是七次，是七十个七次。
23 “因此，天国就像一个王，他要跟奴仆清算债务。 24 正开始清算的时候，有人带着一个欠了六千万银币[b]的人进来。 25 因为这个人无法清还债款，王就下令把他及其妻儿和所有财产全部卖掉还债。 26 那奴仆跪在王面前乞求说，‘请宽容我，我会把债务全部还清的。’ 27 王可怜他，不但释放了他，而且免了他全部的债。
28 “可是，那奴仆出去后，遇见一位欠他一百个银币[c]的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐着他的喉咙说，‘还我钱！’ 29 同伴跪下哀求道，‘请宽容我，我会还你的。’
30 “那奴仆却不肯，竟把同伴送进监狱，直到他还清债务为止。 31 其他的奴仆目睹这一切，都愤愤不平，把这件事告诉了王。
32 “于是，王把那奴仆召来，说，‘你这可恶的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的债。 33 难道你不应该怜悯你的同伴，就像我怜悯你一样吗？’ 34 王大怒，下令把他交给狱卒受刑，直到他还清全部的债务。 35 如果你们不从心里饶恕自己的弟兄，我的天父也要这样对待你们。”

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven(A)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,(B) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(C) 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.(D) 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.(E)
Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.(F) 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!(G) 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,(H) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(I) gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.(J)
The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(K)
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(L) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault,(M) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d](N) 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;(O) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.(P)
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven.(Q)
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them(R) by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”(S)
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?(T) Up to seven times?”(U)
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[g](V)
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like(W) a king who wanted to settle accounts(X) with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[h] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay,(Y) the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold(Z) to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him.(AA) ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[i] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(AB)

—¿Quién es el más importante en el reino de los cielos?
2 Él llamó a un niño y lo puso en medio de ellos. 3 Entonces dijo:
—Les aseguro que a menos que ustedes cambien y se vuelvan como niños, no entrarán en el reino de los cielos. 4 Por tanto, el que se humilla como este niño será el más grande en el reino de los cielos.
5 »Y el que recibe en mi nombre a un niño como este me recibe a mí. 6 Pero si alguien hace pecar a uno de estos pequeños que creen en mí, más le valdría que le colgaran al cuello una gran piedra de molino y lo hundieran en lo profundo del mar.
7 »¡Ay del mundo por los tropiezos! Los tropiezos son inevitables, pero ¡ay de aquel que los ocasiona! 8 Si tu mano o tu pie te hace pecar, córtatelo y arrójalo. Más te vale entrar en la vida manco o cojo que ser arrojado al fuego eterno con tus dos manos y tus dos pies. 9 Y si tu ojo te hace pecar, sácatelo y arrójalo. Más te vale entrar tuerto en la vida que con dos ojos ser arrojado al fuego del infierno.

10 »Miren que no menosprecien a uno de estos pequeños. Porque les digo que en el cielo los ángeles de ellos contemplan siempre el rostro de mi Padre celestial. 11 [a]
12 »¿Qué les parece? Si un hombre tiene cien ovejas y se extravía una de ellas, ¿no dejará las noventa y nueve en las colinas para ir en busca de la extraviada? 13 Y si llega a encontrarla, les aseguro que se pondrá más feliz por esa sola oveja que por las noventa y nueve que no se extraviaron. 14 Así también, el Padre de ustedes que está en el cielo no quiere que se pierda ninguno de estos pequeños.
El hermano que peca contra ti
15 »Si tu hermano peca contra ti,[b] ve a solas con él y hazle ver su falta. Si te hace caso, has ganado a tu hermano. 16 Pero si no, lleva contigo a uno o dos más, para que “todo asunto se resuelva mediante el testimonio de dos o tres testigos”.[c] 17 Si se niega a hacerles caso a ellos, díselo a la iglesia; y si incluso a la iglesia no le hace caso, trátalo como si fuera un incrédulo[d] o un cobrador de impuestos.
18 »Les aseguro que todo lo que ustedes aten en la tierra quedará atado en el cielo y todo lo que desaten en la tierra quedará desatado en el cielo.
19 »Además les digo que, si dos de ustedes en la tierra se ponen de acuerdo sobre cualquier cosa que pidan, les será concedida por mi Padre que está en el cielo. 20 Porque donde dos o tres se reúnen en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos».
Parábola del siervo despiadado
21 Pedro se acercó a Jesús y preguntó:
—Señor, ¿cuántas veces tengo que perdonar a mi hermano que peca contra mí? ¿Hasta siete veces?
22 —No te digo que hasta siete veces, sino hasta setenta veces siete[e] —contestó Jesús—.
23 »Por eso el reino de los cielos se parece a un rey que quiso ajustar cuentas con sus siervos. 24 Al comenzar a hacerlo, se presentó uno que le debía diez mil monedas de oro.[f] 25 Como él no tenía con qué pagar, el señor mandó que lo vendieran a él, a su esposa y a sus hijos y todo lo que tenía, para así saldar la deuda. 26 El siervo se postró delante de él. “Tenga paciencia conmigo —rogó—, y se lo pagaré todo”. 27 El señor se compadeció de su siervo, perdonó su deuda y lo dejó en libertad.
28 »Al salir, aquel siervo se encontró con uno de sus compañeros que le debía cien monedas de plata.[g] Lo agarró por el cuello y comenzó a estrangularlo. “¡Págame lo que me debes!”, exigió. 29 Su compañero se postró delante de él. “Ten paciencia conmigo —rogó—, y te lo pagaré”. 30 Pero él se negó. Más bien fue y lo hizo meter en la cárcel hasta que pagara la deuda. 31 Cuando los demás siervos vieron lo ocurrido, se entristecieron mucho y fueron a contarle a su señor todo lo que había sucedido. 32 Entonces el señor mandó llamar al siervo. “¡Siervo malvado! —le dijo—, te perdoné toda aquella deuda porque me lo suplicaste. 33 ¿No debías tú también haberte compadecido de tu compañero, así como yo me compadecí de ti?”. 34 Y enojado, su señor lo entregó a los carceleros para que lo torturaran hasta que pagara todo lo que debía.
35 »Así también mi Padre celestial los tratará a ustedes, a menos que cada uno perdone de corazón a su hermano».
