^30 (A)And after singing a hymn, they went out to ^(B)the Mount of Olives.

³¹ Then Jesus *said to them, “You will all ^[a](C)fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, ‘^(D)I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be ^(E)scattered.’ ³² But after I have been raised, ^(F)I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” ³³ But Peter answered and said to Him, “Even though all may ^[b]fall away because of You, I will never fall away.” ³⁴ Jesus said to him, “^(G)Truly I say to you that ^(H)this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” ³⁵ Peter *said to Him, “^(I)Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You.” All the disciples said the same thing too.

^27 (C)And Jesus *said to them, “You will all ^[a]fall away, because it is written, ‘^(D)I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.’ ²⁸ But after I have been raised, ^(E)I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” ²⁹ But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may ^[b]fall away, yet I will not.” ³⁰ And Jesus *said to him, “Truly I say to you, that ^(F)today, this very night, before ^(G)a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.” ³¹ But Peter kept saying insistently, “If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing also.

³¹ “Simon, Simon, behold, ^(A)Satan has ^[a]demanded to ^(B)sift all of you like wheat. ³² But I ^(C)have prayed earnestly for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, once you have returned, ^(D)strengthen your brothers.” ^33 (E)But he said to Him, “Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!” ³⁴ And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
